Great sandwiches, quality meats and cheeses. Grab some beer to take home while you're here! Quick service too!

I was craving a turkey sandwich and boy do they deliver a delicious one I got the whistle sandwich which was turkey, lettuce, tomato, mustard, purple onion, avocado, Swiss cheese and mayo. It was a big sandwich so I have my other 1/2 for lunch tomorrow Tasty, friendly staff and cool ambiance! I will definitely be back!

    Sit and enjoy a pint!

Very strange concept for a hang out... inside a convenient store. But my husband and I frequent the Whistle Stop quite often. They have TVs to watch the game, pints of beer, even homemade sandwiches! What's not to like?! WS always has great beers on tap, and a variety of styles which can appeal to anyone! If you don't find a beer you like (which would be difficult) they have coolers full of single beers. If you drink them on site, they do charge a fee of $2 to open it for you. We always drink pints there, and then shop for some to take home. Always like to keep our beer fridge stocked with rare beers, or ones that are harder to get! A new (and welcomed) addition, Crowlers!!! Super excited about that! Sometimes you don't want a full growler filled, so it's nice to have the option! Also comes in handy if you forget a growler at home! Woo Hoo! Thanks for this addition, WS!

Best local spot for a variety of beer- I really am into their selection they have tons of local brews. They also have a really great deli and lots of delicious sandwiches. The owners are in there often very kind people definitely a local business to keep on your radar and support. There is also seating pre-covid and lots of people would gather to watch games it's a lovely spot.

Already ate the first half of this Locomotive. Great sandwich. Try The Whistle too!

Whistle stop has what I need! I come in about twice a week for a sandwich. Fresh everything with Boarshead meat. It also has all the good vices like cigars, lottery tickets, and beer. Only place I know locally that sells Guinness Blonde. Get some!

So good! Such a cool concept to turn a convenience store into a deli! The beer selection is amazing and the sandwiches are top shelf!! Great staff and the owner was even there working! We loved it!!

The Whistlestop Grocery's brand new tap bar. Awesome!

I used to breeze right past this unassuming strip mall convenience store on my nightly commute home. But one day I noticed that they were selling growlers of Mac N Jacks African Amber. I pulled in to check it out and the rest is history. These nice folks have transformed their humble grocery into a microbrew Mecca right here in my own neighborhood! They have a rotating tap of 12 tasty microbrews right in store (Average $2.99 pints as of this review!) and a large cooler selection of bottled craft brews spanning one whole wall. Awesome! You know, the ambiance is...well, it's a well maintained convenience store. But it's also freakin' awesome for all the reasons that will be clear once you experience the neighborhood convenience store micro brew draft phenomenon.

You wouldn't expect it, but this place does a solid sandwich. The hot sandwiches are particularly good.

Do note the sandwich comes with mayo and a whole grain/Dijon mustard so let them know if you don't want sauce.

I know I came here way back in the day, but it was a different location and I remember enjoying it…read more I fully anticipated ordering breakfast as it was 9 am, but after looking over the menu I opted for lunch. Now coming in it was a little awkward as you walk in and the counter is right by the entrance just like most restaurants, but there were no signs that said wait to be seated or seat yourself. After standing there for a couple of minutes I saw people grabbing menus and congregating to the register. I was waiting for someone so it worked out well. You order and then take your number or in this case a magic 8 ball to the table(so they know which order goes where). This location is much larger than I remember. It had a very eclectic ambiance. More or less different types of tables and chairs everywhere, but gave off a homey vibe. The people that were working were very pleasant. We both opted for water, in which they had a water station for you to fill a cup and sit down. After sipping my water I noticed the glass I had was chipped and cracked, a chard actually chipped off in my hand. I took it back up to the front and exchanged it. Probably not the best idea to have all of the glasses stacked on top of on another. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich, in which upon ordering they had to check if they were ready to serve that. I was lucky enough that they were, although I did have a back up plan. The turkey sandwich came out with a mixed green salad with a dressing I was not sure of, but was very refreshing. The turkey sandwich on sourdough was very flavorful and I was very happy with my pick. I would definitely come back here and try more things, although the Cajun sandwich remains on my mind. One of the better sandwiches I have had in a long time!

(gotta climb in the Wayback Machine for that gem!) I loved that I saw at least six versions of my childhood dining room table, which felt so nostalgically comfortable that I wanted to crawl under one with my coloring books and my chocolate milk. But I digress -- you're supposed to be reading my review. I decided that I was in the mood for grilled cheese and tomato soup, so that's what I ordered. The tomato soup is really amazing -- so fresh tasting and delicious. But the sandwich was next level nom-ness. I opted to get it on sourdough because it's the best for dunking into the soup. Totes 'lish (I just thought I would type like one of the cool kids!! In conclusion, I want to talk about the service -- ordering was fairly simple, and the varied menu made it exciting to know there are so many choices. You order in line and the incredible wait staff brings the food quite quickly. With the vibe, the service and all the things, I am definitely coming back.

Every time I visit, I pick up a fruit or vegetable that I haven't tried before. Today it was a small Korean melon with bright yellow skin. The guys who work the fish counter are personable and knowledgeable. The man who helped us made a good suggestion for the type of fish to use in a soup, and didn't grumble when, near closing, he had to start up the equipment to cut it for us. The parking lot can be busy but I just choose to park farther away from the door. Also, try to go during an off hour--the veggie section (and the store in general) can get crowded. I suggest stopping by the deli section at the front of the store to see what treats are available. Last time I tried a tasty steamed cake wrapped in banana leaf. Another tip is to jump on specials as soon as you see them. I'm still kicking myself for not picking up an entire pack of oxtails for 1.99 a pound. I went back a few days later and they were gone. I still bought oxtails, for up to $2.00 less a pound than other stores. Lastly, double check the expiration dates on prepackaged foods. Every once and a while you'll find one that is past it's prime.
