My wife has MCAS, which makes finding medications she can tolerate incredibly challenging. Even very small amounts of fillers, sweeteners, flavors, dyes, or unnecessary additives can cause reactions for her. She often needs prescriptions compounded with the absolute minimum number of ingredients possible, and not every pharmacy understands how critical that is. Mike, the owner, truly gets it. I've been the one working most directly with the pharmacy, and I am genuinely so grateful for the care and attention Mike has shown us. From day one, he has treated my wife's case with seriousness, patience, and real compassion. He has worked closely with her doctors to make sure each medication is compounded exactly the way she needs it, stripped down to the simplest formulations possible. Whenever something needs adjusting, he takes the time to talk it through and problem solve with us. What really sets him apart is how far he is willing to go for his patients. There have been times when our schedule or her health made it difficult to pick up prescriptions during regular hours, and Mike has been willing to meet me at the pharmacy on Sunday mornings when they are formally closed just to make sure my bride had what she needed. That level of dedication is rare. Living with complex medical issues can be overwhelming, but having a pharmacist who treats you like a person and not just a prescription number makes all the difference. This lovely female dog has a condition called Wilson's Disease, and the person who was elected to send me her compounded medication from Oregon was late in doing so. I made several calls to various Compounding Pharmacies in my area, and found only one who could compound the prescription the dog needed. Mike worked patiently and graciously with the pet's vet in Oregon and myself on a very busy Saturday to create the necessary dosage for this animal. The aisles are narrow and crowded, and you can barely get your cart through if other people or carts are in the same aisle as you. This Walmart tries to compensate by making their grocery shelves taller, but how does that work for shorter customers? Since groceries are the most popular purchases, this particular Walmart location needs to reduce the size of some of the other sections, and expand the grocery section to achieve better traffic flow (and more satisfied customers).

I came to switch all my prescriptions and get that $75 reward money for switching, because my pharmacy wasn't contracted with my insurance anymore. Safeway asked my info, and had me fill out a form, including a number to call and text. They said no problem, and that the specific prescriptions I needed would be ready before closing. (It's about 3 hours before closing at this point) I call them a good hour before closing, cause I hadn't heard from anyone - they tell me they have only one prescription filled, and it's NOT the prescription that I said I needed, that they TWICE confirmed with me originally. After mulling over what to do, they say they'll call the other pharmacy and "TRY to figure it out." (I asked why they didn't call either me, or the pharmacy - and the lady couldn't actually give me an answer!) By this time, I know I'm not getting the meds I need tonight. Rite Aid was the next pharmacy closest to me that I could switch to, so I gave them a call. Less than an hour later, they were able to switch them from my previous pharmacy - with zero issues! (When I called the previous pharmacy twice, they kept asking me why Safeway was trying to transfer my prescriptions out wrong?)
