This is the type of place I'd come when I need a gift for someone but don't have anything in mind. It's just a cute store with all types of fun, celebratory, and/or seasonal unique items one might purchase as gifts or to keep for themself. Today I bought a set of birthday week surprise boxes--a set of 7 colorful miniature boxes for someone to open each day on their birthday week (or likely the week leading up to their birthday). Each box is supposed to contain something joyful, like maybe a little popper or a birthday message. Currently the seasonal items they have out include UGA football, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. There are also sections of wedding, baby, and birthday themes items, as well as things that are good for a "just because" gift. This place is a time capsule- wonderful store, charismatic pharmacist who truly cares, but a rude clerk. Okay, so everyone can have an off day- this is not the case. This woman was repeatedly Kurt, abrupt, & dismissive to me. Sadly, it's the reason I switched pharmacies... her and because they do not take GoodRX. I still miss going to the store. It's stuffed with high quality, vast variety of items. This includes the basics you need for good hygiene, sensational lotion/candles, softest pjs (adults), scented oil for candles, & let's just say great gifts. All of that with the feel of 1980s shopping experience- no screens or overly bright gimmicky things- simply good products ready for you. Enjoy! Check them out. They are always helpful and kind here. You can always speak to a pharmacist on the phone. Once I went to get medicine for my sister when she was sick and the pharmacist came out from behind the counter to make a recommendation based on her symptoms. I went in for the first time as I was in the area and saw they had cute decor in the storefront. The store is staffed by young high school age individuals that act like I was bothering them two hours before closing time. I asked for a price check on two items that had no price. I bought one and did not get one item. I get home and noticed every fee was higher on the receipt than on each item & that I was charged for the item I didn't get. I drove all the way back a week later and the young cashier said it was because tax was added to each item. The receipt shows the tax additional charge total added at bottom, so he says he will go get the manager. She comes & says that the higher charge is because of the 3 percent up charge for credit cards. There is no sign anywhere that says this, and she says there is a sign on the front door so we don't mention it. I ask for refund for item I didn't buy and she says well the manager isn't here, you will have to come back to see if he will allow it. I ask allow me to pay for an item I didn't get? She said yes and he's not here. I mention I do not live near here and came back just for this and she says, well he's not here I can't help you. What kind of poorly run business is this? Beware. I love this pharmacy! We used to go to Walgreens (Howell Mill Rd) but Walgreens was always busy, could never get anyone on the phone, and also did not have our medications in stock. Since switching to Wender and Roberts, we no longer have these issues! They are always so friendly and nice to speak with. This is a small local pharmacy that has been around for many years. They can get anything your doctor orders. They can flavor meds for kids. It seems small but it's a connection to a COMPLETE selection of meds and medical devices. They compound and can order home health supplies as well as meds for IV pumps. They follow all state and federal guidelines so they are very safe and competent. I trust them with my life for over 22 years. They do COVID19 tests and vac. Please check them out. Convenient to I-75, and 41. Close to TRUIST park. They also deliver to the large amount of buildings nearby. From infants to seniors, they have or can get anything your doctor request. Yes, pharmacist Melanie Germany and others are helpful and efficient, but I go to W&R for more frivolous reasons. Wonderful selection of little gifts, from cocktail napkins to small serving dishes, candles to picture frames, barrettes, jewelry, funny note cards and more. Good selection of the darling Cinda b. bags, phone cases, etc. Fun makeup picks of expected brands (OPI polish and the like) and unique ones you might not know about. Solid Burt's Bees stash. Small but fun selection of gifts for kids. They even have Haribo gummy bears in the little packets by the check-out! Love. If I could give the pharmacy 0 stars I would. Today was the second time I have been in to pick up a prescription and the second time I have been yelled at by someone behind the counter of the pharmacy. The customer service was terrible and totally uncalled for. A man was 2 aisles away from the register and as I was approaching she screamed "ma'am im with a customer" as if I should have magically known this man 2 aisles away looking for bandaids was already being helped. I've seen I'm not the first to complain about the bad manners of the employees... So strange that a business who clearly has been around forever would allow this kind of behavior. This has to be the worst run places ever. The customer server here in both the pharmacy and the front area is terrible. They do not appreciate your business at all. With drug stores and everything else going the way of the internet you would think that they would understand that customer service is the way to get people to stay and keep and grow you business. Not this place. They scare you away and make sure you tell others not to come back. Everything in the store is over priced and can be bought cheaper any where! I really like this pharmacy. They are well staffed, prescriptions are quick to fill and it has a charm to it that I really miss. You can also find all kinds of neat things to buy while waiting for your prescriptions. I was tired of going to Walgreens so I decided to come here and even though it takes me 10-15 mins to get here (vs. the 5 mins to Walgreens) I will make the trip because I love these kinds of pharmacies and we definitely need more of them. Yes, pharmacy... that's correct.. But more importantly, duh, they sell my favorite perfume brand and all products appropriate for bestowing gifts of joy, or hoarding. Oh look, two of my favorite things to consciously abuse: my need to give unnecessary gifts to others , or indulge my nail polish issues. Wender & Roberts is a solid stop for most things. It's like a Richard's Variety Store made a love child with CVS, yet without the dusty smell and more charm. I love wasting my time and money here. But hey! They have a Yelp Deal, 25% off any OTC Item with a New RX. I will probably never use this. But maybe YOU WILL. Just a thought, thanks Yelp! Wender & Roberts can prepare you for a seasonal party, by consistently carrying holiday items. Expect to find your summer-needs, from sunscreen, aloe, tote bags, Tervis hot/cold mugs, trendy sunglasses and more. They carry OPI and Butter nail polishes, makeup lines, all occasion cards, HOBO, purses and jewelry, kids toys, baby goods, travel goods...I could go on. Really, I could. I practically know the inventory it's pathetic. Located in the same division as Publix, OK Cafe, Starbucks et al, there is no reason you shouldn't drop by and take a look. I have been a customer at Wender & Roberts Drugs for 32 years! I used their Sandy Springs location for a long time and the past 20+ years I have used the Roswell location. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am that this little "hometown" feeling drug store has survived the large chain "customer no service" pharmacies! This drug store makes you feel like you have walked back in time. You walk in and they actually call you by name and tell you how glad they are to see you! Then they ask how your mom is since she got out of the hospital and how did that last prescription work out for you! They even deliver prescriptions to my home if I just don't feel good enough to get out to go pick them up! Yes, you may pay a few cents more for some of their products. But I, for one, would pay a lot more cents for the service that this store gives. They have an in house charge account, they carry very hard to find items in the store, and have a section of wheelchairs and medical supplies that most places have to order for you. They are just hard to beat any way you look at it. When you take a prescription in, its usually ready within 10 minutes. I tried CVS for my mom one day and I was told I would have to leave the prescription and pick it up later. FOUR HOURS LATER, IT STILL WAS NOT READY.......AND NO APOLOGY WAS EVEN OFFERED. Just for a comparison, I tried Rite Aid the next week. Same thing. They actually close their pharmacy for an hour in the afternoons! Can you believe it? Their pharmacists are wonderful. Johnny Barker is part of a dying breed of pharmacists that could probably recite every drug I've ever taken and whether or not it worked for me! He truly care about his customers. This past summer he actually brought me some tomatoes! Can you imagine going into Walgreens and having the pharmacist say that he had brought you some tomatoes???? I don't think so! I've had some good experiences here and a couple really bad ones. Most recently, I requested a medication refill a few days before I ran out. I was told it would have to be ordered, they would have it the next day, and I'd be notified when it was in. A couple days later I used my last dose and called to see if I could pick up the refill. The woman told me they still didn't have it and that orders wouldn't be in until the following evening. Unfortunately, no one bothered to call and let me know there was going to be a three day delay, and it's too late for me to get it anywhere else (no one has it in stock). So I am now going to be going through withdrawal until they get the med in. I'll be transferring my Rxs to another pharmacy. read more

