Worst, most unprofessional customer service at a pharmacy I've ever had to deal with. Had my son's prescription for two weeks before they told us they couldn't fill it. A supply chain issue. He needs to take medication every day, and not letting us know till it's almost out is a problem. Difficult to get a drug, long line or closing for lunch. Also have almost midst for drug , have to wait until the last pill is gone. Difficult if you are going out of town. The meds I take have to be taken everyday or I get in trouble and very sick. I am not taking for fun. read more

You walk in looking for cold medicine, a bit under the weather -- the cold flourescent lights buzz into your brain, there's no employees (or other customers) to be found... a weird distorted pop song is looping like a bad digital broken record... the pharmacy is a facade and actually never open... the self check-out machines don't work & there's no employees so you wait 20 minutes to buy over priced cough syrup... this is a cruel, large, vacant of anything remotely positive corporate cemetery. I have tried over and over to give this pharmacy a chance but no more. They are slow, understaffed and majority of the time don't have my meds. They lack communication to let us know when are scripts are ready for pickup so I have to stop by only to be told they are not ready and I can wait. Im tired of waiting and CVS is no longer getting my business. I think it's time to close this place for good. read more

I'd give zero stars for the pharmacy if it was possible. 7 days trying to refill an existing prescription. The pharmacy did not communicate with me any issues and I continued to use the app to try to refill it because the hold time on the phone is outrageous!! The staff is rude and unprofessional. I loved my local CVS, but they closed recently. Ever since transferring to this location I've had nothing but issues waiting days for refills. Just transferred all of my prescriptions to a new pharmacy that is not a CVS. They have lost my business and it's quite a bit as there are 3 of us with multiple prescriptions. Trying to get any clear answers on why your prescription is "on hold" is impossible. Do yourself a favor and price out your prescriptions on goodrx and go somewhere comparable. Please someone get the pharmacy team help. Always such long lines and impossible to get through by phone. If I need to ask a question it's easier to just drive there and stand in line for 15 minutes. I am not an avid CVS shopper, but like others, I have found you can get some pretty awesome deals here. As advertised in their circulars, some products are considered "free" when you purchase and receive bonus bucks for your next visit. Of course, this starts off a train if needing to go back in order to redeem prior to expiration, which can be quite annoying. Alas, this is how the items are free. Of course, I am often paying for these "free" items in another way. By their marked up prices. $10 for Maybelline mascara??? Wow. Some cold medicines and other necessities are also marked up, making for a place to shop only in emergency situations. I honestly think Jewel Osco is much cheaper with those same types of items. This CVS is pretty clean, but the associates are touch and go. Sometimes you get a friendly and talkative staff member, sometimes you get a disgruntled employee. Takes all kinds, I suppose. This CVS is local. And has a Redbox outside. Can't say I have it. At all. read more

Getting a prescription for pets medications? Don't come here. They told me they take goodrx coupons, and then after it was filled, oops, they don't. $46. Went to Walgreens in La Grange, and they'll fill the same prescription for $16. And as an added bonus, I'll be getting a mail order prescription, so i don't have to come here ever again! read more

My husband and I came to this Minute Clinic here after I had been deathly ill with the flu or a sinus infection or something nasty. We saw online that the nurse takes lunch from 1-1:30 so we got there around 2 and signed in. We sat outside the room for a bit and the lady comes out around 2:15 and says rudely "I'm going to lunch, so you'll have to wait". My husband explains that online it says they take a lunch from 1-1:30. Again she says "Well, I haven't had a chance to take a break so you'll have to wait." If wasn't the fact that we had to wait - I mean i know that they have to take a break sometime, it was the way she spoke to us and how she handled the situation. She acted like she was pissed at us for being there while she was trying to take a break. So sorry to ruin your break. We were about to leave after this encounter, but I was feeling like my sinuses were going to explode and I wanted some relief. She comes back and takes care of us but I won't be back. I've really only dealt with the CVS Pharmacy, so that section of the store is what this review is based on. Just recently I had my prescription refilled. However, the company that makes my pills had just changed the pill I was taking to a chewable tablet. The doctor's office called me to let me know this change took place. I thought nothing of it, and assumed that this new pill would be ready for me at the CVS. However, instead of refilling the prescription like I assumed they would, the person at the doctor's office decided to not refill my prescription. Of course I was pissed. So I sort of ranted to the two pharmacy technicians, saying that I didn't know they wouldn't've refilled the prescription for me, and that I assumed when they told me about the prescription change, they would've assumed I would want the new prescription refilled. Both technicians listened to me, and were very understanding. The one technician said he'd give the doctor's office a call in the morning to get them to refill the prescription (it was Sunday when I went in, and the office was closed). The next morning, I received a call from the doctor's office confirming my prescription change. I was pleasantly surprised, especially because they called me fifteen minutes after they opened! The nurse said the CVS pharmacy technician was on the other line with her when I confirmed that I wanted my prescription refilled. Yay! He kept his word! Within ten minutes of speaking with the nurse, CVS called me to ask when I wanted to pick up my prescription. Talk about efficiency! I absolutely love CVS, even before this incident, I've always received great customer service from the pharmacy department. read more

