Hi everyone -- I wanted to share a recent experience so others can stay cautious. I purchased a couple of Macy's gift cards from the CVS in Elmsford (Store ID #2579, 7-11 East Main Street, Elmsford, NY 10523). Unfortunately, when the person I gave them to tried to use them, we discovered there was no balance, and the PIN areas appeared to be scratched off or tampered with. The cards looked brand new, so there was no obvious way to know there might be an issue at the time of purchase. I plan to return to the store to speak with a manager and request a refund. Just a heads-up to double-check any gift cards you buy and verify the packaging before leaving the store and ask for receipts. I wouldn't recommend you buy gift cards at the store. read more

Do not waste your time at this pharmacy. The staff is unhelpful and dishonest. They will claim prescriptions have already been picked up when they haven't, or say a prescription is written incorrectly just to avoid calling the doctor for verification on a controlled substance. I visited twice, and both times the pharmacy manager, Bridget Graham, refused to help me get my dog's prescription. The first time (on a Saturday), she told me she would need to verify the prescription with the doctor's office and suggested I return during the week. When I came back at 5pm (two hours before closing), she gave me attitude, insisted I was "too late" again, and claimed the prescription was written incorrectly. When I asked her to explain what was wrong, she couldn't give a clear answer, refused to call the office, and even tried to withhold her full name when I said I would be filing a complaint. Her behavior was unprofessional, dismissive, and showed a complete lack of empathy. My dog is now without needed medication because she refused to do her job. Sadly, this isn't just my experience--other family members have had similar issues here and switched to different pharmacies. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere. Update: I was able to fill my prescription at a different pharmacy with ZERO issue. Nothing was wrong with the way the prescription script was written and they did not have to call the office to verify the medication. while doing some biz in the elmsford area i made a stop at the local cvs and i couldnt believe this sh#t, a bum was filling up his bag with stuff with such abandonment and no care in the world. i got the attention of the manager and he called the cops but mr crook had already bounce .ok it is what it is and now is me grabbing a diet pepsi , a few candy bars as its my lunch break. fairly standard cvs from front to back and pharmacy in rear. not open 24/7 but area is mostly a ghost town as night as folks who know elmsford will understand. many of these type of bizs have been hit hard by no care in the world shoplifters and stores are closing left and right cause of it . 3 stars on my yelp meter and i will add another star if crook is caught. read more

This CVS location is disgusting. The parking lot is full of trash, and the windows are covered with taped up fliers. Every time I am forced to come here you need to walk past "locals" who just hang out in the store front. These people make comments to you as you pass by making it an uncomfortable experience... I would not recommend this location to anyone who could not defend themselves if needed. Women, please be careful. Inside is cluttered and unorganized. Skip this location and go hp the road to the Greenburgh CVS it's night and day better. read more

The dirty inside and outside is only outdone by the rudest, most incompetent and unhelpful pharmacy staff possible. Were out of stock on a medication I needed right away. I got a text it was ready then I arrive and "nope we don't have it." I had the nerve to ask the clerk to find it at an another location and the response I got was his palm raised to my face followed by, "I'm done with you." My Physician ordered me a prescription on Tuesday, I kept checking on the status of it but every day they kept telling me it was being worked on. Actually, it was not even being given the attention that it needed. My husband finally went, in person, to find out what happened. The staff at the pharmacy denied that I called to check on it regardless of the the various evidence of calls placed in my phones log. This is a serious issue that a pharmacy of CVS's caliber should take note because they are playing with the health of peoples health. Shame on you CVS! Shame on you for having people like this work in your facility and treat your customers like that. read more

Your phone service is absolute trash. Could not get what I wanted and impossible to just be transferred to a real person.

This has got to be one of the worst CVS pharmacies, and I am a fan of CVS overall. I love the idea of being able to shop for groceries, vitamins, sundries while waiting for my prescription. its convenience at its best. It took the pharmacist 5 hours to get my ;prescription ready and I specifically told them it was urgent and I needed it in 2 hours by 4pm, they said they would have t ready. read more

CVS seems to be the only place where i can find babylips lip balms. So of course when i'm in the area i run in here and try and pick up at least two. Staff is usually friendly. They always have a line and only one cash register open but when they need help they do call for someone to come to the front end to also ring. read more

This particular CVS is close to a lot of neighborhoods, making it convenient. However, service is often times non-existent, with the pharmacy really being the saving grace of the place. Even then, at one point, you would wait forever for a prescription. But, the pharmacist who manages the area is great, understanding and has a sense of humor. He's an older man, but he very much fits the neighborhood pharmacist persona. But, the front of the store is not so good. I was recently insulted by a manager and two associates who laughed at me for five minutes for using a coupon that I received from THEIR rewards program. Some way to reward customers. The lines are ALWAYS long as associates conversate and talk about customers in front of others (the stories I've heard about OTHER people) and in general try to be condescending in various ways. The people here take their jobs too seriously, while also not taking them seriously enough to actually serve customers. They're terrible and don't even deserve to have those jobs because they're not good at them. Worst customer service in a CVS. If I didn't live so close, I'd bypass it and go to another. read more

I had a prescription called in by my OB and I called them to see if they received it about two hours later. The man who picked up said that he did but he didn't have the ointment in stock and could probably get it within 24 hours. I asked if he could call another CVS bc I was in a lot of pain and needed it. He said he was too busy but that I could do it myself and if they had it he would fax it over. I did just so and found it at cvs closer to my house. I called and they called and it still took him a while to fax so I had to sit in the knollwood rd CVS with a screaming newborn who popped all over the place while waiting forever for them to fax it. As CVS goes, this pharmacy and the head pharmacist himself are the best I have used. He took the time to get to know me and my special circumstances and has facilitated numerous times with refills that used to be dreadful at other stores (especially Ardsley). I used to have to spend up to 2 weeks begging pharmacists to call the insurance company and sort things out every single time I needed a refill. For the first time in nearly 10 years, the CVS in Elmsford had my refill ready in 30 minutes. I was so happy I wrote a letter to corporate! This alone makes this store my top choice. read more

Worst CVS Pharmacy EVER! Because they are basically the only game in town, many people have to just tolerate the incredibly poor customer service. The pharmacy staff are just rude and not friendly at all, they look miserable to be there. Their attitudes are the least of their problems. When you have a prescription you have been getting filled their for the last 4-5 years, it is hard to understand why they continue to refill it every single time with the wrong prescription. Also, when they say they are going to contact your doctor to resolve an insurance issue, they do not actually do it! I had to call my doctor to have them call the pharmacy because after 2 days of waiting for my prescription they still didn't call my doctor! Drive the extra couple of miles and find another pharmacy. read more
