Woah! How does this only have a 3.8 rating!? Hubs and I had the most wonderful experience here in July 2026. Beautiful location, friendly staff, great beer and delicious food! This place is HUGE! So much seating everywhere!! My only complaint is that we asked for a great view that the hostess liked and she should have warned us she was seating us in the dog friendly patio area. After we had already ordered, some woman had her dog literally laying on top of the table. So that was disgusting. Their whole table was extremely loud and annoying. Other than that, it was a beautiful area. Now on to the food and beer. We ordered a couple beers, what a great price for most! They were ice cold and delicious! For the first appetizer we ordered the riblets (I wish there had been more), they were very tasty. Next we ordered the grilled artichoke- make sure you order this!! What a flavor explosion! So so good. I only wish our two appetizers were warmer, but we didn't let that stop us from devouring them. Then we shared the Russian River cheesesteak and upgraded to the Pliny fries - you must do this! A delicious white cheese fondue on top of fries with jalapeños and Parmesan on top, then dip your sammich in the cheese fondue. Yum yum yummmm! The cheesesteak was very tasty!! Over the weekend, needed some small bites with some ice cold beer. Joe, our waiter and bartender was great! He never let our beer glasses go empty before asking if we needed another round. The Pliny fries were great, next time I'm going to add grilled onions. The artichoke dip had nice, big pieces of artichoke hearts that were tender. My FAV part about the brewery is the spacious patio area, which is perfect for my family with a little boy & a dog. So once a year for two weeks,Russian River Brewing becomes the beer mecca on the planet-for two weeks they release their triple IPA Pliny The Younger. People come from from all over the planet to fly in for a chance to be able to taste this amazing brew each year and this year,I decided to join them and go out to try and get my hands on Pliny The Younger. The release this year was from March 20th 2026 to April 2nd 2026. So 1st thing we had to do was decide which location we wanted to go to-They have a downtown Santa Rosa location and a much bigger location located in Windsor. I decided to go to Windsor because I was told the parking lot was much bigger and the dining area has a larger capacity-not sure if that's true but was good enough for me. We left Sacramento a bit after 6am and we arrived in Windsor around 830am. When we arrived,there was already a line of probably around 75-100 people. So we just grabbed our spot in line and we waited until they opened up the dining area at 11am-Hoping to get seated in the first wave. We were told before we went out there that if we were lucky the wait would be from 2-3 hours and if we were unlucky it could be up to 6 hours. Well I can really explain it but the somehow the time flew by-not sure if it was the people we were in line with,who were all in the best of moods or if it was just the anticipation of doing something really fun. They were true pros the way they had the line setup-totally organized and they even have heat-lamps out there to keep everyone warm,while we waited. Well today was our lucky day because my buddy and I got seated in the first wave. The dining area was really big with so many table options,multiple rooms for seating available and they even had a bar area and an area where you could sit around a fireplace-like area. The wait staff was really awesome at this restaurant-each person working was even nicer than the next. How it works during Younger release event is like this. -They give you a wristband with 3 numbered pull tabs on it that allows each customer to get 3 pours and then at the end of their meal we are allowed to buy 3 bottles of the highly coveted release Pliny The Younger. The price point for these beers were $6.75 for each pour and around $13.00 for each take home bottle. While I was there I also had a taste of Blind Pig and Tempo Change-those were like $1.25 each for a tasting of those two beers. One thing I didn't quite have a scope of before going to this event in person was the high quality of food offered at Russian River Brewing. I made a double mistake of eating while I was in line and also making plans to eat at another place after this event. So I missed out on really diving into their pretty impressive offerings of food.I will for sure be doing that on my next visit-they had darn near everything you would expect a brewery to offer and it all looked so delicious. Well let's talk about why I was here-Pliny The Younger. I am 100% an IPA fan-it's always my beer of choice-So Pliny the Younger being a Triple IPA-I knew I was going to enjoy it.This beer historically is rated near 100 every year and this years release didn't disappoint.It was the smoothest triple I've ever had the pleasure of drinking and I've had more than a few in my day. This was the best Triple IPA I've ever had. Final thought-Was the experience worth it and would I do it again? Yes & Yes-my only regret is that I didn't do this many years ago when I first heard about it.I do plan on making this an annual pilgrimage. read more

I came here after stopping at Armstrong Redwoods to enjoy a nice glass of beer and some food but unfortunately my expectations were not met. The beer, as always, was great. However I ordered their Pliny fries which had a pool of oil the bottom of the bowl. I wasn't a fan of the flavor combo and the pickled jalapeños lacked flavor. I feel like pepperoncinis would have been a better fit for this dish. My friend got the burger and fries and said the burger was good and flavorful but that the fries were also very oily and lacked flavor. I appreciated that they saw us at the indoor bar with our pup. I haven't been up to Santa Rosa since the big brewery was completed and operational so I knew I had to stop by with the wife and my 14 month son. They were a little busy so we opted to sit in the bar area and they provided our son with a high chair. The server was very attentive and even interacted with our son a bit and made the whole experience very enjoyable and