I'm doing another update for Moonlight Brewing and the latest beer I had from this brewery was just as impressive as the first beer experience with them. This time we delved into a different beer that we haven't had from them before and we really enjoyed it just like the first time. This time the beer was an IPA by the name of Pallet Forager. We aren't always blown away by IPA'S but the ones we have had lately have been great which includes this one. Flavor highlights in this beer are hoppiness, fruitiness, juicyness, some sweetness and a bit of mango flavor. This IPA proved to be very refreshing and enjoyable. Love their "dark"beers. Reality Czech is my fave dark pilsner with Death & Taxes close behind. And they're about to release "Side of Rice" rice lager. If you haven't had a rice lager, they are lighter than wheat-based beers, and completely gluten-free. Though the beer tender told us that the beers are as close to gluten-free as they can be. A customer, who is celiac was there and he says he can drink it without a reaction. In a commercial park as many breweries are. Tables outside, music inside, typical parking lot scene. The Boucherie Cajun and French eats pop-up booth has creative good food. We had Black Eyed peas with cornbread, sweet peppers and elusive truffle oil. By far my favorite brewery in the area, as a fan of dark beers there Death & Taxes is by far my favorite beer. The staff is always friendly and makes you feel at home, they have small TV's to watch whatever game may be on. Sometimes even a food truck onsite. Moonlight goodness We were visiting a few of hidden micro breweries and found Moonlight brewing co. Interesting Vibe. It hosts an old warehouse building that just oozes character. Inside, you see concrete floors, graffiti walls, and rustic decor. It was not very busy when we arrived-but we were welcomed with a smile. Large seating area and bar area. This is in addition to my prior review. Beer is still outstanding. Staff continues to excel. This post is for their Wednesday night pub trivia (King Trivia). This is easily the best run trivia in Sonoma County. Quizmaster Matt is the constant professional and is great at his job. The contest is run on cell phones, so you don't have to deal with turning in pieces of paper. There usually is a food truck on site, so you'll have tasty food to go along with excellent beer & a fun couple of hours. I've been to a handful of pub trivia sites in the area and this is by far the best option. read more

Came back today. Another Saturday since we had a friend in town. We don't make it down here enough but the beers are so good and we had some foamies. Don helped us today. What an amazing person! Another (what appears to be) microbrewery in Santa Rosa, which I consider hiddem gems overshadowed by popular and touristy Russian River and Lagunitas. As with many microbrews, it's in a warehouse park and no issues finding parking here. They have some patio seating; dog friendly. Unique and apparently long-established beers, staff was ok but not exceptionally friendly as some of the other reviewers indicate. Came on a Friday evening and didn't see any food options, however. It's clear it's a local spot, just eat before you go. read more

I have always been a fan of their beers. This is a little tasting room / bar in an office park. It is NOT a white tablecloth restaurant or even a fancy gastropub. It IS a funky little place in a business park. Great place to have a beer and sit at the stone table with a view of the parking lot. read more

Met a Yelp buddy here for a couple brews - Ryn came over and had one with me, that's what I call a good dude. Moonlight has been around longer than most breweries in the area, but it stays a very casual place to have a couple or 3. The lounging room looks like they work there all day then set it up for the evening. There is a small bar up front as you walk in the door with all of their taps. Shannon was our beer tender that day - very sharp and knowledgeable. She told us that the Brewer is NOT a huge HOP Fan, however, he uses them in moderation. Their Pilsner is one of the best around named Reality Czech, the IPA is tasty, and Death & Taxes is a dark lager - kind of their Cash Cow as it's been around for a long time, it's an OG Craft Brew. We also tried a Red Ale and a Gruet (might be the same thing) that has depth and bitterness but made with no hops. Someone said the trend is going away from Hops - Hahahahaha, no it's not, but your beers are excellent!! read more

