I…read morealways love walking into thrift stores and seeing what people have discarded, only to be rediscovered by someone else. As soon as you walk in you realize this isn't your average thrift store. The store is well laid out, organized and has that fantastic smell of used gear (but in a good way); it all brings back good memories of the past. They have a good assortment of records (yes vinyl is making a comeback). And they are dirt cheap; mostly costing less than a buck! I picked up two records and it cost me a toonie. How great is that!! The store shelves are organized in a great way, great friendly and inviting owners, wonderful jazz music was playing in the background, housewares, books, clothing, toys, electronics and even furniture were available to snap up. Be careful, walk into Junk in the Trunk and you'll be walking into a time-warp that you may not want to leave.

I ordered a brand new couch that was discontinued but I was told they could still order it new, my…read moremother ordered the exact same one and it took 8 weeks to be delivered. Mine was apparently ready immediately which was weird. When it arrived there were very obviously used felt pads with someone else's dirt on them and I was told by the delivery guys that this piece wasn't factory sealed it was shrink wrapped and sold to me as a new couch when it was used. Additionally it was all wonky and the arm rest made a clicking sound and the cushions didn't line up. I raised these concerns immediately with the delivery guys and was told to keep it as a loaner and talk to the store to find a solution. There are a lot of features I like about the couch that I couldn't find in another one so after numerous discussions with the owner Andy I agreed for them to repair it and if I was happy with it then they would give me a 10% discount as it is still obviously a used and damaged piece. Also in conversation here I learned that their supposed worry free warranty that I purchased doesn't cover any structural components it's just for stains. Again misleading and not what I was sold on. I have since decided that I don't want their warranty as it wasn't what I was told it was and this entire process of them fixing it has been less than desirable as I had to follow up multiple times to get anything done. It has now been 4 weeks since the final repair. I have spoke to at least 5 different people at this store about the refund on multiple occasions and had to explain this story 15 times yet I STILL have not received the refund I was promised. How many people do I have to speak to for this to be resolved when they have all called and told me that they will get it dealt with and follow up. Not one of them has followed up. I am a business owner myself and it is VERY simple to process a refund. There are no excuses at this point and I suppose I will have to file a dispute with my credit card company since they are clearly incapable of resolving an issue as they promised.

We went way down south as no other stores could compare price wise so I used the chat to inquire about a specific piece at 6:30 AM and was shocked to get a phone call from SHIBU to help answer my questions. We made plans to connect with him in store on the weekend. He was went above and beyond for us measuring, explain the fabric, reviewing the warranty and anything else we asked. We bought a beautiful couch, it was delivered with white glove service by 2 very professional men who took care and attention to delivery and installation. Then after a day we both realized we had made a mistake and it was too big for our space, so I called SHIBU, he told us to come in and we spent over an hour with him and other FE staff to find the perfect sized couch to meet our needs. I would definitely recommend him and FE, excellent prices and CS!

After only a few months, the bed railing broke due to extremely poor-quality materials. When I went to the store to file a warranty claim, I was told to come back another time because the person in charge of claims was not available. When I returned a few weeks later, I was then told that I had to call three different stores in Calgary just to find out which one my claim had been assigned to. This was an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. I will never shop there again.

My elderly Mom and I went to look at the tables and began pulling apart the leaf on the one we were interested in while the group of employees continued their chatting amongst themselves. No one approached us or offered help at all. When we went up to the desk we still were not noticed until I said "excuse me". After purchasing the table ( against my wishes but my Mom really liked it) we turned to leave and I said goodbye but they had gone back to chatting and did not hear me. When the day of delivery came after making many adjustments to our day and moving things around to make way for the new table including getting rid of the old one we waited. And we waited, tracked delivery - on truck and on it's way. Waited and waited, it was now 8:30 pm. Called the store, no answer. In short it did not show up. We did not receive a call nor a text to tell us why. Next day I called and a boy answered after being having my story being interrupted several times I asked to speak to the manager. I got an assistant manager who went on to say that the soonest they can get it delivered would be in 5 days. She had no idea what happened and couldn't find out for me as to why there was no phone call. She also told me "I actually like old people" when I explained my parents whom are elderly would no where to eat till then. She went on to tell me that "we are not amazon and can't guarantee a delivery day or time". I again asked to talk to the manager but the assistant manager said she would get her to call me. The manager never called me. Currently we await for the next delivery date which is tomorrow. Needless to say I will be going back to Leon's for any future purchases and will not be recommending The Brick to anyone I know.