easier. Stopped by Russian River after a long travel day with our one year old on a Thursday evening. They had a bit of a wait for their dining area but we were able to be immediately seated in their bar area. The brewery is large and beautiful and if we had more time we would have loved to do a tour. Our server was attentive and efficient. The menu isn't extensive but there are enough options to please almost anyone. I really appreciated that they had a kid's menu as well. I went with a veggie burger and opted for grilled chicken with a Mac n'cheese side for out little one. He really enjoyed his dinner and seemed to enjoy people watching and interacting with our server and neighbors. They also have an outdoor beer garden area that we explored after dinner. This is the local brewery and restaurant near my dad's house and is always a go to spot for friends and family in town. They have the best selection of beers on tap, from local to Belgian styles, there's something for everyone. The service is fast and friendly with a lot of personality in each server. The food is usually great with typical American style choices, like burgers, wraps, fries, and great appetizers. This time I got the pulled pork sandwich with some barbecue sauce and my brothers got the kale salad with bacon. Both were very good. So many great beers, but if I had to choose one, it would be mind circus, hazy IPA. They have a normal dining area with table tops or booth seating, as well as a dog-friendly dining area near the bar that's also indoors. Outside, they allow drinks, but no food. How fun! Love their Happy Hops beer and was going through the area, so I had to stop! The flight was impressive and a lot of fun to go through. Probably could have split it, but wasn't feeling it that day. The sliders were perfectly cooked and didn't taste dried out at all. The server in the bar area was friendly but when it gets busy with after work people and he's pouring drinks for all the tables. But the bone-in rib appetizer was dry, and the fish tacos at our table came out cold. Had a great afternoon at this establishment!!! We shared a trio sampler from the Belgium brews (beer aged in wine barrels). Such a treat! We enjoyed a stout with our meal; I had the Pub sandwich, upgraded to the pliney fries and my man enjoyed the pork schnitzel sandwich with standard fries. We both enjoyed our meal (large portions) and brought leftovers home for dinner!!! Took the self guided tour after our meal, fascinating!! Everything was so clean and spotless!! First time coming to this location but it didn't disappoint! Huge space! Came with a group of 10 and 1 dog. Dog friendly both outside and inside which was great. We came to enjoy the Pliny but they have a great selection of different beer (and great prices too!) We had plans to eat elsewhere afterwards but couldn't help but order something to snack on while enjoying our drinks. Ordered the Pliny fries with added grilled onions, chicken wings with Pliny sauce and the vinnie's ice cream sundae for dessert. Pliny fries came with white cheddar fondue, jalapeños, garlic oil and the grilled onions we had added was a nice touch. Chicken wings were a nice size, cooked well and the sauce surprisingly had a good kick to it. Really good! Came with a side of celery, carrots and both blue cheese and ranch dipping sauce. Now that ice cream sundae? So good! Ice cream is made from scratch from the owner's recipe. The almonds are a great addition for the texture. Huge serving also! Service was great. Staff was attentive and checked on us often. We watched the World Cup game inside and when that was finished, went outside to play a few games of cornhole. It's free. Haven't been back in awhile, and saw that they changed their back outdoor space, yup, that's how long I haven't been here! We stopped drinking beers and got more into wine. But needed some mouth cleansing and we came back. The back outdoor space doesn't have a big grassy field anymore. It's replaced by sculptures and a bark, and a DG path. They also added some shade covers. It was raining so we didn't drink outside. We got some lunch. It's your basic burgers and sandwiches lunch place. I got a salad and added chicken. Just a basic Caesar salad, it was light and healthy. We got chicken wings (naked) with sauce on the side to start. That was good. If you get them naked and just dip, it's good! This is a huge property that makes their own beer and has some great bar food options. We landed at 7:30 pm and anyone who knows this area, it shuts down tight as a drum after 9 pm. We grabbed a seat and were told we had about 15 minutes before kitchen closed. We decided to all get beers and we ordered some wings. Friends ordered a wrap and fries. Food was very good and fresh and I love both of the different IPAs I ordered. Our bartender/server was just great...as nobody was really there, but he did not rush us or give us the heave ho as they were getting ready to close. The menu at the Windsor location is very different from that of the downtown Santa Rosa location. Arguably, slightly more upscale, and certainly more diverse, there's something for everyone to be found on the menu. The beers, of course, are the center of attraction, and those looking for IPAs won't be disappointed. As a matter of fact, we tasted through a flight of about seven IPAs, spanning the Hays profiled ones through the doubles and more heavily hopped offerings. Service was top notch, and it was nice that the server actually knocked off the tastings for a couple of the samplers we tried. They were hosting Food For Thought that day, and we're generously donating 50% of the proceeds to the charity. I'll raise a glass of that anytime. TL;DR: come for the beer and stay for the food and the very friendly service at the bar We were on a quick weekend trip in Santa Rosa and I had sold it in because of the city's proximity to Russian River Brewing, so of course this was our first stop of the day on our way back to SF. The facility is huge, and there is a ton of parking. I heard it gets insane when they release Pliny the Younger but it was very easy to get parking when we arrived. The restaurant is quite busy, and you can either have your