Customer service should be the most important thing to any store. Whenever I walk in the first thing I hear from the front desk is "hi, if there's anything I can help you with let me know" which is amazing. Pharmaceutically it's a different story. Always having an issue getting prescriptions that are in no way difficult. For example: I needed a refill on my inhaler (which I've only gotten once or twice) has been an issue. They need to call my doctor which takes a few days and I have to go a few days of dying at the gym. While trying to get my girlfriends birth control pills they tell me the same, call the insurance company and doctor, then after arguing and waiting appropriately, they switched her birth control pills. If anyone knows what that's like, it's awful. YOU ARE NOT A DOCTOR you cannot change prescriptions it is NOT LEGAL. If this happens again the police will be contacted. I switched to Walgreens because they are consistently the worst pharmacy around. I advise all to switch or at minimum CHECK YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS. She called to make sure her pills were in today, the guy on the phone called her a liar and said call back another time and hung up. Ps. The manager has contacted my girlfriend to stop emailing corporate to cover his own ass, so they are not afraid of making your service hell and trying to cover their mistakes by trying to scare the customer into not voicing their opinions. You should avoid using this pharmacy, all of the employees seem to know what they are doing and a lot are not so friendly. The wait times are absurd, suggest using anywhere else if possible. read more

My first ever posting. Total disregard for people's time. My doctor called in a script at 3:00 came to pick it up at 7:00 not ready. Lines every where people disgusted. Hello, I am 38 weeks pregnant and it is not easy for me to move around. The prescription I am STILL waiting for to be complete is a blood thinner that is an absolute necessity at this stage of my pregnancy. 1. I attempted to pick up my pers. on 7/10 b/c I was told it was ready. When I got there the man in the window told me my insurance needed to be updated. I told him no problem I will call him when I am home to update it. I called the lady told me they don't take insurance over the phone, why did the guy in the window tell me I could? 2. I came back the next day on 7/11 to pick it up and update my insurance. They gave me my pers. with NO syringes and did not even let me know. Along with that the lady gave me a hard time about updating my info all while rolling her eyes and walking away from me to let me know I would have to wait 15 more minutes, 3. I called later in the day to see if the syringes were ready and they told me I have to wait until 5pm tomorrow (7/12, day three now). When I asked why no one called to inform me of this or the fact that my insurance needed to be updated the day prior STEVE one of the employees yelled at me several times over the phone while speaking over me every chance he got and then abruptly placed me on hold for 10 minutes until I was able to speak with KEVIN who asked me what the arguments was about. There is absolutely NO COMMUNICATION or professional customer service there at all and it is extremely unfortunate. I have been going to them with my family since we moved here in 2001 and this is the most unfriendliest unhelpful group of people working back there that I have ever encountered. read more

I am officially DONE with CVS in New City. Rude employees, constant prescription errors. Notifying me that a prescription is ready and when I get there it's not. Yesterday was the last straw. They didn't have my prescription in stock and told me to try their Bardonia location, I asked the girl to call to see if they have it before I drive over and she refused! I went to Clarkstown Pharmacy (Decicco shopping center) and they had it for me in 10 minutes. Really nice people. Give your business to local people whenever possible! read more

The only time I come to drop-off prescriptions are at 7 AM (and it's deserted) when I go to the gym next door. Otherwise they are too short-staffed, and the wait too long. I often find that I'll give them a coupon for a prescription at drop-off, and then when I come to pick it up later, find that the coupon was never applied in their system. So the prescription goes back to whoever for application of the coupon, and I end up waiting another 10-15 minutes. Aggravating. I've also had the same experience as Paul with the flu shot - being told to come right over, and then waiting an hour. read more

Glad to see a thriving pharmacy business but the staff seems miserable and greet you with an arrogance as if taking care of customers is a favor they are doing for you. Worst Pharmacy ever. The people at the window have no idea what they're doing. There's this girl that works there with red hair and a blank stare, if you see her when you pull up just drive away. She has no idea what she's doing and she messed up mine and my boyfriends prescription twice in the same week. They're rude, inconsiderate, and not helpful at all. CVS - New City is horrific! When someone is ill they do not want to wait HOURS for their prescription. One of the male pharmacists is so rude and acts like it's a chore to fill your prescription. They constantly run of out common medications which leaves me scrambling looking for a way to get them. I am having a problem getting a medication today and have spent 4 hours on the phone trying to work it out only to find that CVS is where the issue started. They labeled my son's 10 day prescription as a 30 supply. Now we've run out on day 8 and their solution was for me to pay $78.00 for another bottle since the insurance company won't let me refill it yet. Poor customer service is NEVER acceptable. read more

I felt invisible for 10 minutes waiting on line. Around 4 people that came to the line next to me were helped before me. When I was helped I felt like I really wasn't wanted there. They didn't look me in the face once. Terrible. read more

I am disgusted by the treatment I received this evening by a new employee Giulene. She was rude, condescending and arrogant. She was unprofessional and taunted me with her responses over a coupon expiring by 2 minutes. I searched throughout the store for a balloon for my son and couldn't find an associate or the balloons that are usually displayed throughout the year. I approached the register to which I seem to of interrupted Giulenes national Enquirer reading. She was unfriendly and said that she that she was not going to honor the coupon I had because it was expired even if it was minutes. I asked her for a manager and she snarckly responded with "I am the only one" I have been a very loyal customer to CVS, out of all the years shopping there I have never experienced such disrespect and attitude over a coupon. She obviously has no training and should not work with the public. I was calm, kind and taken back by her behavior. I will reconsider shopping at CVS unless she is gone. read more

I'll try to keep this brief, because I could go on a weeklong rant about the arrogant, sloppy, rude pharmacists at this location. I wound up with this CVS when my neighborhood pharmacy closed a few years back and quickly discovered I did not wish to do business with them. They can't be bothered to answer the simplest question. They will not trouble themselves to put in a phone call to the doctor for you. They make serious mistakes (name of wrong doctor on scrip, won't change it when you point it out) Much eye-rolling, smirking and, yeah, yeah, yeah ensues whenever I tried to get help or complain that I was not getting proper service. Sadly, today I found out that the mom-and-pop pharmacy I fled to when I left CVS has also been swallowed up by this behemoth and my prescriptions transferred to them. I just called the CVS in New City, as it was the number posted on my pharmacy's darkened windows. Lo and behold, I got the same pissy attitude on the phone that I experienced when I last dealt with them. Either nasty attitude is the prime requisite for employment there or my record with them says "Be as smarmy and disrespectful as possible to this old bat." I wish I could find someone to talk to who would tell me how to transfer my prescriptions to another local family pharmacy. Sigh . . read more