Great place to come by and have a beer. We live around the corner so we are here at least once a month. Beer is delicious, bar tenders are friendly and helpful. My 3 star review is based on the beer offered. Not the brewery as a whole, atmosphere or service. Moonlight Brewery is well known for their Death and Taxes and specialize in a variety of Lagers. Since I am an IPA girl, I wanted to see what else these guys had to offer. Seeing an IPA on their Yelp photos, I decided to stop by and give it a try seeking that bitter bite. I love to make my rounds to the brewery but this brewery wasn't a palete pleaser for me. This is a nice brewery tucked in a business strip off Coffey Lane. I enjoyed the layout as I found there to be plenty of seating. The gentleman serving me was very nice and I found to have a nice conversation with him. Wish I knew his name. He was very attentive and kept checking in with me which is always appreciated. The bathrooms were very clean, especially since they are ALL GENDER bathrooms. They smelt clean for having urinals in them. Sorry guys.... not trying to say men are messy but men restrooms tend to have more odor. And these are in great shape. I'd consider coming back if I was in a group that wanted to make the rounds. But as a solo, I'd pass it up. Just nothing here for me. read more

What's not to love about this place?! We are so fortunate to live within walking distance to Moonlight. With COVID, it's been our go to spot. Not only do they create amazing beers but the food trucks/tents that have been coming in pair perfectly! If you are looking to get away from IPA's and boring beers, Moonlight is the place to tickle your tastebuds with something new. Every time we think we know our favorite, a new one will come out that takes its place. Death and Taxes may be our go to, but that's not perfect for every day. Have wanted to come here to taste for a long time. All I really knew of Moonlight was their beer Death and taxes, I have like this beer for years. I am very very sorry to say I can't say I'm a fan of the other offerings I sampled. I did the sampler, a collection of pilsners, pale ales and lagers, there was one IPA...other than the D&Ts that I have always liked, I wasn't really a fan of the other beers. I found them just to light for me. When I entered there was a gal at the bar talking to a customer...no hello, no I'll be with you in a min....just a look and back to her conversation...I didn't appreciate that, way to many places to get a beer to accept being ignored, they weren't busy at all. If I were a business owner the first thing I would have my employees understand is that. we are only here because of the customer...treat them well. In any case the fact that I didn't dig the beers, the fact that service got off to a rocky start and fact that there is no ambiance at all, pretty much means I won't be back. Stop #4 on our Sonoma County Brewery tour. Let's get this out of the way, Moonlight is my favorite brewery in Sonoma County. Do they have the best tap room and ambiance, nope you are in an industrial warehouse sitting next to tanks and mixers. Do they have convenient hours, nope they currently open only Friday - Sunday (will soon change with a scheduled expansion). The reason why its my favorite is the BEERS. For me they are the best. The finished beers attain outstanding flavor without pumping up the alcohol to silly levels. All the beers are excellent and all are below 6% alcohol. Our group enjoyed Reality Czeck Pilsner, Death and Taxes (my favorite), Bombay by Boat IPA and Misspent Youth Pale Ale. The brew team headed up by Brian Lynch are truly experts and I look forward to anything new that goes on the menu. Look forward to the expanded tap room and expanded hours coming in the next few months. read more

My boyfriend and stopped by for a couple beers each before going to airport cinema to see a movie. My boyfriend LOVES their "Death and Taxes" lager. I'm not normally a lager drinker but it does taste good. He also tried a 5 ounce of a red ake I can't remember what it was called, cask temperature. It was a red ale and it tasted really good. I tried a pint of "Misspent Youth" pale ale. I absolutely loved it. A little tiny bit sweet but the perfect amount of sweetness and a great after taste. I also tried a 5 oz of beer, "legal tender" that was brewed with herbs. Tasty but not something I would have read more

I have been a fan of Moonlight beer for years and was super delighted to visit the brewery finally!! They are located in a business warehouse center area but they had a chalk board sign up telling you they were around the corner. Plenty of parking too! We were on a beer road trip with our pup and Moonlight is dog friendly, they even have Charlie Bears on hand. It's a dog treat brand for the non-pup parents. When you first walk in you are in front of the bar! I ordered a flight and took a seat on one of the pony-keg stools they have (adorable) and didn't venture into the back of the venue. There was a beer tour bus there too! They have swag available and their bathroom is very clean. I will be going back soon. read more

Wandering around Salida looking for lunch and a beer/drink. Happened on Moonlight and so happy we did. The service by Tiffany was outstanding, it had a great vibe from start to finish. The pale ale was good, Moscow Mule was really good. Had a Caesar and House salad. Both were fresh and delicious with homemade dressing. The pizza was amazing, the crust clearly not packaged. The gluten free pizza had enough sauce on it that it actually had sauce on top of the crust not just baked into it (if you eat gluten free you get it). This is a sure bet for everyone. read more
