The quality of service has really gone downhill for the last year, and it's intolerable now. Will be switching pharmacies, and not staying with CVS. There seems to be a corporate issue where they don't approve enough budget to run the pharmacy at a staffing level anywhere near approaching satisfactory. If you depend on a medication being filled on time, you should consider a non-CVS until they turn things around. Recently there have been entire 24 hrs of prescriptions put into baskets and not entered into the computer as being ready. The cashier can't find them, and you won't get a robo-call because - well, no one is doing that step. Sometimes the only person working is the pharmacist, who is answering calls, working the register handling drop-offs, and filling prescriptions. There are also times when there are four people working non-register, and one person working one of the three registers with a 30 minute line of 10 people. If you are a customer of a CVS in the Sacramento area and experience poor service at a CVS pharmacy, contact the district office and tell them to staff about 2 more people working orders and two more at the registers during peak hours, and at least one more during off-peak. This particular store number is #9282. If you are so motivated, let a higher level at CVS know as well. The problem could be at the Sacramento district office. read more

I'm someone who frequents the pharmacy about once a month. And because I'm a student with two jobs, I tend to only be able to run my errands at night around 7-9 pm. Do not - I repeat - do NOT use this pharmacy during the late evening/night hours. You will be ignored by an extremely slow-reacting pharmacist who has no sense of priority. Only until there are 5 irritated customers waiting in line for ten minutes will she stop what she's doing and make her way over to the register. And once it's your turn, she takes her sweet time finding the prescription you submitted ten minutes prior. During the day and on the weekends, the pharmacy staff is decent. However, I'm on medications that I can not afford to miss a day of. I make sure to call in a week before so that my doctor can approve the request and I can get my medication right on time. Never fails in my hometown, or even at any other pharmacy. You wouldn't think it would be that hard to call a doctor and get approval after a fax mysteriously didn't go through FOUR TIMES. Call in and check if the script is there, get confirmation only to arrive and be told that there's nothing there for you? This has happened several times, and I'm about to move every one of my prescriptions to any other pharmacy. ANY other pharmacy. read more

Very bad customer service. Will never come back here. I order photo print online and the website estimated it to be done around after 1 hour. I waited for 2 hours but received no update email so I went to the store. My order still not ready yet. I asked the cashier what the estimate time was so I can plan to stay or leave, he did not even bother go check the number of orders ahead of me. I waited for another 1.5 hour then gave up, with no my expected photo and I was so mad. read more

I agree that the pharmacy staff is terrible. If I had a choice of pharmacies, I would not go to this one solely to avoid the rude pharmacy techs. Two girls (the two young Caucasian women) in particular always look like you're putting them out by asking for your medication, they are not very welcoming, and they just look like they hate going to work. One of the girls even gossiped to the other tech about one of the patients right in front of me! My parents are pharmacists, and they're appalled that the techs do not consistently ask the patients to sign out their meds or if they need counseling from the pharmacists. As far as the drugstore side, they're pricier than other drugstores and Safeway, but they have a good selection, and I was so happy to find a microwavable measuring cup. Another place you can go in Davis at 2am. I love places that are open lots of hours. And they sell a really wide selection of stuff here. The prices are not great but no drug store in Davis has reasonable prices. The pharmacist is not very helpful here - but they are pretty fast. It hurts to write a 2, especially for the reasoning, but it needs to be said. Regarding their pharmacist.....she is a nice woman, but way too nice. I have used CVS four times (as it has been for immediate prescriptions....for my dailies I receive them through the mail). She has a habit of engaging her customers in deep conversation. Why is this bad? If I am feeling like crap and waiting to get an antibiotic, I should not be waiting in line for over five minutes (think about how long that is, if you have a high fever and pneumonia) while the customer is already checked out, and just engaging in "pleasantries" while you are wanting to just get your prescription filled and want to go to bed. I have had to use this CVS four times, as each time has been after visiting the hospital down the street, and I swear, every time, it is the same thing: Feel like crap and wait while the lone pharmacist has a long conversation, everything political to local activities, etc, with the customer in front who has already checked out. I know there needs to be customer service, but she is too far end of the spectrum. If there is no one waiting in line, fine, but this last time, there was a person behind me as well who seemed just as annoyed as I was. I love how CVS is 24 hours and is close by my house. But their inventory kinda sucks. Don't get me wrong but this place has definitely gone through some MAJOR upgrades since CVS bought out longs. But I think Longs did a better job at keeping things on the shelf at all times. A little while ago, I had another allergic reaction to the mosquito bites I got and went to CVS to get some benadryl. Once again THEY WERE COMPLETELY OUT OF ALL BENADRYL & the CVS brand of benadryl... this is seriously the SECOND time it has happened to me. When I asked the clerk when they'll be getting in a new shipment (hopefully by the next day) they said in about a week. OMG by then my allergic reaction will be over! As for everything else, I like how they have 75% off sales on clearance cosmetics once in a while and their crazy sales on their weekly sale items. read more

