This is a review for just shopping for a couple necessary items. We didn't need any medications or other healthcare items, so I can't comment on that. We stopped by on a Friday evening, and there were two cashiers and another front end associate helping customers checkout quickly. They have a large selection of beauty, personal care, snack, and grocery items. There were 5 customers in line in front of us, and I was shocked at how quickly we found what we needed and checked out. Good work getting customers what they need as quickly as possible! read more

This CVS pharmacy is a mess. I am finally leaving them after years of issues and truly some of the most unpleasant service. You shouldn't have to deal with terrible attitudes every time you try to simply pick up a prescription. It's the last place I ever want to be when I'm unwell. I've been going to this pharmacy for 2 years. Today, I called to get a refill of my prescription that needs to be taken nightly. The girl on the phone was not listening to me when I gave her my name and date of birth (after she asked) and asked me to repeat everything which was annoying but whatever. She told me it'd be ready at 6pm. I said, sounds good, I'll be there at 7 (thinking the pharmacy closed at 8). She said okay and hung up, all while being short and not pleasant on the phone. Just pulled up at 7:11 to find that the pharmacy is closed. This girl couldve easily told me this but instead allowed me to go about my day thinking I had plenty of time to pick up my prescription. I'm a former CVS employee, 10 year veteran. Trained in both front store management as well as pharmacy technician. The front store has it together. Amazing that there is a self checkout! So convenient and really takes out long wait times for checking out. The front store staff is on point with the customer service. For a big drug store chain, former employee, I felt like I maybe stepped into another dimension when getting my prescription filled here. This is not my usual store for medication, however I had mouth surgery and needed my meds filled at this location. I really felt like I was this couldn't be real, the customer service. I needed a medicine refilled 6 days later, unfortunately they input the rx incorrectly which caused a lot of problems. A tech impersonated a pharmacist intern with me, then Carly the pharmacist was so combative with me over the phone, I couldn't finish a sentence. I honestly thought maybe this isint real and I'm having a nightmare? This can't be real the way she is handling this? I really have so much compassion for retail. They are on the front lines and I did my 20, so I get it. The pharmacy staff though, they really need to be trained and retrained. Be prepared to not be able to communicate if there is any problem. I stopped by to pick up a couple of OTC medications. I was easily able to find what I was looking for and the pharmacists were helpful in verifying I had picked up the right generic equivalents. There was no line to check out. The CVS app is always full of discounts which is nice. Their extra care buck program is hard to beat. Prices tend to be higher than Amazon, but if you do extra care bucks right, you can make it much cheaper. Pretty much your standard CVS. No complaints from me. read more

My family & I have been loyal customers of CVS since it first opened its doors in southern California. We made many purchases, filled prescriptions and got yearly health checks @ CVS. On November 17, 2017, my husband and I visited the CVS Plaza Midwood location and made a purchase. We needed to draw money after but did not want to use the ATM inside the CVS since that ATM charges a fee. We spotted a Bank of America ATM right across the street so we decided to walk there instead of drive. We waited in line and heard a few people say that they could not withdraw money. When it was our turn, my husband tried several attempts and it seemed like that ATM was out of money. We Googled another ATM and decided to just walk there instead of drive being that there was traffic on the road. After waiting for the few people ahead of us at the next ATM, it was finally our turn. We got our money & walked back to our car at CVS. When we got to the car, we were alerted by the parking enforcer that our car had a boot on it. WTF! He said parking is for customers only...which we were so we showed him the receipt. He said it didn't matter and said that once you leave the store you were no longer a customer. No way! Yes we were being harassed by the CVS PARKING MAFIA! My husband walked across the street to talk to the police officers who happened to be at the scene of an accident. The policemen told him that there are numerous complaints about this but since that's private property, they couldn't do anything. He said to talk to the manager of CVS who might be able to help but I knew it wasn't going to amount to anything since I'm sure the parking mafia worked for CVS. We walked back to CVS & spoke with the manager but she claimed her hands were tied and told us that we needed to call the phone number that was on the sign and speak to the parking mafia's boss. So I called WheelBlockers Towing & Parking Enforcement and talked with a very nice man there, explained the situation & that we just moved here from California a few months ago and had no idea about this parking issue here in Plaza Midwood but he said there was nothing he could do. At the end of the day, we paid $125 to get the boot off our car instead of the couple of bucks from the ATM fee. Lesson learned. I will avoid & boycott CVS going forward since they do not appreciate customer loyalty and do not know what the term "customer" means. read more

