I wish I was able to spend more time here! This was a great stop just down the road from Russian River Brewing, offering up some great classic Belgian brews. The bartender was so nice and offered me samples of just about everything and since I was just stopping in to pick up some bottles to go, that was a welcome offer to help me make my selections! I met some locals who were regulars here at Cuver and they say it's the best beer in the Santa Rosa area. I was very impressed with all of the samples and ended up purchasing a few bottles to-go. The ones I've tried so far have been great and it's always nice to see a brewery who is sticking to tradition. You won't find overly hoppy IPAs here but you'll find amazing barrel aged sours, Belgian ales, and other traditional Belgian brews. If I'm around in the future, I'll definitely stop by CUVER for a longer period of time to enjoy some of their brews in the cool brewery space. They had plenty of seating and offer some game nights as well. What a treat! Cheers! read more

The bartender was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. CuVer have an excellent selection of Belgian beers. Our party enjoyed all the beers and even took some home to enjoy later. The taproom had a very friendly vibe. I recommend everyone to search out this family owned and operated brewery. read more

Such kind owners. The space feels really cozy with them and the decor. I loved the Pepperwood. I bought a four pack to take home but it simply wasn't enough - I need more! I am looking forward to going back. The only bummer is that I live down in SF. So anytime I'm up that far north I treat myself to a CuVer trip. read more

Small local brewery located not far from the airport. I stopped in here to pass away several hours before flying out later in the day. Place is small and cozy. Unlike a traditional tasting room with an industrial vibe, think more office space with more couches and chairs. I ordered a flight of beers which I found very enjoyable. Staff is very friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. read more

Exceptional brewery. Wonderful tasting experience! There are so many great beers here - where do I start? I loved all of them. I think my favorites were the dark lioness and the golden lion, but I also loved By Her Bootstraps. So delicious! Crisp and light and fabulous. Wonderful double and triple, and the mojito beer was super good. I didn't expect to like it but I did. We tried all the beers, including the ones in bottles. There were 3 of us and we split 2 tastings and bought 2 bottles to split 3 ways. The tasting room is large and comfortable - you've got a bar and also an area with tables and games! There's an outside patio too. Service was so friendly - if you like Belgian beers do not miss this place. It's truly a gem. I can't wait to bring all my beer drinking friends here. Usually I only like a couple wines at breweries as most us breweries seem to overhop now, but everything was good here. These are just beautifully balanced beers with character. read more

Casual and cozy family run spot with a bar and seating area with darts. There's no food but outside food is welcome so we brought a spread and enjoyed some Belgian beer on an indoor picnic table. You can order Belgian flights or try before purchasing for the tap beers. Service is friendly and attentive. Also dog friendly. read more

Forgot to post this from a few months ago. We were so excited to find a local Belgium brewery. I was introduced to Belgium beer on a trip to Ghent. If you like dark beer, you must try Cuver's quadruple ale, Dark Lioness. It is so good. We have recommended to many friends in south bay and they have asked us to bring some down. read more

Right next to Russian River Brewing Co., CUVER is an absolute gem! I loved every single beer I tasted and have never had a more educational an inviting experience at a Sonoma brewery. I would recommend getting their extended flight as it allows you to experience a broad range of their creations. The beers are also extremely reasonably priced and you can mix and match your purchase. For anyone who loves craft beer (of any style), CUVER is a MUST! Can't wait to go back! read more

What a great experience. We were visiting my brother, who lives in Santa Rosa when we stumbled upon Cuver. This brewery has been around about 18 months. The owners are a sweet family from Belgium and their beers are delicious. There is outside and inside seating as well as seating at the bar. They also have two dart bars. The best thing about this place is not only the beers but also the family-like, charming atmosphere. read more

It is a pleasure to support a lovely business like this. There is history and a story. We visited last week. We were on a 10 day California Brewery tour and we sought out Cuver which is pronounced more like Cuvée. The space they have created is warm and inviting. Plenty of seating including sofas, tables and candles. There is a tv too. Indoor and Outdoor space. I really enjoyed the flight and I suggest you get it too. You can try all of the Belgian styles and then go deep on the one you liked the best. I would visit again! read more

I have wanted to get up to Cuver for a while, being an ex-brewer with similar styles on the menu. They did not disappoint. Had a small flight of various beers, but I came especially for the Flanders Red style that they only pour on a Saturday. Great style variety. I took home a bottle of the Flanders red. I love Belgian beers, but here in NorCal the selection is pretty limited and prices are quite high for the ales made in Flanders and Wallonia. Well, I had a chance to visit the Cuver Brewery in Windsor along with the Belgian Club of Northern California (BCNC). (My wife is from Antwerp.) The owners and "Brouwmeester" are a Belgian-born family now living in Sonoma County and producing beers as close to the original Belgian beers Duvel, Chimay and Orval as they can. I highly recommend a visit to their small and very clean brewery and tasting room for some delicious beers and ales. For my sake, please encourage Hendrik, the Brouwmeester, to work like crazy to perfect a beer like St Bernardus!! read more

Best Belgian beer we have had in the US so far! We stumbled upon this little treasure during our road trip through wine country. The place is owned by a Belgian family and we were very surprised by the quality of the beers. Not like any other we have had. Beer Brewed by Belgians! Our craft brewery CUVER was founded by a Belgian and Californian family in 2021. We specialize in Belgian beer styles (Abbey Ale, Saison Ale, Blonde). We also brew Bohemian Pilsner, IPA and a selection of seasonal beers. On Sour Saturdays we showcase our barrel-aged beers. Friday food truck schedule, 4 to 7 pm on our website. Kid and dog friendly.