Horrible pharmacy staff. They have lost my prescriptions and are incredibly rude in person and over the phone. I tell them not to fill a prescription, just to have it in their files, and they fill it. I tell them to fill a prescription, and they don't. I call to ask for the cost on a prescription and they refuse to give it to me. One woman argued with me for 3 minutes about why I don't have to pay for it (basically saying, you don't have to pay for it, so I'm not telling you the cost). Finally I said, "I know it is confusing, but I do have to pay for it, so please, will you just tell me what the cost is?" (which I have the right to know). She finally told me and then HUNG UP ON ME. You shouldn't have to spend time explaining things to people just to get the information you have the right to. Do not go here. read more

Believe every low rated post by others regarding this CVS pharmacy location. The pharmacy staff is rude, incompetent, and incapable of providing quality care to the customer. I have, for years, put up with this subpar service by being complacent as this is just the way it is here. But it shouldn't be that way. Getting prompt and courteous service for medical needs should be paramount for CVS to provide. However, based on the lackluster performance of this branch, it is very obvious it is not a priority for CVS, as this location has proven to underwhelm at every level by putting the customer last. The latest round involved me asking the pharmacy employee for advice on lip care for my child's sun burned lips. She was obviously more interested in shutting down for the night rather than helping me. She said she was busy, could not help, and to talk with the pharmacist. The pharmacist overheard the conversation and responded with " I am busy." The first employee then responded by saying she was not a licensed pharmacist, closed down the security grill, and then shut off the lights. It was epic as it looked as if the process was done in one move without blinking. She was really fast and efficient at doing that task. Unlike the rest of her job duties. Some nice young lady helped me and my son with some great information on some good lip care pain reliever. For that, I was very grateful. She was not an employee, but rather a patron that witnessed what happened. She echoed her frustration with this branch and the rude staff. In the past I have dealt with the attitude issues, long lines, excessive wait times, and just an overall poor experience. After the last incident, I talked with the branch manager. I don't expect any change and all will be the same. Nor do I expect any staff or policy changes from CVS based on my post. It is what it is for now. However, the customers can make a difference going forward. For those looking to find a good pharmacy, do not use this location. You would be better off served by trying a different pharmacy and location in Davis. For existing customers, leave and go to another pharmacy. If that is not an option, file a complaint with the manager every time you have a bad experience. Also, post your experiences online. At some point, changes will be made. Or this branch will go the way of the Long's store that was there. It will go away. read more

Just waited over 35 minutes for a prescription I was told would take 15. I checked on it after 15 minutes had passed. They told me 5 this time. 20 minutes went by. People who arrived after me were served before me. I inquired again, and they filled it right in front of me which took about one minute to do. Super lame. read more

I have only had 1 run in with the pharmacy, and it was pretty miserable. For some reason their computer was down, and it couldnt process my driver's license ID number. I was in pretty bad pain, and just wanted to get some anti-biotics, and lay down. However, this system error turned into an hour long ordeal, where I sat down in front of the magazine rack and found out how crappy of a magazine MAXIM is. However, I kinda like the non-pharmacy part of this CVS. The workers are pretty friendly, and even greeted me with a cheery "hello" at 2am when I realized I ran out of floss. Whats cool about this CVS, is that at all times, there is at least one product in the store that is on super clearance, that you can get alot of for dirt cheap. Once, I found 5 gum for like 75% off! Tonight, my floss was buy one get two free! Its kinda lame, but sometimes when I am bored, I will head over to CVS and try and find the clearance item. I have been with this pharmacy for several years. It's been bad from the beginning, but they continue to surprise me in how they operate. I picked up my prescription, paid my co-pay. I take 3 a day of this medication, so a month's worth would be 90 pills. I only received 30 pills. I called and asked for the rest of my prescription. They said I could pick it up same day (great). My husband went to get the other 60 pills, and they charged him the co-pay as well. They suck. It's closest to my house. Ugh. read more