Horrible experience every time I go here. Last week they messed up my prescription, and made me come back 3 separate times, until they finally got it right on the 3rd day. Today they made me wait 45 minutes in the middle of the afternoon with no other patients just to get a flu shot. They are all over the place and don't know what they are doing. Horrible. read more

The girl at the window with an ombré was so rude to me at one point I didn't think she was talking to me and left the phone on while barking orders at someone. She told me to call back to help me with my prescription as soon as I got home. I drove 15 min home, called as soon as I got home and was on hold for 30 min. Tried to recall to be told the pharmacy was closed when their hours said they would be open longer. Avoid this place like the plague!! read more

I walked in determined to help myself find the Dramamine. A store employee must have seen the confused look on my face and quickly offered assistance. I was impressed. Once I made my selections, I got to the cashier and didn't have a wait. The cashier was swift and kind and that's all I need. I am not sure why this location has low ratings but my first visit was impressive, although they were out of stock on the item I needed as it was on special. This was expected. It NEVER fails that there is some issue when trying to fill my prescriptions here. I just get my dog's meds filled here, as my meds come by mail. Even when I triple check with them and the vet, still. Always a problem. They are very unreliable and not consumer driven. If there is an issue, you find out when you go to pick up your meds. This location is extremely busy and what appears to be understaffed. That being said, you will never receive a call telling you that there is an issue. They also do not call or text (even if you opt for that in the app) when your meds are ready. I will never go back to this pharmacy. They seriously need to get it together. read more

She made a mistake, didn't apologize, & then threatened "to meet me" in the parking lot to discuss the matter further. This is my neighborhood CVS, so I go about once a week. It's mediocre in my experience with other CVS stores, but I'm surprised by the 1 star reviews. The store is well stocked and clean. Everyone I've met is polite and friendly, but service can be somewhat slow. Location is great, and parking lot always has open spots. read more

What, no one else has reviewed Plaza-Midwood's mainstay mass-chain pharmacy? I'm shocked and will have to do the honors, in a quick and tidy fashion, if for no other reason than the wife and I usually get our 'scripts filled here. The best thing going for this place is visibility and location- right on the corner of Pecan and Central. It has plenty of parking around the building and even has a drive-thru pharmacy (which I do not recommend you use during the busy rush hours). It's your typical CVS is terms of layout- pharmacy in the back, cash register and photo center in the front. Things look a little run down just in terms of decor and lighting, but I find this is typical. They always have an amazing assortment of seasonal items right in the middle of the store and these places get my vote for best place to pick up a PInk Elephant party present. You want a Shake-weight? They got it. You need a Snuggie blanket? It's only a matter of which color. Basically, if you've seen it sold on late-night TV you can bet it will be here. The good thing is their rewards card, which can give you "Extra Bucks" used as cash on your next purchase. You have to be careful with some of their 'deals' but if you watch your coupons and their weekly fliers, sometimes you can score a good deal. The real downgrade here is quality of other clientele this location attracts. While the largely gentrified Elizabeth and Plaza-Midwood sandwich this CVS, there are a lot of other depressed neighborhoods that rely on this store. I don't know what it is about a CVS, but there's always some kind of sketch factor strolling thru the doors. Whatever magnet is pulling these folks in only seems to get stronger the later you stop in. Perhaps this is why there is usually an off-duty sheriff's deputy standing guard at the front door. This is both reassuring and off-putting at the same time. Luckily, this isn't a weekly stop and convenience factor usually trumps concerns for the niceties of a higher end store. read more

CVS isn't my usual convenience store/pharmacy of choice, but this one worked just as nicely. They have a wide assortment of basic groceries, cards, candy, and lots of pharmacy and vitamins stuff and more. Well stocked! I visit this CVS regularly for prescriptions and have never had any issues. Honestly, I picked up my prescription before I could get very far into this review. Their drive through is convenient, too, of you're just here for scripts. On more than one occasion while waiting to pick up my prescriptions, I've witnessed other customers literally yelling at the pharmacists, so I completely understand their desire to get your scripts filled and get your out the door as fast as possible. read more

