We hired Diana as a full-service wedding planner for our wedding at The Meritage Resort in September 2025. Diana was an AMAZING wedding planner!! I'll break my review up into two components (plannings vs. day of), but our day could not have been more perfect or run more smoothly thanks to her and her team. Planning: From the start, we were impressed by Diana's organization and pragmatism. She has a great sense of what is "worth it" in terms of budget, and how to maximize impact for things like décor and flowers. This was extremely helpful, as we felt as though we were making good use of our budget, and were not pressured to overspend in any way. Choosing individual vendors was something that really overwhelmed me (there are so many great options!). Diana made this process seamless! At the start of our planning journey, we had a long discussion about what we were looking for in each vendor (e.g., photography style, entertainment type, floral colors, etc.) and our budget. She would send us 3-5 recommendations for each vendor and we would review and discuss. Obviously, if we wanted to see more options she would send them, but this really cut down on our stress and made this part of planning very straightforward. She also went through the entire design process with us, and put together a very detailed and helpful "mood board" that she shared with our florist, making that process super easy as well. Additionally, she was also extremely helpful in managing our vendors without letting us feel any stress. Our venue created some difficulties and could be frustrating to work with at times, and Diana did a TON of work in the background / back channeled with them to resolve any issues and keep things running smoothly. As we got closer to the day of, we had additional calls with her and all of our vendors to discuss the timeline. Diana created a VERY detailed, easy-to-follow timeline for the day before and day of. She also made a version for our families and bridal party that we could circulate. It was extremely helpful to have all of the timeline information in one place, and have the assurance that all of our vendors were on board with the timeline and could execute it easily. Day Of: Our day of could not have been better thanks to Diana and her team! They arrived early to the venue and ensured that everything was moving along with set up at the ceremony site and in the ballroom. My husband and I truly felt no stress the day of because we knew that all of the vendors were prepared and Diana was on it. We had a few timeline-related hiccups later in the day when our ceremony ran long (not Diana's fault!!) and she was quick to step in and make on-the-fly changes for the rest of the evening to make sure that things kept running smoothly. And the whole day was totally seamless as a result! All in all, I would wholeheartedly recommend Diana for any wedding or event planning. We worked with Diana for the past year and a half to plan our wedding, and our experience with her and her team was unmatched. I was overwhelmed with the wedding planning process and knew I needed help to pull off our ideas for the day. Our wedding was based in San Francisco, with a church ceremony in the city and our reception on Treasure Island. Very disappointed. Hired Diana for my daughter's wedding October 2024 and we were given very subpar service. My daughter didn't want a lavish wedding but wanted a very nice memorable event with execution and guidance from a month of planner. My daughter lives out of state, but from the Bay Area, and Diana has great reviews so we thought this will work.....we will get guidance and execution...with some beautiful touches. I am detailed oriented so I thought this will be a good fit. In my opinion Diana failed on all aspects of month of coordination and delivery. While I didn't expect a planner as we hired a month of coordinator, I expected a month of guide and someone to execute the finer details. We did the venue walk through a week before as she only gave me two dates that would work for her busy schedule. I always felt like we were very low priority for her. We were given a standard "to do" timeline --very much like what is found online, but the personal guidance wasn't there. I uploaded documents to the portal and I could tell she never looked at our portal prior to our meetings. I wasn't going to write a review as giving negative feedback is something I really dislike doing, but Diana and her helper blew it when they did not remember to help my daughter get her bouquet as she was getting ready to walk down the aisle. It was my son who noticed after she had walked down the aisle, and he ran to get it for her.....Diana and her helper never seemed to notice. I will never get that moment back to capture my daughter with her dad and her bouquet walking down the aisle. You and your helper were supposed to be helping my daughter before she came down for vows, and your helper said I didn't need to help as you had it under control. Isn't that your job....to execute details? My mistake to trust you had it under control. I will leave out some of the disappointing issues at the reception site. You did do some nice things, and I thank you for showing up and giving it a bit of effort, but if you want someone to hustle and give all their effortand execute you should look elsewhere. Diana was our coordinator for our wedding in August 2021. We had the pleasure of getting to know and work with her for the past two years (2019-2021). We first heard about Diana through the recommended coordinators list for our reception venue. I was impressed with the services she offered and knew she would be easy and great to work with after just one phone call. She is very sweet, kind, and such a wonderful person to talk to and be around! Diana knows the wedding industry inside and out and my husband and I feel very fortunate to have hired her. We initially hired Diana for the four weeks prior to our original wedding date in October 2020, but months after postponing we decided to hire her full time. This was honestly the best decision we made and it was worth every penny. Diana made sure everything was handled, kept us accountable and organized, and always made herself available to review anything we were working on and answer questions. We interviewed a few day-of-coordinators for our wedding but we chose Diana because of her positive attitude and lack of drama. In phone conversations, other coordinators stressed us out about the process, and spoke in a way that didn't make us feel like they would be the calm and composed people we wanted executing on our plans for the day. Diana on the other hand was positive and approached everything with the attitude that no problems would be too big to figure out. Leading up to the event Diana went above and beyond to learn about our venue, which was new to her. She took up the venue's offer to do a private tour a few months before the wedding, and she showed up to our official site visit prepared and knowledgeable about the location. Leading up to the day she sent us templates to fill out which allowed us to easily transfer our plan to her and her team. We had one comprehensive meeting the week before the wedding where we walked through every detail and finalized our timeline. At that point Diana took on communicating these details to all our vendors and finalizing last minute things so we could focus on getting ready for our guests. Three days before our wedding PG&E began one of its largest power shutoffs and it impacted the Santa Cruz Mountains. We received a call from the venue on Thursday morning that there was no power at the site and we didn't know when it would turn back on. We called Diana to discuss our backup plans and that was when we really felt the benefits of having chosen Diana for her positive outlook. Instead of reacting like the world was ending and that our wedding would be a disaster, she calmly asked us several questions about the site and what the implications of the outage would be. She spoke with our caterer about making menu changes to accommodate the lack of power, and took that off of our plate for the day which was great. In the end, the power ended coming back on late on Friday night, so we didn't need all the changes we had talked about making, but the way Diana approached the situation with support and positivity was greatly appreciated. On the day of Diana and her team executed our vision perfectly. Coming down from the ceremony and seeing the reception for the first time was so stunning and it was amazing how well they brought everything to life. We repurposed things from the ceremony site down to the reception and Diana and her team made the transitions seamlessly. At the end of the night they packed everything up safely and saved everything so it was easy for us to unpack and organize when we got home. In the end, choosing Diana and Simply Elegant Events was a decision that helped to make our wedding stress-free, seamless, and beautiful. I hired Diana to be the day-of coordinator for my wedding and she was AMAZING. She was recommended by our venue (the faculty club at Cal) and I was told by them that everything goes smoothly when she is involved. They were right. I was planning my wedding from the east coast and she was super accommodating and helpful talking with me on Skype, dealing with the time difference on phone calls and meeting with me when I was in town over the holidays. She really went out of the way. There were so many things I hadn't thought about or knew needed to be fleshed out, but she's done this so many times, she new all logistics to think through that I would otherwise have overlooked (like how much time/music is needed for the bridal party to walk down the isle for example.) There were also some day-of issues that she took care of and fixed (for example, the band needed way more space for their equipment) I didn't even know that their were any issues until the next day because she handled it all and made great calls. She and her team also set up all the decorations I rented, and took down and packed it all back up. Not only did they do a fantastic and beautiful job setting it all up - it's a huge deal logistically. I'll post pictures soon.