This place has awesome sales! Everyday there are sales. And if you have your CVS card, you can scan the little machine by the door to get even more discounts in the form of coupons. I especially love how they have deep discounts on make-up. It's not all the time though; you just get lucky when you walk in one day to find that things are 50% -75% off. Not to mention that it's 24hrs! If you need something in the middle of the night, you can rely on CVS. The workers are also pleasant and friendly. I've always had smooth transactions. It's very odd moving to a new town and forgetting that you'll need to figure out where all the essential spots are. For instance, when I sliced my finger open preparing roasted beets, I did not know where to find an ER in Davis or if one even existed in the 530. Luckily an ER was close enough that I was able to drive myself there (thank you manfriend and google for sorting out the details of that while I staunched the flow of blood). Crisis #2 involved realizing that I had left all my blank cds in SF the night before I was set to TA my first lab. I needed to take a bunch of files with me to the lab and had nothing to transport the data on. In SF, finding blank cds or a memory stick at 10pm isn't such a problem but in Davis it's another story. I'm happy to say that this Longs is open 24 hours just like the Safeway next door, making it a pretty convenient stop when you need something random in the middle of the night. Considering that many restaurants in Davis stop seating at some ungodly early hour (8 or 830pm on the weekends) finding a 24 hour anything here is a score. 3.5 stars. read more

I go to the CVS next to Spaceway because its closer to my house.. Monday AM, I take in my expired bottle of dental rinse as I am out and need more before my Wednesday dentist visit. The technician says what I expect - she will fax in a request to renew, and could have it done later in the day. The automated system will call me when prescription is filled. No call from CVS on Monday afternoon, I'm sure everyone is busy. No call on Tuesday, but I am out of town anyway. Drop by later that night, but Pharmacy has closed. Wednesday, I am at my dentist's office and ask if they received a fax from my CVS and they said "no -sorry". Thursday, I went back to CVS and told them no fax received at dentist office. They looked at a list on wall and said "oh the fax never went through". I am wondering - why wasn't I notified of that fact days earlier? The tech said - perhaps his number is changed - I said unlikely, he has been there for me since 1992 and much earlier than that... The tech calls the dentist office while I am there, and she asks for the fax number. The tech says to me after she hangs up with the office, "oh, it must be wrong in our CVS database - that happens..." I'm unimpressed, because CVS must have changed the database since the last time the tech went through this refill process last year, She says she "will re-fax and the request will be signed when the dentist comes in the next day." I am writing this Tuesday at noon - a full 8 days after I first went to this CVS. I have yet to hear from the automated system or the pharmacy tech. Oh yeah, the CVS database must have been change and lost my phone number since I gave it to them last week... When I see my dentist on Wednesday again for a followup visit without the rinse, I will be asking myself why I didn't go to some other pharmacy - hey, like that independent El Macero Pharmacy, right near my office! This is the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. - always long lines - slow to fill - rude staff - do not state the actual name of the drug (ie calling out birth control instead of what is on the prescription) - never get out of this store in under an hour - gave me the wrong dose of the medicine and acted like they were doing me a favor by exchanging it for the correct dose after I came all the way back to the store - if there is ever a problem it is assumed to first be your fault. - never a painless visit. - transferring all my medicines after moving took 2 weeks! read more

CVS bought Long's, and I love them for that. They changed up the place, reorganized everything, added carpet and made it a LOT less K-mart looking. The employees are very helpful and will randomly ask you if you need help. Sometimes it's a bit irritating, but great if you're actually looking for something and can't find it yourself. Their stuff is reasonably priced and sometimes their stuff is cheaper than Safeway's next door, but not usually. I sometimes run around in both stores to see which store has an item for cheaper, but most of the time, CVS costs just a bit more. I'm glad they're open 24/7! read more

