We shop here at least twice a week and spend a fortune in their pharmacy. Some of the departments have gone badly down hill and specifically the deli. The service is surly and always a long wait. The way they slice the meat is amateurish but the prices are high. I tried to reach a manager to discuss this but after being on hold for at least 15 minutes the call just hung up on me. A member of management (Chris) was nicer than some of the other employees at several King Soopers I've visited, but he still said to me, "corporate wouldn't like petition circulators out here" and "you need to leave" ... What about the 1st Amendment? Bock v. Westminster Mall Co.? He didn't care. Right now, I feel saddened about the lack of tolerance for civic engagement in Denver area Ming Soopers. This is my go to King Soopers. It is always clean, the people working there are friendly and they have what I am looking for most of the time. I feel like the parking lot is easy to get in and out of and if I just need to run in quickly I'll go through the liquor store part in the back for faster check out. I sometimes come in for lunch and get their yummy fresh sushi or Chesters fried chicken. That chicken is SO good. Easy and cheap lunch options. read more

Have been going to this king soopers for the past year almost everyday on my lunch brake and have never had a problem until today. I was checking the hot wheels as I do every time I'm in the store and see a set that I was going to purchase. there are two places for the hot wheels so I go to the second place they have them put out with the other set I picked up from the first place. I then decide I actually don't need the set and set it down. I'm at checkout getting the items I actually needed and as I'm leaving this lady security guard asked what I did with the hot wheels that I had in a very rude tone and looked me up and down. I've seen her before because like I said, I have been going there almost every single day for a year on my lunch break and have not had a problem with her until now. Just tried this location. They don't communicate well about costs and what your insurance covers and doesn't cover.

The store is fine, but they treat their employees worse than I truly have ever heard of. Managers yell at employees in the middle of the store(I have experienced this twice now) and they have implemented genuinely insane new guidelines in which employees earn "demerits" for being 2 minutes late(yes, actually) or leaving early even if all tasks are completed for the day if you cannot remember which manager you talked to. A job is not a daycare and King Soopers will pay the price if employees are not taken care of. I will not ever shop here again if things do not change; and I know many others who would switch to a grocery store that actually CARED about their employees if respect for your people doesn't change. Don't forget that the people are in charge; and the people are in charge of your profits. Disgusting behavior from a company that is run by employees and management who prove the Stanford Prison Experiment. Do better. read more

This King Sooners is so conveniently close to where I live, so it's where I get most of my main grocery shopping done. Parking can be annoying, but I don't really mind having to walk. It does seem like things are always out of stock, but I can usually find most things I need. I do like how many self check-out machines there are so I never really have to wait long to buy my groceries. Everyone working there is usually very friendly and can help me locate things I can't find. Overall I'm happy with going grocery shopping here and can't complain! read more

I am 70 years old and often shop with my wife who is 65. We went to the Leetsdale store today to purchase a bottle of wine. To our surprise we were denied service because my wife did not have her license with her. We were rudely told we both needed an ID to purchase alcohol and THEN watched over us like we were doing something illegal! Fortunately they are not the only store in the area. I used to come into the store weekly, but I started doing grocery pickup the last few weeks at the recommendation of others. It made me nervous to have someone pick out my produce and select substitutions for me but overall I have been pleased. They even will charge you the lower price between two products if they make a change! (Tip: put as much in the notes as possible, of you aren't fond of certain brands / have alternate preferences). My only complaint is you can't have an active conversation through the app. It would be nice if you could do more than mark yes or no as they do your shopping. The staff that bring out the groceries have also always been very friendly. This is a good store to go into as well but I will be using grocery pickup to save time as much as possible. read more

This store seems to be consistently chaotic. That I don't blame on them. But self checkout isn't enough? You also have to check the receipt before I can pay? After waiting in line, scanning and bagging everything I just left it there. i would understand if there was some big ticket item, but it was $40 worth of random small groceries. I don't see how corporate could think saving money on cashiers by making customers do it only to accuse us of petty theft all the time is a good business model. I will continue to leave things at the register as long as those self-checkout machines continue to be too finicky to use without needing an employee to assist me. read more

I liked this store for the most part for a long time since I live up the street and most things here are decent quality. Lately though, there are always people outside where we put carts away asking for money. The panhandling is a huge turnoff. I thought it was under control since I hadn't seen it in a few weeks but they're back and I see people who work there gathering carts without even saying anything to these groups of people panhandling. Considering switching grocery stores but either way, more people are going to start avoiding this place if they don't keep people from doing that. read more

