The shelves are half empty and the store is a mess. It's worth the few minutes drive to go to the nearby Publix, where the pharmacy actually functions, what you need will likely be on hand, and the people working there seem to at least care if you're in the room.

The owner, Darden, also owns…read moreStar Market grocery store that is directly across the street on Pratt, and a Star Market Grocery and (I could be wrong) also a Propst Drugs in Meridianville, AL, and is affiliated with Hunnington Pharmacy in SE Huntsville. Now that the history lesson is out of the way, I have to say this Propst is a nice addition to Five Points. When I lived nearby on Ward, Propst Drugs was very convenient as it was open seven days a week, and I liked you could pick up over-the-counter items there, and Propst offered the convenience of an in-house post office counter. Darden, the pharmacist at the time, was very knowledgeable and helpful. I never considered it a "discount" pharmacy/drugstore; however, that may be an artifact from its name when it opened in the 1950s. I like that the business model has changed over the years, with the initiation of a "walk in clinic" here, I think around 2010, and the consolidation of the durable medical equipment at this location (which was formerly on Governers Drive). I can't comment to the walk-in clinic or the durable medical equipment since I have not used either. The convenience to both Star Market grocery (which has an in-store pharmacy) and the Propst Drug Store are huge assets to those living in Five Points. Most residents can walk to both stores and even dine at 1892 East across the street. Thank you, Darden, for keeping Huntsville's "Heritage" alive!

She leaned against me and slid her items into the end of mine all the time talking to me & the cashier?? I wondered why my bill was so much higher but I had my granddaughters with me, and was distracted by this woman and wanted to go home. Next morning I checked my receipt & she had slid over $30.00 worth of items onto the tale end of my check out!!!!!!! When I went to the store and explained they said the person to check that, including the camera footage didn't come in until 3 hours from then. Took my receipt bro & my name & number. 3 hours later I went to the store and met the person in charge who said that after reviewing the tape since I was talking to the lady it looked like I had "gifted" this stranger????? I did not, and she made it clear that she did NOT believe me!!!! She very sourly agreed to refund me after I protested & was not leaving. Shame on you, Angela!!!!! I am elderly and still hav to work part time to survive. I am still angry enough to find a way to complain about YOU personally. Been going to same location for over 30 years, at least twice a week. The entrance closest to the garden center did not have wipes to clean the shopping cart handle. As we walk in I notice two Walmart employees blocking an aisle to prevent access. That seemed odd. We walked over to where the eye drops are located. I was surprised to see the shelves were not fully stocked. Hubs picked out his drops and we were off to the food section. I notice Walmart is slowly removing name brand goods and stocking their store bran, Great Value, more often. I will remind myself to buy French mustard elsewhere. This Walmart used to sell it. The pasta I used to buy here also has to be purchased at a different store. The produce wasn't as fresh as I would like so I only bought a few things. The frozen vegetables were stocked and I did pick up a few packages I needed. Overall going to this store to shop for food would be a deal breaker. If I needed home goods or kitchen small appliances I would come back.

Put the label on the plastic bag and drop it off. I never look for FedEx so I had no clue where a FedEx store is. Google FedEx and lots of hits pop up. I was looking for a store so I could make sure I was affixing the label correctly and closing up the plastic mailer. Simple right? Several google hits were at Walgreens. I called the South Memorial Parkway Walgreens and Nettie answered the phone. I asked about FedEx and she said there was a drop off at her store and if I had a box and a label she could help me. Box, I had a plastic mailer. I didn't put the label on nor did I seal the envelope. I thought I would let someone who was familiar with the packaging guide me. When I arrived, Nettie smiled big recognizing she had just spoken with me. I gave her the label and plastic mailer and within a few minutes she had me hooked up for automated text updates, placed my label inside a plastic cover that she affixed to my plastic mailer and closed up my mailer. I was in and out in a flash which I greatly appreciated as I was about to be late for a termite inspection. Many many thanks to Nettie for her invaluable help. Many thanks to Walgreens for hiring a sweet young lady who was smiling and helping customers. I had to wait my turn and she cheerfully waited on other customers.