This store is close to my house, so I've spent quite a bit of time and money here. I can forgive the all out brawl I witnessed in the parking lot. I can even get over the fact that panhandlers hang out in their parking lot and aggressively beg for money. My experience today was the last straw. I pulled up to the pharmacy window to drop off a prescription. I thought I had lucked out because I was the only car there, and typically the line is a few cars long; they're always short-staffed, it seems. After waiting for service for 15 mins, I honked my horn once. Not a lean-on-the-horn, a-hole move, a single honk. Out of nowhere, a pharm tech pops her head up and puts her finger up at me to indicate that i needed to wait. So, I continue waiting. She finally opens the window, takes a look at my prescription and tells me they don't have the medicine I need, and the soonest they will is Friday (three days from now). So, I tell her I'll pick it up Friday. She closes the window. I pull forward and decide I'll just go to another pharmacy. So, I park my car and walk inside to ask for my prescription paper back. I get to the drop off window within the pharmacy, and the same girl I speaking with is either telling someone or quite possibly talking to herself aloud about how people need to wait and stop rushing her because they're getting on her nerves. She spots me and immediately looks like a deer in the headlights. I get my prescription back and leave. I guess this is really my fault for continuing to visit this store despite poor service and long waits. read more

You will always wait FOREVER to get your prescription. Three cars or ten cars it'll be at least 20-30 minutes in line. Unreal. Changing pharmacies. They are often out of meds and staff doesn't seem very happy. Plus many many times prescription was "forgotten" and not ready. read more

This a chain. You know what they have, you know the price point, no big surprises there. There are so many chain pharmacies in Charlotte and they seem to do very little to differentiate themselves from one another. Thankfully, I only have one prescription I have to deal with and just have to go by once a month. But, on that monthly trip I'm immediately irritated if I go inside. Generally I'm the only person at the Rx counter and there are 2-4 employees working. No one acknowledges you for at least 1-2 minutes; it's like they have a timer and can't speak before it goes off. Then, all they say is "Be right with you". When someone does finally ask your name they dig through, find your Rx, make you sign the insurance book and cash you out with no more words. It's really amazing how little communication goes on. The drive-thru pickup, if it doesn't have a long-line is slightly better for some reason. Not personable at all but at least a bit quicker. I'm really just rather meh about the place and wish there was a local pharmacy that took my insurance. read more

Most of those girls besides one female pharmacist has a serious stick wedged way too deep into their ass, thank goodness one very kind lady was a saving grace and had simple decency to be nice. BUT THE REST, YOU CAN FORGET IT. Instant attitude of "you're bothering me by walking up" if you make it through a simple conversation and actually have a definite fair question in the end about your prescription EVEN AFTER THEY ASKED then that will surely earn you a condescending "how dare you actually ask me anything" response. I've worked customer service for 13 years so I know how to carefully talk to people nicely and accordingly and oh I don't know most importantly PROFESSIONALLY no matter ANY circumstances, ANY! The prenatals prescribed to me weren't insured by my provider, ok totally fine therefore I simply kindly asked if there was a major difference in the kind they had and how much would it be if I wanted it the original. That's when the second worker acts as if I'm asking her to go dig a treasure map out back to lead her to this oh so difficult answer by slowly giving a side eye to the first worker who chimes in after not wanting to be bothered about how it's basically not that much smaller and it's cheaper in a very rude way. Doesn't matter to them how patient or polite I was about having basic concerns in being a first time mom. They acted like I wasted hours of their precious time which was approximately 2 minutes during a time that wasn't busy at all as this location is so very well known for-maybe because 10 a.m is the glory hour to go. They made something so small so negative for no reason. I was friendly and no one was waiting yet my first prenatal pick up was an unnecessary annoyance because these 2 want to team up out of nowhere in their "is she serious?" demeanor yet I gave not one drop of an attitude at any point whatsoever and I couldn't stop thinking where is this coming from? Now I go down the street for prenatals a whole size bigger provided by the same insurance! But given by much nicer and happily informative women and not bratty good for nothing know it all posers with unjustified bitch fits who can't rightfully do the simplest tasks of their so called profession. Why they don't like to talk to people like human beings or know better like anyone else to NOT MESS WITH A PREGNANT WOMAN is beyond me. read more

If this pharmacy wasn't less than 5 minutes from my house I would never go here again. This is the slowest pharmacy I've ever been to and sadly the customer service is lacking as well.
