I've never taken the time to write a bad review online before, but I felt that this place really deserved it. It was the most pretentious, rude and unwelcoming place I've ever visited in my life.
I booked an appointment for 5:30 on a Saturday. The guy on the phone was actually very friendly, and I arrived there 10 minutes early. I was prepared to have a sit-down, a cup of tea and maybe read some magazines -- but the secretary told me very bluntly that my hairdresser was running late. No apology was offered; even a smile was too much effort for her.
I went for a coffee and popped back 15 minutes later. Once again I was greeted by the same woman (who didn't seem any more friendly on this second visit), who told me to sit down on a couch. For the next 30 minutes I sat on the couch feeling extremely unwelcome. Occasionally a member of staff would walk past and look at me like I was some sort of animal who'd walked in off the street.
At 6 o'clock, my hairdresser came downstairs looking quite angry and irritated. Instead of apologising for his lateness, he went on his phone to a mate for 5 minutes and gave me hostile glances from across the room.
Eventually I was asked to sit down on the chair, and brashly asked "so what do you want?" with his face like I'd offended him in some way just by being there. He then started insulting my hair, throwing his comb about, and barking to his assistant to wash my hair before storming upstairs.
At this point I'd had enough and left before having my hair washed. It's an expensive place, and I'd rather have crap hair than give a penny to such an arrogant, conceited place. read more
