The room I chose was a little messy. I was turned off by one of the employees having a personal conversation about how some boy broke her heart. It was really quite annoying and did not need to be discussed at work. She sounded really immature and unprofessional. When I went to check out, the lady who rang up my order was really nice and funny. This location is much more convenient and they have a decent selection of work out clothes. The BCG apparel is sort of spread out though which made it hard to find what I was looking for.

HEB has it right in this regard, Academy not so much. We also didn't find the shoes we came here for. And these aren't the droids you're looking for, either, for that matter.

Even though he was busy, he was very friendly and willing to help. He let us know he was assisting someone else and asked another representative to take care of us. Honestly, I wish we had waited for the first gentleman. The second representative, a larger gentleman, came over to help us, but the experience was completely different. My fiancé was trying to ask questions and have a conversation about the products, but he came across as very rude and standoffish. It genuinely felt like he didn't want to help us. Customer service plays a HUGE role in whether or not I spend my money in said establishment. We left without making a purchase. Hopefully, future customers receive the same level of service we experienced from the first representative, because he made a great first impression.

Go figure, all of the 'local' stores (some of them 20+miles out) showed one pair so I knew to call to make sure they had them before driving out. Of course, the closest one didn't have them, but the next one out in Friendswood (Baybrook) did. I didn't mind being on hold to confirm this, so I was on my way. The drive out wasn't so bad, and the parking lot was huge since it was in a decent sized shopping center. I did have to wait in the checkout line (which had only 2 people working) so it was about 10 minutes, but more associates were brought on after this. I wish they were on hold in the actual shoe section since I wanted to make sure the fit was perfect and when I brought this up, the guy said I could bring them back if they didn't work out. I took them back to the shoe area after purchasing to try, and they worked. Service was great over the phone with the girl who confirmed the stock, and the guy at the register was cool as well. It was worth the drive out here!

Christian went above and beyond to find the shoe in our size after getting special permission from Justin the manager to sell it since it was not even on the floor yet due to an upcoming Hyrox event they were having at their store. That type of customer service will make us a Dicks Sporting goods customer for life. Their marketing person even came over to tell us about upcoming events leading up to the Hyrox event in Houston and welcome us back. Even though it was over an hour drive, we absolutely will return to this location and will tell all our friends that live closer to this area about how amazing we were treated .

The service was great too because someone came up and helped us find the right size shoes, gave their own opinion on what shoes they preferred/the pros and cons of each, and they even explained their membership program to us. We actually ended up signing up for the program because it's a one-time $30 fee to shop in their member-only section of the store where they sell returned items for less than market price with a bunch of extra benefits. And, you actually get back the $30 you paid for the membership in the form of a store gift card. So, for example we actually got a pair of men's Hokas for $52, and now we have an extra $30 gift card we can go back to use in the store before it expires in the next month. The member-only returned section has a bunch of things from clothes to shoes to hats, etc., so just for that I think it's worth it.