I've been going to Wender and Roberts since I was in high school and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Erin and Melanie know your name, the name of your children and probably your grandchildren keeping the idea of a family pharmacy intact. You couldn't get more cordial service anywhere I know of and I've never heard a rude comment. And I've have certainly heard a few customers being rude! Top of the line service, always willing to stay and finish an RX for you, explain things to you, and get you the best possible price they can. They will also try to get a specific brand for you if possible if it's not in stock. This is the kind of service you can't beat. David the newest pharmacist fits right in, and Beverly and Ruth are also great with customer service and a smile. No reason to take my business any other place. They also have lots of fun soaps and candles, a variety of excellent shampoos and the best reading glasses ever for 20.00. Every month they have new products to try so it's fun to browse while you wait for your prescriptions or just pick up a magazine and read. They also deliver. read more

CVS has been OK but they have really let us down, twice. Wender and Roberts have saved us twice. We used CVS for all our pharmacy needs, until now. Here's why. A couple years ago, my wife suffered from a serious internal issue and her Dr. prescribed one of the most powerful antibiotics available. CVS could not fill the prescription without a 3-5 day wait and offered no alternative except "wait". Wender and Roberts filled it while we waited. Today, My Dr prescribed a powerful narcotic based cough syrup so I could sleep instead of laying awake all night coughing. CVS suggested I call the Dr. and ask him for something else. It was only 4 fluid oz's but CVS did not have it in stock and gave me their 3-5 day speel. I tried 5 CVS's before I remembered Wender and Roberts. They filled it while I waited. Thanks Wender and Roberts. You've got our business now. read more

This is a great "old time" spot. Not only is it a pharmacy but they have all kinds of fun nik naks that are great for any occasion. Super easy to run in and grab something great; this is if it's a calm part of the day as the parking lot can be crazy at times. But that's no fault of theirs just a busy area. read more

