Pharmacy line going into the aisle.
    Zack H.

This location has become a headache. It doesn't matter if you call ahead, your medication will not be ready when you get there. Also, you may have to wait in their very long line to the pharmacy before you find out. I'll be switching pharmacies soon.

This rating is a split between my opinion of the pharmacy and the staff of the actual retail store. To be fair, I am going to admit that I am not a frequent customer of this location, so take that as you will. Since this location is down the street from my home, I honestly tried to use this a lot in the past since our old insurance was through CVS. It seemed every single time I had to go to the pharmacy there was some sort of problem and I didn't find the pharmacy staff to be especially friendly or helpful. In fact, I cannot remember a single time the prescriptions were ready when I was told they would be and I typically wasted gas on multiple trips. Honestly, I started using the one on Teasley and only came here for more emergency situations. I always regretted those though. During those visits, if I needed anything from the store, I would just grab it and pay at the pharmacy. About 2 years ago we switched insurance and now use Walgreens so I recognize that things could have changed. However, I did stop in last year and asked about the blood pressure machines they sold and the pharmacy staff was still unhelpful. So the majority of my visits since then have been to get something from the actual retail store and most of those have been in the last 3 or 4 months. I typically come on a weekend, around mid morning. The staff that is working at that time is incredibly nice and they try to be helpful. I also want to recognize that they have done a great job in stocking their location. Almost every weekend morning visit (I believe more often on Saturdays, but occasionally on Sundays) they have been stocked in the paper goods that regular grocery stores were out of, of course with purchase limits. It may be more expensive, but when you are out of toilet paper or paper towels then I'm sure that can be overlooked more often than not. My personal win with this location was a couple of months ago when I was looking for a thermometer and had struck out at eight different stores. They had three types, starting at $8.50 and it was such a relief! The following weekend I stopped in to get something else but I walked by the same area and saw they still had a good supply of thermometers! That initial visit though, all I wanted was the thermometer and their server had gone down. They were actively trying to fix it and couldn't even take cash at that time. We left it with them at the counter and went out to our car to wait for 10-15 minutes before planning to check back in with them. A few minutes later one of the staff came to the door and waved us in with a big smile. I couldn't believe they made time to do so, they were not slow by any means! So if you need to stop in to the store, raise the rating and know that I recommend. If you need to stop in to use the pharmacy then lower the rating and go to the Teasley or Corinth (2181) locations instead.

They never answer the phone at the pharmacy. Literally ever! Go somewhere else bc they are awful with communication.

We really wanted to buy as much craft beer as we could find and Howdy Doody did not disappoint. Why and how did we end up there? We called ahead and ordered a few meals from Mr. Chopsticks so we could eat on when we got home the next day. After we went through the drive thru, we parked and walked over to Howdy Doody to check out their selection. For a small store, their selection of craft beer is amazing!!! Definitely wasn't expecting the amount that they had! We checked out the "craft beer" store near UNT and their selection was disappointing in comparison. If you want craft beer, go to Howdy Doody!

Their beer prices are kind of high - for craft can 6 packs, we usually pay $10. That said, the prices are pretty comparable to the beer prices at Midway, and Howdy Doody is easier to get in and out of. They don't always have what I am looking for, but they always have something that I like (something I cannot say for the nearby 7-11) when it comes to beer. PokéStop next door at Chopsticks, and a gym across the street at the doctor's office. The employees here are always pretty chill - no one is particularly friendly and I've never seen an employee out from behind the counter, but they are always nice, fast, and get the job done without issue. Overall, if I have the time, I go elsewhere for beer, but only because of the price. Otherwise, this is a neat little c-store in a great location.

This is definitely a hole-in-the-wall taqueria, located right off the train tracks on McKinney. You may not even notice them! They are in a yellow & blue building with a red covered parking area. #2. There is a drive-thru option which I used. They were pretty fast so I didn't have to wait very long. I was there for less than 10 minutes, including the short wait behind the truck in front of me in line. #3. The taco plate I ordered was around 9 dollars, which is about what I expect. You can order the tacos a la carte, if you'd prefer, which seemed to be about 2 dollars each #4. The rice. I have made authentic homemade Mexican rice for years, using family recipes passed down through many generations. So believe me when I say, the rice was near perfect. It was warm, fluffy and the flavor was on point, just like the authentic rice I know & love. #6. My only criticism was that I do feel the pollo may have been cut a little too large for the size of the corn tortillas. Smaller pieces may have helped it from falling apart so easily. Other than that, the overall flavor of the tacos were great, especially with their salsa verde drizzled on top, which was delicious and tasted homemade. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be back to try more of their menu. There were a few things I feel could be improved, but nothing major. Looking forward to trying their barbacoa tacos next!