drinks and food in the restaurant or bring your drinks outside to the patio. The patio is really nice with lots of dogs and families and Snoopy themed decor. Because the restaurant was kind of busy on a Sunday, we sat at the bar which was a very good idea - service was excellent and friendly, they were very helpful with choosing beers to sample and very efficient. They have a lot of beers available, all written out on the wall so this is a beer lovers paradise. I ordered a cider. Food was excellent, better than I expected for a place that is so well known for its beer. Fish tacos: crispy and generous sized pieces of fish in a taco topped with lots of coleslaw, salsa and onion Wings: got this with the Pliny sauce and ranch, the Pliny sauce was a little spicy in a good way and overall I liked it Fries: excellent fries, crispy exterior, fluffy interior, went great with the aioli or ranch or ketchup Coleslaw: good, probably didn't need to get this because we had so much food but I like coleslaw Salad: good salad, was perfect to round out the meal for some fiber After you're done feasting, you can do a free tour of the facility which was interesting and it was cool to see their set up from brewing to bottling. read more

Came out her on a weekday for the special Pliney the Younger release. Got here about 8:30am and were about 70th in line, which I hear is comparatively good, they came around stamping hands( they change up the stamp to prevent line jumping), then taking party size, name and applying bracelets. The bracelet limits each person to a max 3 pours of the Younger, and 3 bottle purchase. Got seated about 10:40 , but the wait flew by helped by the almost festival atmosphere amongst those in line(bonded and chatted with 3 guys next to us who had flown up from LA area just for this) 1st, every employee I encountered was friendly and service was top notch. Started with a taster of Russian River 110 and Tempo Change, both were nice, light, but not the reason I came 2+ hours on drive + another 2 in line. The Pliney Younger was as advertised, tasting and drinking lighter than its Triple IPA packing power . Orders some Riccotta donut holes to help ease the consumption of the 3 IPA's and they were fantastic, dense dobut, not overly sweet so the chocolate dipping sauce was a nice touch. Met a friend for dinner and a drink, and we sat at the bar. I was interested in a light brew, but was also intrigued by a beer described as "fruity" on the menu. The bartender offered me a generous sample, which helped me decide. I ordered the beer and fish & chips for dinner. The meal was delicious. Russian River Brewing was a major stopping point on my trip and I made an effort to go to the newer Windsor location for lunch one day. This brewery is huge, it's their main production facility but also has more space for dine-in and shopping. It's by itself in a field with tons of parking, which also seemed friendly to RVs, etc. The main entrance has separate doors for the self-guided and guide led tours, one for the company store and gift shop, and a main one for the brewery restaurant. To the right is a large outdoor area with tables for enjoying drinks and food outside. There's so much space. The self guided tour was quick, mostly basic information about brewing, the brewery itself and ability to see some of the production faculty below. The store is amazing; they have a ton of merchandise for people, pets, Pliny sauce, and of course beer. They have both cans and bottles, everything is priced separately so you can choose whatever you'd like. They also have a shipping option, they'll pack for the plane for $10 extra. The main area has a living style part with big comfy chairs, main dining room with lots of various sized tables, a semi-outdoor porch and multiple bar areas. I had the burger and two half pours that day; the food selection is much larger than at the OG. The staff was super nice. If you're a beer fan, this is a must visit! read more

We're big fans of Russian River Brewing in Santa Rosa, so were excited to check out the big Windsor location. It's quite a big facility, with tours, gift shop, indoor dining, and outside beer garden (no food allowed outside, so drinking only), all on vast and beautiful grounds. We went for dinner. The dining room is large with high ceilings, and was packed on a Saturday. The noise volume was through the roof! Looks like they have sound baffles, but they are not working. The tables are large, probably to accommodate the large flight racks, so spouse and I had to sit side by side to talk. They have a good variety of beers, although I wish they had more porters and stouts. We ordered a flight of all the Belgium beers, plus a few California beers. It was served in a nice rack with bottle cap labels, so it was easy to tell which was which. I ordered the fish tacos, which were very good, with breaded and fried cod, which was plentiful, and Cole slaw and avocado on the taco. Spouse ordered pork sliders which had fried onions and Cole slaw on the sliders. We were happy with both dishes and would order them again. The service was pretty quick, and our server seemed friendly, despite having to shout to be heard. All considered, a great meal, but the noise volume cost them a star. Visited on a Sunday, there was ample parking & no wait to be seated. The restaurant looked very new and clean. We sat near the bar, as it was Football Sunday the people I was with were disappointed there was only one TV to look at the games. The food was good, but I will say it was a little overpriced for what you get. The sweet potato tacos were 90% beans and pico de gallo, the other entree's seemed to be mainly fries, and the donuts were not great. I also assume we maybe came on a bad day, but after ordering it took a very long time to get our food & after food was delivered it took a very long time for anyone to check on us. The bathrooms were also really dirty with the sign saying nobody had cleaned it that day, this was confirmed by the lack of toilet paper, seat protectors, overflowing trash bins & beer glasses. I would come back again to take someone who might be visiting the area, but I don't think this will be a regular spot. read more