They called me later that day to tell me that I needed to bring it back. It is difficult to find a place to develop 35 mm film and being in Davis, I did not have that many options nor did I want to travel far. I called to confirm before going in and the person on the phone had no knowledge nor did she sounded like she wanted to help me. She kept saying "I don't know, it all depends." The only answer I got out of her was yes they do develop 35 mm. So maybe this is my fault that I eagerly wanted to see my pictures already but I end up going. I went to CVS and behold the same rude girl...no help, just gave me the envelope to fill out and put my film in. Once I gave it to her she told me "we're not responsible for any damages," which got me a little worried but I thought CVS is just playing the middle man, they should be going to a place that knows what they're doing. Today I went to pick it up, SAME girl. This time I got her name, Johanna or Joanna. I don't want to bash on her too much cause honestly this CVS never has enough workers. But keep in mind that when I called for an update before my pictures came in, a man answered and he was so nice! She is just so unapproachable in my opinion. My pictures are horrible! It looks like they took a tiny photo and tried to stretch it out to fit a 4x6, there was not one decent photo. Plus the quality of the sheets itself felt poor. Back at home where I used to get my film tells me how bad of a quality these photos where. So moral of the story: 35 mm film, go the extra mile to get it developed at a camera store, even if the store doesn't develop it themselves they probably know companies that will do a better job. Learn from my mistake and DO NOT get it developed here. Also keep in mind that they do not give you back your negatives, so if you decided to risk it and go here and they end up being horrible, you don't have negatives to re-develop. Ok so let me start by saying that I have been trying to get my Flu Shot for a couple weeks now trying to be responsible. I used CVS's system for booking a vaccination appointment. It was a whole process and finally my appointment was at 2:15pm which was the first appointment after the pharmacists lunch break. The pharmacist didn't get back until 2:30 and didn't show up until closer to 2:40. She said nothing, sat down and started calling names that were not mine. Somehow there were almost 4 or more people in line before me... how?!? As I'm standing there and wasting my time I just decided to leave because it was not worth the wait. I will be going to my primary care for my vaccination because I was so frustrated with how they handled this situation. I would have given less than one star if possible. read more

I can see from the other reviews that it's the same problem over and over again- prescriptions not ready when they say they will be and unfriendly staff. One of the people at the pick up counter clearly didn't want to be there when I was checking out a few weeks ago. I've been to other CVS pharmacies that aren't like this, so it must be a problem with the management and staff. I wish someone from corporate would pay attention to all of the bad reviews. The folks that run the general merchandise have always been pleasant and helpful. However, the pharmacy has been a consistent disappointment for a number of years. They seldom seem interested in helping customers, and they seem to work on the tenet that the customer is always wrong. Once (it's been some time now) I was even accused of trying to falsify a prescription for a controlled drug. It was their problem with the prescription. They always have more difficulty receiving prescriptions than any other pharmacy, and according to them it is always the physician's fault. I started using this pharmacy because they were open 24 hours and I find it difficult to make it to the pharmacy during the day. However, they restricted the hours some time ago. I've been patient for too long. Now I'm switching pharmacies. read more

