Absolutely hands down the most bizarre experience of my life, every single time I go in. This CVS seems to operate based on the social norms and etiquette of a different dimension. It feels like an out of body experience every time I go in. First and foremost, the staff is really VERY nice and does the best that they can. The pharmacy staff is EXCEEDINGLY patient - I mean the kind of stuff that would break me in an instant. There's always a long pick up line (not surprising, given the densely populated neighborhood surrounding it). Sometimes people try to present "LOL" (little old lady) passes to skip the line by just talking over the other customers in line in hopes to at they will be helped first. No ma'am, these pharmacy techs were not born yesterday and do NOT accept excuses. One woman recently tried to say she had jury duty...ma'am no you don't, it's 3:40 in the afternoon... Another time the self checkout was broken and one of the employees granted me as "m'lady" and spoke in an Old English accent throughout the whole time he helped me. He was very nice, but again just added to the list of experiences I've had at this CVS that made me "pinch" myself. Store manager rejected to receive UPS package because it was 4 foot tall and they have no space to store UPS packages. Terrible customer service. Speaks too the service you get at 2235 Dorchester Ave they will turn you away. read more

This pharmacy is the most unreliable, least helpful, most unprofessionally managed I have ever dealt with. After receiving chemotherapy 3 medicines were ordered by physicians. None were available to me for 3 different and easily rectified reasons but I was given no information on how to do that. After a personal visit (pharmacist would not talk to me), phone call to pharmacy (hung up on me after 30 minutes of waiting to speak to pharmacist), and 2 1/2 hours of phone calling regional CVS office I had information. I still don't have medicines but know how to proceed. read more

Have to give kudos to the present pharmacy staff, especially Gina from the pharmacy. Who was very pleasant and personable as she took medication info and dispersed orders. Best experience I've had in 5 years of getting my meds at this CVS. read more

Why did I wait on the phone for the pharmacy to answer for 20 mins. No one even came on the line to say hello please hold we're busy. That would have been great. Customer service for pharmacy gets 3 thumbs down. Maybe that's their plan. Get everyone to hang up. read more

I went to pick up my script 9/16/23 I received email confirmation sho that itbwas delivered 9/15/23 at 10:27am. They did not see it in their system i tried to tell the, it was received and it was a refrigerated item. no one tried to move away from the computer to look for it. I was told it was not there. I had to call CVS specialty and on hold with them for over 20 minutes before I was told that medication was licate. I sent back 9/23/23 picked up my script and was to pick up 2 for my mother however, apparently the nurse did not call in the second script. the cashier was a little belligerent about people need to in scripts if they expect to pick them up. first off they were not open at 9am because the pharmacist was running late. yeah with her coffee in hand. so the cashiers and I were arguing back and forth. as I left I called her a f---ing B--Ch. I felt really awful when I got home. I went back 9/24/23 again not opened at 9am. I came up the same cashier and said to her I want to sincerely apologize to you from the bottom of my heart that I had no right to speak to you the way i did yesterday. she said she did not accept my apology and that she i have to my meds from another CVS that I cant fill them there. I said what about my mother she had nothing to do with this. she said her scripts can't be filled there either. they thought it was a joke because the guy had a snicker on his face. they could have call me and told me this over the phone instead this was her way to embarrass me like I did her. but I was the better woman by apologizing to her. they got that one star because I had to choose they deserve a NEGATIVE STAR. The pharmacy jeopardizes, compromises or otherwise impairs patient care. In addition to the pharmacy's outright failure to manage the simple transfer of a medication from an outside pharmacy, they also allow pharmacy technicians to wear lab-coats calling themselves "Pharmacist" and to dispense information as if they were actual pharmacists. In addition to legal/ethical concerns that this raises it displays a wanton disregard for the safety of their customers. I had to report this CVS to the Department of Public Health and also CVS Corporate. The corporate CVS folks were very quick to apologize and assure remedy of the problem, and they agreed that pharmacy technicians shouldn't be dispensing advice as if they are pharmacists. Finally, the prices at this (and any other) CVS location are worthy of ridicule. Their high drug prices are the primary reason many third party payers (insurance companies) around the country are backing out of allowing their patients to fill drugs at CVS. I have had several encounters with the store and have attempted to evaluate the store based on the fuller experience of those several encounters and I still feel very strongly that they aren't worthy of a single star--but a single star is the lowest possible rating that can be provided. Avoid at all costs--there are other CVS pharmacies in the Boston area and several competing pharmacy brands close-by. read more

We just left the CVS on New Year's Eve. One would think that the cashier being the only one working and on New Year's Eve might be in a little bit of a bad mood. But she was so pleasant and gave us such great service. We were so happy to have interacted with her. We hope that the manager sees this and thanks her for her kindness as we did tonight. read more

