Anyway, it's usually very easy to pick up my (1) medication here, but today, a slip of paper printed out saying "merchant approval needed". I saw an alert that my card was approved for my medication... The cashier didn't seem to understand what "merchant" meant, and tried to make me call my CC company to get it done. The manager told me it would take a while.. so I told her it wasn't a problem, I trust they're capable of handling it. My phone suddenly alerted me to another transaction, and told her it was approved, to which she denied. She had me swipe my card AGAIN.. ANOTHER duplicate transactions and only 2 minutes later, she was done. I guess it takes "a while" when you don't know what you're doing... read more

CVS is on life support. From the corporate boardroom to the pharmacist at the local stores, CVS is a business that is failing in slow-motion. A company that used to offer some semblance of customer support, now offers none at all. This particular store in East Rockaway, NY., is a perfect example of how not to manage a pharmacy, or, any business for that matter. There was a time when the people working there actually had an understanding of why they were working there in the first place: to serve their customers. Those of you who have patronized this store for some time probably remember the pharmacist Bill, who always went above and beyond to assist the customers. When he left, this CVS store began its slide to the bottom. The current group of pharmacists and assistants in this store exude an attitude that is so negative that it's hard to put it into words; suffice to say, they don't like the customers, they don't want to work there, and most importantly, they do not care about the customers on a personal or professional level. The problems at the store level are indicative of the attitude at the top of the company. As the saying goes "a fish rots from the head down." They just won't listen to any complaints from customers because they've forgotten who it is they work for and why they are in business in the first place. They have now put their contempt for their customers into policy: Customers can no longer speak directly with a pharmacist or assistant when you contact them by phone. Instead, you now have to leave a message, and hope that one of their staff gets back to you. The manager of the store seems to actually care about the customers, but she is unable to hold back the tide of ineptitude, contempt, and overall incompetence of the pharmacy staff. It's just a matter of time before this location shuts down. I'm no longer a customer and I've spoken to many others who have exited this s*hit show. This review is my opinion about this business and you might find that your experience differs from mine. With that said, I cannot recommend this business and highly recommend that shoppers go elsewhere. read more

This review is strictly for the pharmacy: Last year I had a extremely high risk pregnancy and was prescribed all kinds of medication including a very annoying hard to get blood thinner (love ox) not only did the pharmacy staff go out of their way to make sure I always had my medication available for refill they always checked in with me they actually cared. They helped me find ways to cover medications that wasn't covered Diclegis with coupons from the manufacturer of the drug but they never made me feel uncomfortable. Yes at times you do have to wait they are very busy location mainly because of Bill who seems to know everyone and everyone seems to know him. Now that my daughter is on a medication that needs to be special ordered each refill Hemangeol I'm still receiving the same warm friendly service. read more

I go to CVS a lot - one of their Top Savers. Do not use their Pharmacy, but buy things like mouthwash and shampoo. This is my first and hopefully last time at this location. Absolutely impossible to find anything there. The store does not have proper aisle signs. No self-checkout and only one person at the register... read more

They have a carpeted floor and allow people with dogs on a leash to walk through the store, disgusting. They have no self checkouts and after waiting in line almost 10 minutes and the line not moving I left. read more

One of the most unorganized pharmacies I have ever dealt with. Typically, long lines and unexpected errors when picking up prescriptions. I was told my prescription would be ready in twenty minutes. Only to come back two days later and still get a run around about the computer system being down and my prescription was no longer valid. Have been several times and always an issue. Never again. read more

Unfortunately, the pharmacists are very rude and never tell you if an rx is out of stock and needs to be ordered. So you drop it off expecting it to be ready (at the most) within a few days. Then you come back a few days later and they tell you "oh sorry we don't have it, it's been discontinued let me try another brand." Meanwhile you're out of meds by then and you suffer until they get you the meds from another company. Shame because I've been a customer for over 15 years. However, after experiencing three of the aforementioned incidents, I will no longer patronize this pharmacy. read more

CVS East Rockaway(Main Street location) I give five stars to Bill the pharmacist for always being a professional. As for Alex the pharmacist I give one star. Alex is too new a graduate to be in charge of an entire pharmacy. He needs another solid ten years under his belt before he can manage properly. read more
