A few hours later, I arrived and Hanna was my nail tech. I got my old no chip/gel removed and replaced for $43. The color I chose was a deep burgundy, almost dark brown/purple, not too far from my usual preferred colors in the fall. It was ZGel 84 "Camp Ground." The salon was pretty full, and I was seated promptly at a station next to another client. There were two stations side by side that flanked the side wall. The other wall were pedicure chairs. This seemed like a popular place, and while it's not a hot-hand-towels sort of place, it was a good quality mani for a decent price. Hanna took her time and carefully filed and shaped my nails to the shaped I preferred, and was gently with my one broken nail that was a little shorter than the others. There are TVs with cooking shows playing (perfect, for me) and I was in/out without issue. I was satisfied with my mani and Bella Nora seems like a reliable salon! Judging by the good reviews (which is how I found and chose this place) and the quality of their services, I will be back!

Guy at front grabs the gel color swatches and hands to me then directs me to a pedicure chair in the back. I have never been here before so the process was new. A cute older lady was setting up the chair for me and did most of the pedicure treatment. She didn't seem to speak much English but pointed to the pedicure price menu. She also showed me the volcano pedi menu hoo wee that would be a real treat for a special occasion but too rich for my blood. I had gel that needed to be removed and I get it that it is a bit time consuming. But daaaang the pedicure and mani took FOREVER. I appreciate a nail place taking time to have attention to detail and not rushing but this was a very long mani pedi. When the polish was removed the guy from the front took over. He smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke it was a bit of a turnoff. He did however make sure I was happy with the selection of gel color and explained that the confetti gel was clear. And that I might want a solid color under it so I chose white. It was a good choice and I am very happy with the gel color. He also shaped my fingernails very nicely. The color was applied very carefully and I have had a lot of compliments. What wasn't that great in the visit besides the long a$$ time was he cut me a few times with a very sharp tool. Near the end of the pedi he pressed down on the cut with a towel and said he has cut me and will put medicine on it. He put some white cream on the cut. The lady had also nicked me, which was disappointing. The other not so great thing was at the end when I was paying. I gave the guy a cash tip and paid for the service on a card. I was getting my keys out to leave and the guy asked if I wanted him to split the tip with the lady? What? Is that a passive aggressive way to say I needed to give another tip to the lady as well? It was a bit rude and a turnoff. Overall the gel was very nice but such a long time to get done especially when I was the only customer there most of the time.

Unfortunately, the bigger issue was the quality of my service. My technician seemed to rush through my nails, paid very little attention to detail, and barely spoke to me during the appointment. After I got home, I noticed one side of a nail was uneven and had to file it myself. There was also quite a bit of acrylic left underneath several of my nails that I had to clean up on my own. I wish I had taken a closer look before leaving, but my technician disappeared immediately after finishing, and I didn't really have the opportunity to inspect everything. Overall, I left feeling like customer experience wasn't much of a priority. It was disappointing, especially for a special occasion like a pre-wedding appointment. My technician "Kat"was about 15 minutes late for my fill and pedicure appointment. Once she started, the work felt rushed. Every nail ended up a different length, and although I requested square nails, some corners were square while others were rounded. The acrylic fill was uneven, especially around the cuticles, and several nails looked lopsided. To save time, I was placed in the pedicure chair to soak while my technician finished my nails because she already had another client waiting. That made me feel like I was being rushed through my appointment instead of receiving the service I paid for. Before I left, I told my technician I wasn't happy that the nails were different lengths and shapes. She did offer to have me come back to redo them, but I was flying out of the country the following day, so that wasn't an option. Initially, I considered returning later to give them another chance, but after thinking it over, I decided I'd rather find a salon that takes more pride in its work. I paid $130 for my services. The photos I'm posting were taken about two weeks later, so there is some growth, but you can still clearly see the inconsistent shapes and the uneven fill around the cuticles. I cannot believe they would treat their old clients this way. The owner said, she didn't care about what I had to say and she'd only support the people that work for her and take their word over any customer. Long story short they've blocked me from services there bcos a nail tech was uncomfortable working with me. She wouldn't tell me the reason for it and was very abrupt in her mannerism.