Apparently, I like this place BC I've never had to get medication there. Otherwise my experience has been fairly benign. Nice staff, good sales, parking & an external red box. Put that next to a library & a strip of local business es & you've got a winning combo. The interior can be a bit jumbly & hard to navigate so no forth star. read more

This is a CVS like any other, and actually pretty big. Same selection as always (although they didn't have the same selection of Easter candy that the Porter Sq one had the other day). The parking lot is spacious, you'll never have to be searching for a spot. It can be a little tough to get out onto Dorchester Ave when the school across the street is just starting or ending, but that's not much of a delay. read more

I have always been a CVS customer. Upon moving, I went to this particular CVS Pharmacy given its in my neighborhood. The customer service is horrible. You are not even acknowledged when you are waiting. The pharmacy staff are rude and arrogant. I have been very disappointed, and I have expressed my disappointment directly to the staff. Yet, even when I meet new staff, they equally lack skills at customer service. There is one staff member that actually went out of her way to help me and correct the errors of her colleagues, and she was from Western MA where I used to live. She gets five stars. The others have not earned a star. As a health care provider myself they should all be retrained in customer service! This CVS Pharmacy needs a more observant manager to correct the poor customer service ! read more

The store is well stocked with the essential and also has a few unique (read expensive/luxury items. In a pinch, you can grab the basic groceries there. The checkout facility is poorly designed, with lines backing up in the aisle. Cashier and friendly and helpful and amazingly you can usually find a staffer on the floor for assistance. The pharmacy is a completely different story. They are quick to lie about interactions with your MD. In general most of the staff is rude and haughty. My one-star rating reflects a negative 4 for the pharmacy and 5 for the store. read more

i think my review is more focused on the clientele vs the staff. hey - if you dont know your phone number, stop trying to guess it! if there is a line of 7 people behind a resister and a new opens up, you are not supposed to go to the front of that line if youre currently 7th in the other line. if you cant figure out what the sales are in the circular, dont spend 5 minutes trying to get the cashier to explain them to you while 7 other people wait! i finally wised up and skipped the line up front and went back to pay for my one item at the pharmacy, where everyone was courteous and prompt. i won't be inviting any of the clientele here to my next local yelp adventure, pah lease! read more

The pharmacy at this location is the absolute worst. It was the closest to my home at the time and constantly had problems especially the wait time which is ridiculous. Today my doctor electronically put in for refills of my medication I went 3 and a half hours later waited in line for 20 mins when there was only 2 customers ahead of me however there was 4 people working behind the counter after the cashier helped the 2 customers and it came my turn she said hold on and proceeded to call out names for prescriptions for people waiting around and made me wait an addition 22 mins. When she finally decided to help me she said oh yours is not ready we are still working on it like she couldn't tell me that 42 min earlier. Their pharmacy is so awful that it takes away from the nice people that work in the rest of the store. I keep meaning to transfer my prescriptions but laziness has won out. The pharmacy is always overwhelmed and generally messes up at least one thing of mine. Oh, and the photo department is usually broken, so don't try that. read more

This is my CVS of choice. It is open early and the pharmacists are helpful with providing over the counter advice (I've never filled medications here). The cashiers are friendly and the store is clean. read more

This is NOT the place to go if you need: 1. Prescriptions filled 2. Passport photos taken I like CVS and this one is the closest pharmacy for me, but I have been unable to fill prescriptions here. The pharmacists on duty are rude and dismissive. They claim there is a "glitch" in their system and they can't fix it because they are not programmers. I now drive 1/2 mile longer to Right Aid, where I haven't had any problems filling prescriptions. The photo machine at this CVS has been "due for service" for several months now. The Walgreens on Gallivan has a fully functional machine and very helpful, cheerful staff members. A pharmacy incapable of filling prescriptions? Very bizarre. Don't waste your time and patience, go elsewhere, especially if you are dealing with an emergency. read more

I've been to several Pharmacies over the years, and this is the first time I've had to wait 6 days for a pharmacy to fill a prescription. And they promised to call when it was ready, (they didn't have pills in stock), and they didn't. Other pharmacies, and this one too,usually, filled in 24 hours. Maybe the boss was on vacation. read more

This is an extremely large CVS, but the whole CVS seem kinda ... "ancient" and old. Compared to the Cvs around boston, which are equipped with self serving machines and have a new design. Although this place may seem old and rundown, they still have the regular merchandises that any standard Cvs would carry. I used to always come here, but its such a hike. Not like they're doing any special promotion there. read more
