The behavior of staff at this pharmacy is unprofessional, dysfunctional and has no semblance of caring for patients. 'Its Not about health or caring' I recently moved to the Bakersfield. I went to CVS, Coffee Rd to get a thyroid medication. The line was exceedingly long and it was slow, so, I thought I would try the CVS at 11300 Ming Ave near my sister's house for this new prescription for an antbiotic, Augmentin. I called to make sure my out of state doctor could call it in to that number. He was on vacation so he couldn't fax and didn't have access to a computer. I didn't want it to be an ordeal for him since he was already being so kind and helpful. The pharmacy staff said yes, no problem. He called and they said they can't take it by phone. I called them and ask what was going on. The pharmacist says this is not your regular pharmacy. I said, "I'm new to the area." He says, "You've been to other CVSs". "Yes, I'm new to the area and I actually have been to one or more in Colorado and one in Davis CA and I'm sure other places. I travel alot." He says in a snotty tone, "I'm happy for you." I said, "for BUSINESS," what is the problem? He said why are you changing pharmacies?, as if it's something suspicious. I said this is an antibiotic, it's Amoxillian and Calvalanate (potassium). It's not a controlled substance. He said, "the prescription has to be sent electronically it's the law." I said, "I called I explained that my doctor is from another state. I'm new to the area. He is on vacation. He doesn't have a fax machine or computer with him. He has his provider number. A woman I spoke to there said it would be fine." The law is a Business law, CA Bus & Prof Code § 688 (2025), and was created to be helpful by requiring electronic delivery of prescriptions from large volume providers that send a lot of precriptions to pharmacies like CVS. It's more efficient and more accurate. However, my doctor met the exceptions to the law and CVS was required under the law to fill the precription. He was a single provider who was not a large volume prescriber. He also didn't have access to electronic equipment to send the prescription electronically. Further, it was an antibiotic. It was not a controlled substance. My Physician was shocked at the treatment we received. My Business travels were related to my time on the American Hospital Assn Policy Board. I can tell you I will be pursuing remedies and investigations of the recent dangerous and wide spread failings and irregularities in the pharmacy industries. People needing antibiotics to treat infections shouldn't be denied service because pharmacy staff are uneducated or personally opinionated. Failure to get treatment for an infection can result in death or permanent injuries. read more

What a relief! This CVS is clean and fully stocked. The staff was friendly and helpful. Many drug stores in Bakersfield are not doing well. The shelves in the cosmetics isles are nearly empty due to theft according to employees. So it was with great relief when I entered this CVS that the cosmetics isles were clean and well stocked. As with everything cosmetics are more expensive than ever. They are more reasonably priced in chain pharmacies than almost anywhere else. This CVS is fairly close to where I live so it's convenient. I'm so happy I checked locations and found this one. read more

This store is not only way too short staffed, but it's run by the most incompetent staff. They have no clue what they are doing. I only stopped here b/c something I needed was shown on the app to be in stock, but it wasn't. Staff gave me the run around. They clearly just can't keep proper track of inventory. read more

This Pharmacy is strange. They do weird things like make you move to another line once you have picked up your prescription. It's like that clerk can only handle RX pickups, but not answer a question about how to set up your CVS Account or anything else???? The drive through is REALLY where this store needs work! The clerks fail to recognize repeat customers and they routinely conduct the entire visit with little to no eye contact. It's like they can't be bothered?! It's very unprofessional. Then they cram all of your RX's in a bag and put it in the drawer thing. Today I had to really pull to get the bag out when she could have opened the window and handed me the bag just as easily. read more

The pharmacy has a new protocol in place. When you need to call and speak with a pharmacist about an order that they screwed up and I got a text about it you must leave a message on their voice mail and they will call you back. This is piss poor customer service. At least Von's Pharmacy answers the phone when you call. read more

I have come to the CVS pharmacy many times and each time more disappointed than the last. I have made appointments online just so that hours before they can be canceled by CVS. I have gone into the store to make appointments for vaccine shots and I'll come back for my appointment and they'll tell me I never made one. And on top of that I'll make an appointment for a specific vaccine and they tell me they'll order it and when I go to get my shot they dont have the vaccine. It's incredibly frustrating especially when what I am getting here is important for my health. This pharmacy is so incredibly disorganized and understaffed. A very convenient drug store as I am at this plaza a lot - our gym is right there. And our lucky gas station. I do not find the store much to look at as you walk in but it is spacious, lots of choice and the staff are friendly. I DO find it expensive overall so check out those coupons they keep handing out at the end of your transactions and see if they apply to anything you buy! At times I find the cereal goes on sale lower than anywhere I have seen. Also, the fridge containing the milk is not safe. I got my foot caught under the pull-out door pretty bad somehow. You would have to see it to know what I mean but just keep back from it when gently pulling open the door! I have never talked to anyone at the pharmacy to rate them but overall, this is a good place to stop and pick up last minute snacks or home/health products. read more