As far as CVS' go, this is a lot nicer than the other site in Brookfield- much larger. But WHY must all CVS' I go to have dingy grey carpet? It really makes the place feel dirty, in my opinion, and I only go here because my insurance requires it for the pharmacy! Pharmacy staff was a little rushed, but basically friendly. My car's driver side mirror was smashed in your parking lot this evening between 8 pm and 8:11 pm. Your store's outside security cameras could have caught the criminal if they were working! Almost every time I go here you wait in line for about 20 minutes. There are a few cashiers that are mentally impaired (blue fingernails) and just yap to every customer and fail to do their simple job. They are idiots. If you go after 5, watch out b/c it gets worse. There is a special type of bitter when shopping at this location. Mind you, a couple of the ladies at the register are nice. From the pharm that will do all in it's power to annoy you, make you wait forever, treat you like a druggie depending on which meds you have a script for. Even if just cashing out after a few toiletries and trying to use coupons that CVS gave you after a previous purchase. "Lets hope these are from your account and no one else's" Really? That must be the new scam, trading CVS Coupons... You can tell losing Blue Cross to Walgreens has dramatically impacted this location. My review is specifically for the Minute Clinic. The CVS is fine, same as any other drug store. I've been to this Minute Clinic a few times and its faster and easier than going to the doctor when you're sick. Ear infection, strep throat, etc. The nurse practitioners are very helpful, personable, and professional. And you can get the rx filled right there. My only complaint is the wait times can be long, which results in me spending a bunch of money on stuff at CVS on things I didn't really need. read more

I shop here frequently and the cashiers are very friendly. But sometimes they don't mind their business whenever I buy condoms.

I wish I could split up my rating with the store versus the pharmacy, but I'll cover that in the review. The store has gotten somewhat better in its layout in recent years, but seems to have trouble with keeping the appropriate amount of inventory. Seems like the shelves are bare, and bare for long periods of time on certain products. Either that, or they aren't ordering the appropriate amount for demand. Product example: Biotene toothpaste. In my three times visiting in two weeks, nothing was replenished. Not one Biotene product. I'll have to check other CVS locations nearby to see if they have similar stocking problems. This is just one example. There are frequent sellouts of many other products. The staff has gotten a bit friendlier than they used to be. I think they got rid of the crabby woman who used to check people out at the front. The pharmacy, however, does have a good set of quality, knowledgeable, and friendly people working there who are willing to help you out. I rarely have any issues with inventory on prescriptions (as opposed to when I pick up RXs for my grandmother at Osco---where it's super cheap, but they don't always have the full stock or availability of the prescriptions she uses). I'm sticking with Osco for the price that she can afford, but it can be cumbersome when her prescription has to be picked up in two visits. Sometimes the lines can be a little long here, but that's at any pharmacy at a popular time. As I said, I probably won't go anywhere else to fill my RXs (like a Costco, Osco or a Wal-Mart). It's just to easy for me to step into this CVS. I do frequent this place quite a bit, and the coupons and discounts they offer are one of the main reasons why. It is convenient, and if I"m going there for a prescription, I do end up spending some big bucks on other products---assuming they have them. All in all, I like this location and its convenient parking lot better than the one on Ogden (also in Brookfield). read more

Unlike Bryan, I have found the staff to be helpful and friendly, especially the pharmacy folks. Sadly, though, the store itself is a mess. It looks like a dollar store -- the outside has lawn-type signs stuck helter-skelter into a narrow crack of cement and the main aisle is crammed with cheap, tacky stuff. The carpet tiles have a funky odor, and the store is dirty. I would swear that the woodwork in the pharmacy waiting area hasn't been dusted since the store opened. I only shop here when I have to and although the clerks are nice, I am always crabby when I leave. read more

When I was a student at the University of Chicago I would come here instead of the University clinic as the nursing staff gave me better, faster, more competent service than the university hospital. That's right, better than the world famous University of Chicago Hospital. I was surprised also. I have asked for the same nurse every time I have been here 4x in the past 4 years because she is very competent. She does a lot more Sherlock Holmes detective work than any of my doctors ever have and any nurse in any hospital I have visited. Not only have the nursing staff been more accurate at diagnosing my symptoms and advising effective medication they actually respected me enough as a non-medical college educated person that I understood what my symptoms were, even when they do not fit in the simple to diagnose boxes like many doctors like us to have. I agree with other reviewers that many of the OTHER staff seem very unhappy to be at their jobs and are often openly rude. As far as the mandatory lunch, I WANT the nurses to take their lunch on time and for a full hour (I'll wait) so that I can get 100% super service from them. I also understand it stinks to wait when you are sick. So give the staff a break, besides you, many of them are serving people that are rude, disrespectful, demanding, inconsiderate everyday of their lives. All of us have our limits. read more

Yesterday, I was in the store and encountered a woman who was almost blind. She was going to check pricing for octivite an eye vitamin at Walgreens at first and Odgen and then WALK back to the CVS at Prairie and Odgen if the pricing was better. I offered my coupon to allow her to use a $3.00 off discount. When I approached the manager he was VERY RUDE and would not allow the woman to use my coupon. I eventually decided to buy the vitamins for her using the coupon and the "so called " manager continued to treat me very rudely and in fact threatened me. The other reviews are right on the money. HORRIBLE customer service. Pretty much all of the people that work here are miserable and take it out on everyone customer in their line. I thought a few times about complaining about the lack of customer service but then I thought "What good would that do?" clearly the manager has some serious issues as well or he/she would not be hiring a bunch of lousy employees. AND I am giving them the benefit of the doubt just because I do not know their story; maybe their lives really do stink, that's why their so miserable.