The pharmacy staff are rude, condescending, and wouldn't listen or let me finish my question without interrupting. After the prescription was paid for, the tech held it in her hand and refused to hand it over until she "explained the law". I am a healthcare provider and am writing this review through the lens of an individual who provides perscriptions . I have yet to have a patient who did not complainabout the level of service : 1. Wait time 2. Unwilligness to assist with insurance confusion ( the elderly are often those with this issue ) 3. The wrong medication ,the wrong dose ,the wrong patient name 4. Extraordinary lack of courtesy and preponderance of rudeness to those who are already not feeling well. I am uncertain why the above issues exist however,having spent some time in the pharmacy as a customer and then as an informal observer I would guess that the following issues could be at the core of the consistent lack of customer satisfaction: 1. Lack of counter staff to ring up perscriptions 2. Pharmacist working the counter to ring up customers while they have a pile of perscriptions they cannot fill because they are doing a cashiers job. 3, Very rude and uunhappy staff ( NEVER SMILE) My solution : You are a 24 hour pharmacy as such it is the expectation that you staff as such . Do not place your professional staff at the counter when they should be filling prescriptions. Hire more counter staff so that the pharmacist can do their job ... this will be cheaper than the overtime you very likely pay and lawsuits that may happen (or have happend)due to the inability of the pharmacist to concentrate on their job ......errors happen when chaos is in control and indeed this is the case .... I am hopeful that things will improve and that CVS is not behaving in this manner because they are the only 24 hour pharmacy and as such have a monopoly . I went back and forth all day with this pharmacy to figure out what generic prescription my insurance will cover. The level of communication is ZERO. In the longest most drawn out terms...I was told they sent one of my prescription back to the doctor to request a generic version. Later when I went In I asked if they had heard anything back. The first lady I spoke to carried on the entire conversation without raising her eyes to look at me. Then she got frustrated with my simple question and asked another lady if she knew what I was talking about. This lady came up to me and asked me "do you remember what I told you on the phone"...WOW! Well, after reading the other reviews of this pharmacy, it is clear that the management is not concerned that their employees are not only rude, but unprofessional as well. There is so much competition in the pharmacy industry now, they should be striving to be the best that they can be, rather than acting arrogant and rude. I have always enjoyed the CVS network, however I find frustration with the communication @ the pharmacy. Multiple times I have received automated calls telling me my meds are ready, only to discover once I get there that they are not. As a standard, I now have to verify by phone that my meds are ready. 50% of the time they are not. Sorry for the honesty... If CVS is looking for advice, change your phone message to say that '...you should contact the pharmacy to discuss your prescription...' Don't have me get out of my house only to find that they need another hour or two. Don't tell me that my meds are ready if they are not. Not Cool. read more

I've liked the service here. I usually go get stuff around 2 am cuz I hate lines. And the night shift workers has been nice to me. I'm surprised with all the negative reviews. As for the pharmacy, everyone's been pretty helpful. Bryan, the pharmacist, helped me out with my medication transfer from the UC davis pharmacy. It wasn't easy getting it done cuz the UC davis pharm was too busy, but Brian got it done. The pharmacy line can be long but it's not like a cash register was not being used either. Everyone is continuously moving and working. It's just busy cuz there's so many customers. read more

Avoid this pharmacy. Two weeks ago I was told they had cut back 100 employee hours per week. Tonight we waited an hour partially because the pharmacist was trying to help a woman who needed syringes for her MS shots. It was her third attempt. We have waited well over a week for a medication which was out of stock. Lines routinely run 8+ people. It is not the staff, it is management. They clearly value profits over customer service. The best pharmacy by far in the area is Corner Drug in Woodland, but the hours are less convenient. From now on, I will make the drive. read more

I really hesitate in giving one star ratings but honestly after my multiple bad experiences here I think to give it any more stars would be sugar coating a big customer service issue that they have in this CVS. Im going to focus on a Cashier named David, this guy has got to the the rudest cashier out there. This guy is very selective in who he is nice with. There was a middle aged person in-front of me tonight and David had no issues being nice to him. When it was my turn, not a word from his mouth, he didn't even take my CVS number and I had to tell him twice that I had a number until he finally looking quite annoyed he enabled the pay station so I could punch it in myself. Usually this is something the Cashier asks for from my experience with other cashiers in this establishment and in other CVS. I have let his behaviour slide for about a year or so out of sheer compassion stemming from the fact that customer service jobs are not easy, but tonight was it, if you are in customer service you need to have some basic manners down, especially in a CVS such as this one where the first thing you see upon entrance is the pay station and the cashier. I understand that he must be tired working at night but that doesn't excuse his awful customer service skills, I've had issues with him before, where I get no greeting, he won't say a word at the register and times where he hands me my receipt in a way where he is almost uncomfortable with the idea of having the slightest of contact with me. People like him should not be working in a customer service job, if they can't leave your biases. life problems, whatever else at the door. Sure we are not obliged to like everyone but at the very least when at work he should learn how to behave in an unbiased welcoming manner. His behaviour is so off-putting that I've delayed purchases for another time if I see him on register multiple times. CVS if you care at all about your image rectify this and give these people some training, your cashier, David desperately needs Customer Service 101. read more
