I have family that lives in Bronxville, and Value Drugs is one of the businesses in the village that they frequent. One of my aunts alerted me of a sale that they have every year around the holidays where most items run 20% off - she usually takes advantage of this sale when purchasing small gifts and stocking stuffers. This year, she asked if I was interested in joining, and since I indeed needed to pick up a few small gifts, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to check Value Drugs out. On the surface, Value Drugs is an independent pharmacy, but it's a little more than that since addition to being a pharmacy and providing corresponding retail items, they have a large selection of non-pharmacy items which gives the feel of almost being a general store. It's a family business as well, with multiple locations in Westchester and on Long Island. The store is quite large - you enter into the main area with general merchandise, and then the pharmacy area is almost in a separate room off to the side. They have a good selection of merch - you can easily spend a good chunk of time browsing. As soon as I entered I focused on the holiday section - I was able to pick up some confections to complement gifts I was giving, and noticed they had a variety of decor as well. Even though the store is large, the aisles are tight - it was a struggle to navigate with all of the foot traffic, however I feel this was an atypical situation due to the sale. Service was good; the store was well staffed and despite everything going on, there was a flow and organization. Overall, I had a good first experience at Value Drugs. I cannot speak for their pharmacy services, but I can see how their other selection along with cleanliness and good service make it a staple in the Bronxville community. read more

They sold fake labubus for weeks knowing it was fake. They refused returns and only stopped when I contacted pop mart legal.

For over 30 years I have shopped at Value Drugs. Today I made my last visit, having no desire to be subjected to the politics of the owner and/or manager. Prominently displayed in an aisle was a Trump calendar. Really? I don't have to be subjected to this political nonsense when shopping. I am happily taking my business elsewhere and suggest that you do, too. read more

The one star is for the attitude of the female staff. The young girls working on the checkouts are terrible. They are miserable, I have never experienced anything remotely pleasant about their demeanour. They don't smile or look in the slightest happy in their jobs. Overall, the store is great, the range of merchandise is spot on. However, I hate coming here because of the girls on the checkout. Management would be wise to install self checkout, it would improve the shopping experience. read more

I make an occasional trip to the very wealthy town of Bronxville. Value drugs sells a variety of non pharmaceutical items, and I like this store. There is metered parking outside, and police guiding the traffic. I recently picked up some lawn chairs and was surprised by the selection. The store has wide aisles, and the patrons and staff were all wearing masks, and socially distancing. The young ladies who work at the counter were all very sweet and helpful. After shopping in store asked an employee to use the rest room. She told me there was none. There was at least 10 employees working in the store at this time so I know this cannot be true. I was in desperate need of restroom and she dismissed me. Terrible customer service! read more

this is one of those helpful stores that has a little bit of everything. fully stocked pharmacy, gifts, stationary, paper plates, cleaning supplies, you name it. always fun holiday stuff too. i needed a type of powdered laundry soap that was proving hard to find and they had it here, of course. read more

Apparently I'm not alone in thinking that the front end cashiers are rude with no manners. Whatever happened to some good, old-fashioned (no one seems to practice this nowadays, esp. not these cashiers) "service with a smile"? The cashier that took my money handed me my change by dangling the coin with her arm stretched out, head turned to talk to her coworker. No eye contact and definitely not a word of thanks. Since I was taught manners, I said "Thank you" but she didn't even turn to say "You're welcome" or exchange any cordial niceties. I repeated my "Thank you" again a bit louder and stood there until she finally stopped her conversation and said, somewhat begrudgingly, "You're welcome." What a shame since the store is otherwise a great place to find just about anything. The pharmacy staff, on the other hand, is professional and knowledgeable. read more

A bit on the pricey** side, but a wonderfully large store to meet most, if not all, of your pharmacy needs. Actually, this store is more like a Harmon Discount store AND they accept Bed Bath & Beyond coupons (must be physical coupons and not e-mail ones from your phone, although you can print and use those), which is awesome. So, grab your coupons, head on over, and shop. Very helpful staff who answered questions about brands they carried and also assisted me in finding items on shelves. Not to mention, they have Soda Stream bottles and other related accessories on sale. Seems to be fully stocked local store with just about any of your basic needs and is conveniently located near the Bronxville train station and many restaurants. Digging the BBB coupon thing, staff were super bubbly and if I need anything else while I'm here, it kinda beats CVS, which always has absurd lines. read more

This is a clean convenient store a walk away for most people in the Bronxville area. Going inside, it has most everything that you need, the store is spick and span and arranged in an orderly manner. However the service staff, as many have mentioned before I, are rude. My mother had tried to return a steamer that she used and was not satisfied with. When giving it back to her, she was criticized for using it and returning it, the cashier asking her: "would you buy something that was used?". Such tone with a customer is extremely disheartening to see of a store that looks wonderful upon entering. read more

Bronxville has secret outposts of weirdness with which it can appeal to eccentrics like me just when we start to think there is so little to like about it. Enter Value Drug and you butt against a series of plastic shelves to your left that you will discover is the mecca of cheap, strange toys. Here you will fill your demand for a rubber chicken keychain that passes an egg in amniotic fluid when you squeeze it, a selection of bouncy balls with a snake (I got a copperhead) lying on the sand inside them or an ocean environment, wind up white mice that look very much like the real thing, rabid looking plastic rats that also look very much like the real thing, a parachuting soldier, bath toys, wind up brains, etc. The fun doesn't stop here. Value Drug supplies not only a wide selection of things you find in normal pharmacies, including tupperware, watches, arts and crafts supplies, "It's Not Your Mother's Broom," and seasonal decorations, in the back you will find action figures, board games, and other normal toy store merchandise to give to your young relatives. In other words, the store comes favorably close to being all purpose and would be really cool if the sales personnel weren't such nasty human beings. read more

Value Drug is one of the weirdest stores I have ever been in. Things I have purchased at Value Drug: a water gun, a lawn chair, yarn, stickers, coffee cup, candy, nail polish, and a friend once bought a 3 pack of tank tops intended for children. There are no words to describe this weird place with possibly weirder hours. You just have to go and play with the light up bouncy balls and look at the premature Christmas ornament displays yourself. It's an experience you probably want to have. Or avoid. read more

This local pharmacy has always looked out for my best interests. Whenever something comes up with a prescription of mine, they don't hesitate to give me a call. They are a quality staff at this location. They also sell various items from balloons to candles, name it and they probably shelf it. I prefer shopping here than CVS. I was in this store the other day and a young mother with a very young daughter (toddler) asked the cashier if her daughter could use the bathroom. The cashier told her, unapologetically, that they don't have a bathroom for customers and to go elsewhere. I am horrified by this. They sell toys and try to appeal to the young mother. How can a store like this not have a bathroom for customer use? Unless I hear from them, I will never return. (And I live in Bronxville and have gone there dozens of times.) read more

Either this was a case of bad customer relations by a nasty manager or a Bait and switch tactic by a dishonorable store: I called regarding their small Weber grill. The young woman sounded unsure and I asked to speak with the manager. She told me she would and then get back to me with answers. I asked if it was in stock, if assembly and delivery were included and if I could use the Bed and Beyond coupon. She interacted with her manager and told me Yes! to all three. Ten minutes later I went to the store. The manager said he recalled the conversation with the girl but No! delivery and assembly would cost $75 and No! the coupon would not be honored. I told him she specifically said it would; his response was "I didn't hear her say that." I told him I was upset that he didn't believe me, which implies I'm lying. He said he didn't meant that but I said I was still upset that he suggested I made it all up. His response: "Have a Happy Easter!" I told him, "That doesn't absolve you from treating me so poorly." read more
