Blatant Discrimination and Homophobia at CVS - Pharmacist Sarah Should Be Held Accountable WE HAVE VIDEO If I could leave zero stars, I would. While visiting from California, my boyfriend attempted to purchase syringes for his testosterone at this CVS, a purchase fully legal under Georgia law without a prescription (and yes, he also showed her his prescription). The pharmacist, Sarah, flat-out REFUSED to sell them. Her reasoning? "It was her personal judgment." Let me repeat: a CVS pharmacist denied a LEGAL, medically necessary purchase because of her personal judgment. This blatant abuse of power didn't stop there--it became clear this decision was rooted in homophobia. Two gay men walk in needing syringes for hormone therapy, and her response is to discriminate and deny care? This isn't just unethical--it's illegal, prejudiced, and dangerous. Pharmacists are licensed to uphold public health and dispense medication, not enforce their personal biases. Sarah has no business working in healthcare and should immediately lose her license. Our next steps include reporting this incident to: * Georgia State Board of Pharmacy * Georgia Department of Public Health * Corporate CVS Customer Relations * The ACLU This level of discrimination will not go unnoticed, and I urge CVS to take immediate action against this pharmacist. No one deserves to be humiliated or denied medical care based on who they are. CVS should educate their staff about both legal requirements and basic human decency before trusting them to interact with the public. Avoid this location at all costs, especially if you're LGBTQ+ or require hormone-related medical supplies. This is NOT a safe or professional environment.

    Tamika, sooo helpful!!!

I transferred my scripts to this location from another CVS. The transition was seamless since all locations are connected by computer. The toughest part was trying to talk to my previous CVS. They've become so busy that their customer service left orbit on an Elon Musk rocket, it's now at maximum dynamic pressure! The CVS at 842 Peachtree Street was fabulous! My script was ready 2 hours prior to the promised time!! The pharmacy Tech was very friendly and professional. I used my CVS app to prepay so all she needed to do was scan my barcode. I had a 40% off coupon so I decided to use it on this visit. The associate working the checkout was so very helpful and knowledgeable about the CVS app and how things work. Tamika solved a problem I'd been experiencing with the app for the past year and it took only about one minute! My old location would simply become a bit agitated but never figured out what the problem was. Tamika figured it out in no time and was friendly while doing a professional job! This is a great store with great professionals! I will continue to frequent this location!

Me waiting after my fall for more than 30 mins for any employee to offer assistance.

Why has CVS not addressed my concerns regarding the events of 7/2/21 in their 842 Peachtree location in Atlanta? Why not? Because the layout of that store (no accessible seating by the RX drop off windows, or a cardboard end-cap blocking the inside of the front of the aisle), wa not ADA compliant? Maybe they have not addressed my concerns because corporate CVS has a systemic lack of decency that trickles down to their retail stores? I experienced through that store's abuse, not to mention the neglect, through a refusal by any pharmacy or retail store employee to assist a disabled person who fell on the floor in sight of the pharmacists, even though I consistently yelled out for help for over a period of 30 minutes? Did the CVS crew find it amusing to watch a person with disabilities be humiliated and ignored? Humiliated? Yes. Ignored? Yes. But empowered to spread the word that persons with disabilities demand CVS to respect us and treat us like human beings. CVS marginalizes persons with challenges? I sure hope social justice warriors remember "disability" is STILL the silent "d" in "diversity." I am person with disabilities (severe peripheral neuropathy in my feet from chemotherapy to address cancer).

Wanted to come here to use my Starbucks and get some things. Haven't been in about a year or so…read morebecause it's not the closest to me but it's a nice size. I do like how it's right near a train station so you don't have to drive there. It's right near a food court and hotels too so very convenient. It has two levels and I was greeted and asked if I needed help by some employees which was nice. I asked where an item was and was given a decent response. Place was busy and I got what I came for. The only take away and it's not the stores fault is the people outside the store . This guy was trying to get my attention when he saw me looking around and got rude when I ignored him.

Odd may best describe this CVS location. First and foremost is that this is a two story location…read more One that allows you to enter from the street and one that will allow you to enter through the Hub. The downstairs portion is is where the pharmacy and medication is located. The upstairs portion is everything else that a CVS has to offer. Both sections have the ability to offer checkout...when that section is open. I came here on my first day to get drinks and snacks for my room. I entered through the Hub and made my way up the rickety steps. The steps that were open sometimes. See, I came back a few more time sand the steps had rope across and were barricaded. Making you have to take the slow elevator with other people since there was no other way to get up or down the stairs. My first visit here I had made my selections and headed towards the self checkouts. I kid you not, when I got to them, they actively started to shut them down. Forcing everyone to use the traditional registers. I wish the customer service here would have been better as well. I asked a question about the area and kind of got the 'don't bother me' vibe in the answer.

I live near here and had never heard of this pharmacy. My doctors had not either. I found it…read moreshopping drug prices on the website of my medical plan. At least on my plan (and this varies depending on what plan and so much more) it was the lowest cost around I could find. This pharmacy has no sign, no storefront. Its located on the first floor of an office building by the Jewish Temple, which also owns the building. Its in with AID Atlanta. You can park for free in the parking deck behind. Then walk to the front door, enter, turn left on ground floor and if there is someone at the desk just turn right and say your going to the pharmacy. Its just down the hall on your left, with a sign by door AHF Pharmacy. AHF has offices around the country. Not a lot of them but there is also a branch in Lithonia and on Cheshire Bridge. Check the website. It is a NONPROFIT and 96c of each dollar earned goes back to the community in treating mostly HIV and its not just in the USA. They have programs in Africa too to help those in need there. So if you fill your prescriptions here profits go to people in need rather than big corporate operations. That might be important to you. There are 2 people that work here and they close for lunch from 12:00N to 12:30pm. I was very happy to get prescriptions filled with no hassle and the best possible price, although again your plan you have is what really controls the price for most people. Knowing that 96c of every dollar made on my prescriptions helps those in need is enough right there to steer me here! FYI MY health plan is AMBETTER. They do let me use many of the other major pharmacies in the area but their website preloaded this location first and since I went and liked it thats where I will stay as long as the arrangement lasts. They also do mail order! That can be quite convenient. I'm retired and live near so its not a problem to stop in early in the day, but FYI PM traffic almost anywhere in Atlanta after 300p can be a hassle, so try the mail order if you like. I have done that with other pharmacies and that works well and saves a drive if pick up is not convenient. For most normal hour works mail order is the way to go. For mail order call toll free 855-894-6337.

However, I do prefer shopping at the Kroger next door if I'm in the area, and I tend to limit my trips to this Publix for last-minute items I need when I'm shopping at Ansley Mall. Having a Suntrust branch located inside the store is a great touch. It's super-convenient to be able to bank and shop at the same place. I also think the produce section is nice, but the layout can be a little cramped and crowded during peak shopping times. If you're a Publix fan, you won't be disappointed. It can be tricky finding gluten free items as they are mixed in with the regular items. Perhaps if I shopped here more often, I'd figure it out!

They constantly override prescriptions written by my doctor saying that have expired when in reality I have 3 months left of refills and somehow someway these prescriptions just disappear and these are considered "controlled prescriptions!" Need I say more? Yes the Publix Pharmacy located on 10th Street is just as horrible! And the Pharmacist and techs at both these pharmacies have absolutely no social skills as well! Have your prescriptions filled at your own risk! And this is the first time I have ever found it necessary to write about a Pharmacy or Pharmacists!
