Yep - Costco's the place if you need 6,000 rolls of toilet paper, or tons of kitty litter, or enough canned clam chowder to survive in a bunker for months. But if you need prompt, efficient, precise, professional video and digital services - CUSTOM VIDEO is the place for you. I can't believe in reading these reviews that we are talking about the same company. I have never experienced such disorganized business practices. All I needed was some VHS videos of my family to be put on DVD discs. When I dropped them off, I asked the gentleman repeatedly what the procedure was and what was it going to cost. He never explained what they do (I am not an AV person - clearly). He just shot out a number and said he needed half to start. A week later Michael called to say that one of the tapes were really long and had to be put into 2 masters instead of 1 (which makes sense - I get that part). He kept saying it was going to be another $150. It didn't make any sense to me considering I was only getting 1 extra master and 3 copies. I called him back and hoped for a resolution. I told him I have no idea what they are charging (the guy at the beginning just handed me a credit card receipt with no invoice). I asked him what I was looking at dollar wise. He tried to explain with the prices. I hung up and did my own calculations. I was $70.00 cheaper than what he was quoting. I figured that when it was done that I could see what I was paying for. Michael handed me the DVD's and was more interested in getting my CC than telling me what he was charging me for. I asked for something in writing, which he looked at me blankly. Who pays close to $600.00 without something in writing? I don't. He said he would have to type something up. (Seriously? this is how you do business?) I said I would wait. He then proceeded to tell me that the wedding videos I had done as well was going to be an extra charge of $18.00 (9.00 each) because I only bought 1 copy and not 3. In looking at the wedding title, they miss-spelled mom and dad's wedding. Instead it read "Mom and Dan's wedding - seriously? On the dvd, it did say mom and dad's so clearly it wasn't my handwriting. So, even though they screwed up the title, he still had to charge me for not producing enough copies. So, after all this, I was so upset I couldn't even bother to watch the DVD's. I kept thinking at least I would have lasting memories. The whole thing looks thrown together. No one at this company explained to me that it has to go onto tracks. If I would have known that, I would have told them to segment out the family gatherings, parties, etc. Some of the footage is broken up from 1 DVD to the other. After spending so much money, I wanted to give a professional gift to my kids. Now, I am embarrassed. I will never do business with them again and I encourage anyone who is thinking of using them to get all your information first and don't hand your credit card until you are satisfied with what you are hearing.