This is close to us, convenient, but the most of the girls who work in pharmacy are very rude, they have ZERO customer service, gives attitude. This review is regarding the CVS on Buena Vista and Ming. I stood at the pharmacy counter for quite a few minutes, as 3 of the employees ignored me! It was obvious they all saw me standing there needing help as they continued to work, I literally felt invisible! Unbelievable... so rude and unprofessional!! This pharmacy is the worst! They text you that your prescription is ready, you wait in the long line and then they tell you that it is not ready. You go back around and get in the line and hope it will be ready when you get back up to the front of the line. This has happened so many times. I have changed pharmacies because it is so bad here but it is the closest to my work. I have complained so many times but it has never gotten any better. read more

I pass several other drug stores to get to this one. I take several medications daily. Cholesterol, asthma medication etc. nothing exciting. But I know I can trust these people to look out for me because they have done it for years now. From the time I walk through the front door and Rochelle smiles and greets me as she does everyone I know I'm in the right pharmacy. I have a care pass card so I get a discount on many things I buy. I'm in here often picking up prescriptions and I always find something else to buy too. The few times that I have had a problem I have found that Rick the manager has taken care of it. I seriously love this CVS. My cashier just THANKED me for "couponing correctly." Most cashiers at other CVSs roll their eyes and get rude when I pull out the coupons. I will always shop here!!!!! They are sometimes out of stock, but CVS offers a rain check for out of stock items. read more

I've had help for about 2 yrs and this is the first time I'm ever leaving a review if that says anything. This is by far the worst pharmacy. I always have nothing but issues here when I need to pick a prescription and the worst customer service. They tried to say Eucrisa is over the counter when my provider gave me a script for it. Staff clearly does not know what they're doing and look lost all the time when you ask for basic instructions. Save your time and money. I give this -0 stars, I had to add a star but how dare you CVS pharmacy. It's the audacity for me. read more

If you want to catch coronavirus please shop at this location.they pretend like they require masks but they do not have each time I go in the storethere are people at the checkout without masks when I spoke with the manager he said he just doesn't have time to keep an eye on those things.he also told me that his managers told him not to put a sign in the doorway requiring Masks. For this reason I cannot shop and CVS because it is not safe and I encourage other people not to until they step up to their commitment of requiring masks for entrance into their stores. They pretend like they care but they really don't it's all about the bottom line.I have all of my prescriptions at this pharmacy which I can pick up safely through the drive-thru but I will not shop the inside store due to their lack of security. read more

Located on the corner of Ming Ave. & Buena Vista Rd. This is a good CVS branch, and definitely the cleanest. There are plenty of deals to be found if you are willing to take the time to look. I've only been to the pharmacy area to purchase some stuff. I have not taken too much time to browse around for anything else. I may find something that I don't need and end up buying it anyways cause it's a good deal. Well, I'll stop in if I'm in the area. Clean store. Good prices. Okay customer service. I couldn't give a 0 so I gave a 1. The pharmacy use to be good about 2 years ago but the woman pharmacist there Patel is rude! I was a customer for years and in the last year was treated rudely and disrespectful. I tried to transfer my meds and my kids and they fought it tooth and nail! They refilled meds without my permission even when it's against the board of pharmacy. I finally called the manager and he told me he has no clue what goes on in the pharmacy which is pathetic! Finally I called the district manager to complain about my treatment and the way the pharmacy was treating people. I don't know if anything was ever done about it but my new pharmacy constantly gets complaints from former CVS customers and CVS refuses to transfer meds unless you seriously raise hell. I really hate going to this CVS. The staff at the pharmacy are not very nice, quite unhelpful and often do not have our prescriptions ready when they are supposed to. It doesn't matter if you call in the morning and ask to have it ready by the evening. They often don't start your prescription until you get there and make you wait. They also are terrible about filling faxed in prescriptions as they rarely check their fax queue. And forget about the drive through. When you pull up, everyone in there just ignores you. I waited several minutes and tried to make eye contact with multiple members of the pharmacy team and they just plain ignored me. I finally pushed the "call" button and the lady at the desk scowled at me and waved her finger at me vigorously. It's too bad this pharmacy is the closest one to my house and my wife insists on using it for her prescriptions. They really need to work on their customer service and reliability. read more

This is an above average CVS. They have all your typical pharmaceutical & personal needs and then some. The pharmacy was able to transfer a prescription that was called into another CVS & get it ready in less than 45-minutes. read more

The employees are very competent at what the do, but the drive-thru window is understaffed most if the time, especially what would be considered peak hours. I've wasted 20 minutes multiple times picking up prescriptions. Maybe they should check with Dewar's or Starbucks on how to manage a drive thru , probably a lot cheaper than what the manager gets paid now ... read more
