I quickly found the toiletries I needed then headed to scope out the post-Christmas clearance items. Fortunately, I was able to find some holiday cards (I belong to a book swap group and we send tons of cards to members each holiday season) that were cute and half price. The employee who greeted me as I came into the store was ringing up another customer's items when I finished shopping so I moved to the self check out. It was easy and quick. I've never filled a prescription here so I can't say how that side of the business works but I found personal care items I needed quickly and was on my way home faster than I expected.

I handed it to the pharmacist and told them I would be back the next day to pick it up. When the website stated it was ready for pickup, they only filled two out of the three medications. When I asked where one of the prescriptions went, they said I only handed them two the day before. Knowing what I gave them, I demanded to see a copy of their records. Since I didn't have the actual script anymore, they played dumb and stupid. The pharmacist said she would investigate what happened and call me at home. Sure enough, later that day, they called and denied all responsibility for losing my prescription. They said I probably misplaced the bottle. Um, I didn't receive my medication yet, how I can misplace something I don't even have? Seeing as how I was completely out, I had to make an emergency appointment with my primary doc. He wrote me another prescription but this time with no refills since it was a controlled substance. I made a copy of it and went to a different CVS Pharmacy. I called their corporate headquarters, gave them the store number, and told them about the incident. They said they would review the security cam footage as proof that I had three total prescriptions in my hand when handing it to the pharmacist. They also stated they would contact the CVS off of Gun Club and investigate the situation. Guess what? The footage mysteriously disappeared (or so I was told). Now I had absolutely no proof of ever giving them something I need to take on a daily basis. Come to find out, the pharmacist at the time was using fake credentials! She was never a real one to begin with. For one month, she was taking narcotics, filling bottles for herself, then selling it based off of street value. This is not the only time she has done this. Apparently, she did the same in several other states until finally being caught elsewhere. That was it for me and CVS. I transferred whatever I had left with them to Walgreens and couldn't be happier. CVS used to force that darn auto refill on me when I didn't have anything that needed to be renewed. Very annoying. Good riddance. They stopped accepting my insurance in 2017 anyhow.

CVS is significantly overpriced--literally $2-$3 more per item compared to other stores. I assume the markup helps cover rent for the space, because it certainly doesn't seem to be going back into staff support or improved customer experience. I only shop here when I absolutely need something and can't wait to buy it somewhere cheaper. It's convenient, yes--but beyond convenience, it lacks appeal and value.

Friendly competence!…read more What more would you want from a pharmacy? I've been a customer since moving to downtown WPB 7 years ago. I really appreciate the friendliness of the two pharmacists and the time they spend helping to make sure the medications are right for me. Other staff members are friendly and the pharmacy also provides delivery! The pharmacy has a small retail store and some products are pricey - you can probably get better prices elsewhere but in my experience you will not find the friendly competence of pharmacists elsewhere.

Yesterday I was released from Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center after undergoing major open-heart surgery for aortic valve replacement caused by bicuspid aortic valve stenosis. The hospital sent NINE critical prescriptions to this Walgreens location before my discharge so I could begin recovery safely at home. When I arrived almost 20 hours later to pick them up, I was informed only ONE prescription was ready. The other EIGHT had not been filled because they "had to order them." Nobody called me. Nobody warned me. Nobody attempted to transfer the prescriptions to another pharmacy. Nobody seemed to care that I had just come home from heart surgery and medically depended on these medications. After a major cardiac operation, medications are not optional. Delays can affect pain control, blood pressure, heart rhythm stability, inflammation, clot prevention, and overall recovery. The stress this caused me during the first full day home from open-heart surgery was unbelievable. What angers me most is the complete lack of urgency and compassion. A responsible pharmacy would have contacted me immediately, searched nearby locations, transferred prescriptions, or found some emergency solution for a recovering cardiac patient. Instead, I was left standing there being told eight medications were unavailable as if it were no big deal. This pharmacy showed absolutely no concern for patient care, communication, or basic professionalism. For anyone with serious medical needs, especially post-surgical patients, I strongly recommend thinking twice before trusting this Walgreens location with your health.

I got hit over the head with overt rudeness as this main cashier said I had too much stuff & that I had to move to the back cash register. I did so as her bad attitude could not rob me of my usual joie de vivre. Of course, like any shopper would, I immediately informed the manager, Manny, of this employees poor treatment & plenty of attitude. He owned it. I said I could have walked out but didn't want to leave all the merch & re-pick it out somewhere else.... I did get some Walgreens points for my shabby interlude with this worker. What is wrong with people these days?

She waited in line at the pharmacy while I passed time browsing around the store. The associate at the pharmacy counter never made eye contact or verbally acknowledged my mom or the gentleman in line behind her. (There was only 1 person in front of my mom) Finally, after about 20 minutes, the pharmacy associate asks my mom what she's picking up. Turns out, there was a problem with my mom's prescription. No refills tonight! I understand there was a problem but CVS said her prescription would be ready when we came to pick it up. Why couldn't someone call and notify my mom there was a problem? Wasted time and energy, plus we had to make a second trip to CVS to pick up prescriptions that were supposed to be ready. I'm going to suggest that my mom try another pharmacy, even another nearby CVS, but she is a creature of habit, so wish me luck with that!
