I called this pharmacy at the beginning of December 2020. I was having issues with my local…read morecompounding pharmacy and needed an alternative. I spoke with a pharmacist at this pharmacy who assured me they could make the prescription I needed according to how my insurance company required it to be made for billing. I spent weeks going back and forth with my doctor to get the prescription canceled at the previous pharmacy and sent here. Finally they received it and said it was ready. The girl who called said they don't bill insurance. Then she said she could try. I already spoke with the pharmacist prior to all of this hassle and was told they could bill it. I called her back and said I would just pay cash because I didn't want to wait for them to try to figure it all out. I drove almost 2 hours to the pharmacy to pick it up, paid cash and brought the rx home. It doesn't work. Not at all. I used two different formulas from my previous pharmacy. Their normal formula with crushed up diazepam, and the formula with a specific diazepam that my insurance covers. The insurance billable one isn't as good but still worked. The formula made by MD Compounding does absolutely nothing. I am sure it is base with no diazepam even in it. Two days ago I received a bill for the prescription. The prescription I paid for when I picked it up. I called and hopefully got that straightened out. I asked the pharmacist if they forgot to put the diazepam in the compound. He assured me other people got the same batch and it worked for them. Just because people haven't called in to complain doesn't mean it is working for them. I, again, asked that they make the compound the way my insurance requires as at least that works. The story was completely different this time! Apparently they have a contract to only make compounds a certain way with one company. Ah, yes, the almighty dollar. The pharmacist said he called the company and they said he could make it the way I needed providing it didn't contain lactose. He was going to call my previous pharmacy and ask for the formula. Then a woman called me back saying they aren't going to make it for me. She said that I never received the insurance mandated formula from my previous pharmacy so I couldn't know if it worked. Um, I have been on this for 3 months and the second two months I was given the insurance mandated formula. Oh how I love to be told lies about my own experiences. So, in conclusion, this pharmacy lied to me repeatedly. I went through so much unnecessary hassle to get my prescription to them because they guaranteed they could make it how I needed. That was a lie. They said they would bill my insurance. That was a lie. They billed me when I already paid. Then they lied to me about my owm experience with my previous pharmacy? 0/10 do not recommend. They claim I may have an adverse reaction and then they will be liable. That's not even how the law works for prescriptions but ok.
