I am used to the Walgreens in River Forest and the CVS inside target in Oak Park (I'm from Hinsdale but was living out there for a while and just moved back to this area. It's like night and day. My meds are usually ready same day. Not the next day, after I put my order through in the morning or even 2 days later. You can actually talk to a friendly pharmacy team instead of only leaving a message and then if working miss the phone call back (Again like CVS does). Things aren't all locked behind glass. There is no monotone or bad attitude riddled staff members checking you out or at the pharmacy. This Walgreens is fantastic and has always helped me and been patient with my sometimes dumb questions simply out of reassurance since my experience with other pharmacies was so bad. People don't understand how good they have it. The staff will actually ask you if you need help if you look lost or confused about where something is. Instead of avoiding you on purpose and taking an entire 10 mins after hearing the "assistance needed" call to certain aisles. The overall rating is misleading. Whoever made it that way has to be an entitled a-holes who expect a standing ovation every time they enter the store. Check yourselves. This Walgreens is great.

She stopped my mom and said "excuse me ma'am can I see your receipt, they said you stole something" so my mom showed her the receipt from the pharmacy looking puzzled at the lady. Then my mom asked "who is they"? Connie didn't answer. Needless to say Connie looked stupid after seeing my mom's receipt. According to the manager Pete, they don't have loss prevention. So no cameras? So how would Connie have known if someone stole something? How is this store being ran? This isnt the first time Connie has acted crazy to customers. She also went off on me, going back and forth with me getting loud and arguing with me because she was too lazy to open up the store on time. The staff was even coming in left and right late for their shift and having an attitude with paying customers. I don't think Connie and other staff at this location even like black people. Thays why they talk and treat black people the way they do. It's ashame this location is still racially profiling. Won't be back to this location.

I know they think I'm a drug addict or alcoholic because of the meds I take and that is why they are treating me like a drug seeker. It's not the first time this happened to me at a compounding pharmacy. My prescription price was raised $25 without notice. I was already paying $125 out of pocket. LDN is prescribed for many reasons I'm disabled from medical negligence. My emails have not been answered as to why the price has gone up. Nobody in that pharmacy has been kind.

I walked in and was warmly greeted by Steve, the pharmacist. I was so taken aback I thought he must be talking to someone else but no. The effusive greeting was for me. Nice. My doctor had called in the prescription so it was there and waiting for me. Steve took the time to tell me what it was, how I should take it and mentioned a number of side effects that I could have from the meds. Not unusual for a pharmacy but this guy was just so darn nice in the way he did it! The walls of this small shop are full of items to purchase from therapeutic stockings, to bandages, to cold meds and other drug store type items. They even have a small cooler stocked with juices and waters which was great as it enabled me to begin taking my prescription immediately. Another plus? There is free valet parking out front so you can jump out of your car and be in and out in a flash (especially helpful when you aren't feeling well) This place probably gets all of its business from the doctors that are in the building that it occupies, as there is no outside signage, and other drug stores may be more convenient. And like other drug stores- they take insurance so this was no more expensive than where I usually get my scripts filled. But for that small town feel of a real pharmacy, without all the big box hype, Elm Plaza Pharmacy with Steve at the helm is a perfect choice.