The self-checkout scanners required a clerk to check my last movement or something stupid like that which was ridiculous because all I was doing was looking for a barcode. Then there was no one attending the area, or should I say the clerk was helping one person for about 10 solid minutes without even looking up. I go look for a manager who finally came and investigated my hand gesture or something stupid like that. I don't like using the self-check out lanes because of this stupidity and further, I don't friggin work there. This place is a neighborhood grocery store in Denver. Review it on that. This place is a little out of my way. If I need groceries, and I am out this way, I go to Target. However, I decided to swing in today. Now, I admit, I have been a few times to grab an item or two. Today, I bought all my groceries for the week. I loved the selection of veggies and fruits. The layout was a little weird, as I learned it. It didn't seem to flow as easily as other places, but there was a lot more selection. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is one of the few places I saw longer lines at the check-outs instead of the self-check out area. I see why, as the staff were delightful to talk to. read more

I waited 15 minutes as the pharmacy technician/cashier waited on a 20-something young man ahead of me. He joked, chatted, asked for something prescribed for his one eye to apply to the other eye, argued, chatted, joked and asked more questions. He was neither rushed nor hurried. When it was my turn, the technician/cashier wanted to get rid of me in 30 seconds. The attitude was: Just Shut-Up, Pay and Go! I am not a young 20-something. But sporting a few gray hairs qualifies no one for disrespect. My medication is not frequently prescribed. Nor had I ever taken the medication before. I asked if a pharmacist could answer some questions. The request was met with impatient disgust as a pharmacist was reluctantly requested. The entire experience was totally unpleasant. read more

Fri. evening on 12/20/24 at about 7:15 PM I stopped here to fill up my gas tank. When I got back in my car it wouldn't start. The battery was dead. The young man who was working at the gas pumps cash register was SO kind!! He tried to start the car for me, gave me suggestions, came over several times to make sure I was ok, he simply could not have been any more kind & helpful! I went into the store at the south entrance & told the security guard my sad story. He also bent over backwards to be as kind & helpful as he could possibly be!! I mean, he went WAY above & beyond in order to try to help me. He even called the Glendale Police Dept for me, which is what ended up saving me. They arrived & jumpstarted my battery & I got home. (Thank you Glendale PD, you guys are awesome!!). There were a couple other employees who also tried to help me. Unfortunately I didn't get any of their names :( But they deserve a huge commendation for how helpful & wonderful they are!!! read more

This store looks nice outside but closer to up not so much, flowers are always wilted, food in the bakery looks legit old and dried out. The cheese cakes looked like they had been there for ages. The employees ignored me when asking for assistance and the customer service desk could not be bothered either. The nice man out at the gas station was kind though. read more

I'm from California so having a liquor store separate from a grocery store was a little new to me but pretty awesome! The employees all around King Super were nice and extremely friendly. Um, they have a wing bar. They have a mothereffin wing bar with not only bone in wings but boneless as well with a variety of flavors! Kill me because I can officially go to heaven now. I never knew a wing bar existed but this is my go to King Soopers so I can pick up groceries and dinner and some hooch in their spirits section. Besides baby girl channeling Elvira or Amy Winehouse (or both) who works the express lanes, this is the best King Soopers around. Oh yeah, did I mention they have a frickin wing bar???? read more

Ordered a fresh turkey, what we got was a previously frozen one that wasn't completely thawed. The turkey is labeled never frozen. We pulled out chunks of ice the size of a tennis ball. For what we paid we could have bought a cooked one from a different company. Will never purchase a turkey from here again. read more

I'm not sure why I was so enthusiastic on my first review of this store. Now that I've been here quite a few more times, my perspective has shifted. Firstly, they no longer have hand baskets. At all. I thought I had just walked past them, but I asked the security guard who then informed me that they just don't have them. So you have two choices here - awkwardly carry an armful of groceries around that's allllmost a little bit too much to carry but not enough for a cart, or get a cart and try to navigate it through the jam-packed aisles while wishing they just provided baskets. I know, I know, this might seem small and trivial to some, but it's an inconvenience. Also, this store is ALWAYS busy. Don't even think about coming here on Sundays - you will regret it. You can barely walk through the aisles, there are so many people, and the checkout lines are often so long that they wind through the main walkway and back into the aisles. On the weekends and right after typical working hours, you would think they were giving away free groceries. Seriously. It's as though the 100,000 people that are moving to Denver each year unanimously decided to shop at this store. Yes, they have booze, but between finding a parking spot, not being able to use a basket, and wading through the masses just to pick up a few items, coming here just isn't worth it.
