The two young guys cater to the younger clientele in the back of the shop. The owner, Wilfredo, likes a relaxed atmosphere where anytime can feel comfortable. He plays old school Latino music and sometimes contemporary Christian music. I've been coming here for about five years. Wilfredo's English isn't great but he's very easy to communicate with nonetheless and tries his best to give you what you want. I often experiment with different hair styles and he always works with me. If you communicate, he'll always be receptive to you (most barbers just cut your hair the way they want). I'm a young guy myself but I appreciate a place that doesn't feel an extension of the front stoop of a Bronx building. These guys are working class, middle aged dudes that love their jobs, want to give you a great cut, and want you to come back. You want a cut, this is the place!

My sister proceeded to look for the hair braider who was not present. At the point which my sister is looking for the woman, the "owner" then tells her where she can't go, and argues with her while the other one calls her a bitch. After I arrived and spoke to the owner, he boldly explained that he did not have to greet my sister or give her any information on the hair braiders because he was busy and she is not his customer. As someone who hates having to break from their schedule too much to get a haircut, I appreciate the fact that Manny usually has the shop open and ready to go from 7AM on weekdays. In addition, if you stop in and let them know when you get off of work, they're pretty reasonable about making sure someone is in the shop to get you if an evening cut is your preference. In addition to the scheduling flexibility, this is one of the few barbershops where even if I pass by and see a lot of people waiting, I'm willing to join the line. As someone who has been getting cuts from Manny for years now, I know and realize that he is adept at quickly cutting hair and you will not be stuck in the chair forever, waiting to leave as the barber goes on and on about something you don't really care about. As far as the quality of the haircuts, I wouldn't say Manny is the best, but he IS very good. There are some barbers that will either take forever or leave you with a lot of scabs in their attempts to deliver you a perfect hairline. As someone gifted with a terrible hairline, I'm all too familiar with that process. Most of the time it just results in pain and wasted time and effort or a hairline pushed so far back it's unnatural. Perhaps because he is so efficient at cutting, Manny won't go for that perfect hairline but what you're left with will look good and natural. As someone who is on the go, I highly recommend Wavy Cuts. In addition, their prices are some of the best I've encountered. It's about $10 for a line-up and $15 for a full cut.