History

Established in 2021.

The Verspecht family moved to California in 2012 and missed Belgian beers. Jan started homebrewing in 2013, and Hendrik joined, contributing yeast cultures and original recipes. Reed Cushing, Hendrik father in law, also became involved in the homebrewing process. Now, the Verspecht-Cushing Brewing Company is ready to share their passion for Belgian-style beers with the world. They aim to provide high-quality, flavorful beers that blend traditional Belgian styles with West Coast creativity.

Meet the Manager: Hendrik V.

Alumni Montgomery High, Santa Rosa, CA. Born in Belgium in 1998, masters degree in biochemistry from the University of Ghent (Belgium), understands the science behind great beers, creator of award winning recipes, 4th generation active in brewing.

They also had a couple of large-screen TVs set up showing the World Cup game. Our server was very helpful, answering our questions about beer and bringing us a couple of samples before deciding what to order. I asked for my favorite light beer, DayTime, and we decided to share an order of chicken wings, fries, and their P-Town Chop Salad. The beer was as good as I remembered, and the food was well-made and delicious, especially the wings (with Buffalo sauce). They allow dogs, as long as they are well-behaved and on a leash, so our little guy had fun saying hello to a couple of dogs that were sitting nearby in between his breaks from begging for treats from the table. We spent a couple of hours there before heading home.

We came to enjoy the Pliny but they have a great selection of different beer (and great prices too!) We had plans to eat elsewhere afterwards but couldn't help but order something to snack on while enjoying our drinks. Ordered the Pliny fries with added grilled onions, chicken wings with Pliny sauce and the vinnie's ice cream sundae for dessert. Pliny fries came with white cheddar fondue, jalapeños, garlic oil and the grilled onions we had added was a nice touch. Chicken wings were a nice size, cooked well and the sauce surprisingly had a good kick to it. Really good! Came with a side of celery, carrots and both blue cheese and ranch dipping sauce. Now that ice cream sundae? So good! Ice cream is made from scratch from the owner's recipe. The almonds are a great addition for the texture. Huge serving also! Service was great. Staff was attentive and checked on us often. We watched the World Cup game inside and when that was finished, went outside to play a few games of cornhole. It's free. Just have to give your ID to get the sacks to play with to make sure they get it back. Great spot. Would definitely come back!

We aren't always blown away by IPA'S but the ones we have had lately have been great which includes this one. They do this particular tour on nights when there's little to no moonlight since that is when you will best see the sparkling creatures in the bay. It embarks from Miller's Boat Launch near Nick's Cove in Marshall. It's not far from Point Reyes, so if you're spending time at the seashore, this is a magical way to end your day. They begin at 8 with very detailed instructions for your gear and paddling. Between that and then launching the boats in your group, you actually get on the water about 8:45 and return to the dock around 11 pm. It was a windy and foggy evening, so unfortunately, there were no sunset views. But the novelty of paddling in twighlight in to the evening more than made up for that. We had flocks of pelicans flying overhead and once we got to darker areas, the real star of the show came out to sparkle. You can see the bioluminescence light up as you paddle or run your fingers in the water. We stopped a few times along some coves and even saw the sparkles lap up on the sandy shores. We had 3 guides -one leading, one in the middle and one at the back to make sure no boats were left behind. The ride out was a bit choppy but we had paddlers of all levels in our group and everyone did okay. The guides made sure to check in with everyone and we'd count off boats to make sure we all caught up, We got to hear information about the seashore and the surrounding waters and the local creatures. The time flew by and it was such a wonderful, magical experience. If you haven't night kayaked, I'd definitely say to try it once. I hope to travel with Blue waters again and try one of their day trips, While it's important to dress warm and wear waterproof shoes, they do provide dry bags, a waterproof top and of course all the safety gear for your excursion.

Now that ice cream sundae? So good! Ice cream is made from scratch from the owner's recipe. The almonds are a great addition for the texture. Huge serving also! Service was great. Staff was attentive and checked on us often. We watched the World Cup game inside and when that was finished, went outside to play a few games of cornhole. It's free. Just have to give your ID to get the sacks to play with to make sure they get it back. Great spot. Would definitely come back!

It was served up with cream cheese and salmon lox with micro greens and pickled red onions. The cafe's take on this classic works and the size was just right for a lunch serving. The latte was satisfying. You really taste the espresso and the steamed milk and creamy foam was the right pick me up I needed after my early morning drive. The cafe had plenty of outdoor seating. The inside also had a sitting area in the middle of the room with comfy couches. Plenty of tables and chairs along the windows too, perfect for working or just catching up with friends over coffee. Service was friendly and my barista was just as happy as can be. A local gem.

If someone I know was looking for a pour yourself brewery I'd send them to Barrel Brothers.