Waited for over 5 hours for prescription refill/ on hold for over 7 minutes and hung up on/ called again to find out the order was even put in. When I called to see when prescription might be ready I was told an estimated time could not be given?? Pleasant customer service but extremely hard to get prescriptions or in contact with anyone. read more

This review is in response to Michael M.'s one star review below. I was a customer in the pharmacy the evening this incident occurred. I was there before Michael M. entered the store, and I was there after he left. I saw the incident in its entirety. Nothing Michael M. says is even close to the truth. To begin with, Melanie was not the pharmacist he was dealing with that nigh. Melanie is the senior pharmacist and she is rarely there in the evenings. She was not even in the store when this happened. Michael M. has the wrong pharmacist. Michael M. presented a prescription he wanted filled. The pharmacist nicely explained that the pharmacy no longer fills prescriptions written by this particular doctor. Michael M. became visibly upset, hostile, and aggressive. He began yelling about how he had drive to this location from Tucker just for this prescription. The pharmacist calmly explained that federal regulations prevent the pharmacy from filling this type of prescription to individuals who live outside a 5 mile radius of the pharmacy. This further enraged Michael M. who then became verbally abusive towards the pharmacist. The pharmacist politely asked Michael M. to leave the store. Michael M. refused to leave and began cussing and yelling at the pharmacist. At this point, the pharmacist went behind the pharmacy counter for her own safety and again asked Michael M. to leave. Michael M. refused to leave while being loud and unruly. After the fifth time the pharmacist politely asked Michael M. to leave, I began approaching him to physically remove him from the store. He began leaving before I could get to him. Based on the facts the pharmacy no longer honors prescriptions written by this doctor, and federal regulations prohibit dispensing the prescribed drug to individuals who live more than 5 miles away from the pharmacy, it is quite clear Michael M. went to a pill mill and got a prescription for opioids. The pharmacist did the right thing, and possibly saved Michael M.'s life, by not filling his prescription. Nothing in Michael M.'s transaction had anything to do with racial discrimination as he states. As a matter of fact, two of the pharmacy techs working that evening were African American, and they didn't want anything to do with him and his shenanigans either. I have been going to this pharmacy for over 40 years. I've been a Type I Diabetic for 37 years, therefore, I have spent, and continue to spend, a lot of time in this pharmacy. I have never seen any pharmacist or employee ever be rude, mean, disrespectful, or unprofessional with everyone. Conversely, I have seen customers act rudely towards the pharmacists and employees, but they have always responded with grace and professionalism. Again, not one time in 40 years have I ever seen any employee of Wender and Roberts be rude to anyone. If you read Michael M.'s review, please disregard it. He is clearly a pill popper and has a powerful addiction. I honestly hope he gets the help he needs. Based on everything I saw, the only wrong doer at Wender and Roberts that evening was Michael M. himself. read more

I was treated very poorly and unprofessionally by Melanie who is one of the pharmacist. Previously I mistakenly said it was a different employee. She came from the behind the counter and hollered at me in front of other customers for something that I was not aware of. She is the only person out of both of the locations that I have been to that has behaved in this manner. I'm somewhat torn on what kind of review to write for Wender and Roberts. If you read some of my other reviews from San Francisco, you'll see that I really appreciate small businesses and encourage people to support independent pharmacies. There used to be hundreds in SF and now there are very few. I'm sure the same is true here in Atlanta. On that level, I appreciate what Wender and Roberts offers. They have really cool, unique stock like Kerastase hair products, Lady Primrose bath and body & perfumes (try their dusting powder, it's awesome & comes in such a neat container!), Lollia products, and some interesting skin care, makeup, and health/beauty accessories. They also have really cute gifts. Stocking stuffers, cute stationery, notebooks (MAJOR points for carrying Moleskine notebooks!!!!!), pretty kitchen tools, purses, etc. If I needed a gift for a friend and was short on time this would be a great one-stop-shop. So, to the drawbacks. If you need a prescription filled and don't have health insurance, you might as well bypass this store and head to CVS next door. They don't have the programs that large chains have for generic medications, and their medication prices without insurance are outrageous. However, the pharmacists and people that work in the pharmacy area are really nice, and prescriptions are usually filled quickly. As with any independent pharmacy, I appreciate the fact that the pharmacists get to know you & your health conditions. The bottom line is, if you value personal service over saving some money, this could be a great pharmacy for you. Plus, waiting for a prescription to be filled is a lot less boring when you have great stuff to look at and try out! read more

Eclectic! This place has a little of everything. Your typical drugstore stuff plus some cosmetic lines, gifty type items (scarves, sun hats, cosmetic bags, jewelry rolls, etc), home accessories (cool bowls, mugs, etc), kid party goods and on. You have to stroll the aisles to get it all in cause so much more than a drugstore. Friendly people, seemed to be high school kids on this Sunday. read more

The pharmacists at the West Paces store have been an absolute godsend to me and my family as we have had to change medication for our child numerous times. They've advocated for me with insurance, answered numerous questions, placed special orders, compounded medications, and gone the extra mile over and over again.
