I love going to Costco. There are many items circulating in and out through the year. Their prices are great and it makes sense to buy items we use regularly in a larger quantity. The Heinz beans from the UK are being sold for a limited time. I purchased extra the last time I went. I was paying about $5 a can at Publix. I The other find I saw was leaf kimchi. This is gold. It tastes like your Umma made it. The regular kimchi Costco sells is sliced. I am used to slicing the fermented Napa cabbages each time versus opening a container and having pieces. This new green leaf kimchi has a great flavor. After it was opened, it started to sour which is normal. I made fried rice with it and it was great. The kimchi needs to really sour before I can make soondubu jigae. Yum! My wife and I have been Costco members for 30 years. We would not have stayed customers for so long if we had complaints about the store itself. The Huntsville store is great and the vast majority of the people that work there are helpful, with the exception of one manager by the name of Stanley. The most rude, entitled person I've ever had to deal with at any business. As long time executive members, we spend about $1000 a month at Costco and this clown accused us of trying to steal from his store. My wife needed to buy a new piece of luggage due to a unexpected business trip the very next day. Turns out her existing luggage was too big per the new airline rules. When we got to the store, there was only one piece of luggage left to buy. The box was open and it had obviously been returned by someone and put back on the shelf. We pulled it out of the box to check it and saw obvious scratches and scuffs on the luggage surface and wheels. We didn't think we should pay full price for already used and somewhat damaged goods so we asked for a manager. After several minutes of waiting, we got Stanley. We showed Stanley the damage and asked if he could take something off of the price. Stanley then laughed at us, and completely out of nowhere, accused us of damaging the product ourselves so we could get a discount. We tried to convince Stanley otherwise but he was not having it while continuing to accuse us of what could be considered criminal activity. Dumbfounded and livid at this point, we debated about what to do and ultimately we chose to buy it at full price as we needed it for early the next morning. We were treated like criminals which is something we have never felt at Costco. Stanley happened to be at the exit as the person checked our receipt. He looked right at us and laughed at us as we walked out of the store. I called a different manager the next day, explained what happened, and he refunded us half of the price we paid. We weren't even asking for half but this guy was a real manager, apologized for Stanley, and fixed the problem for us. Regardless, we are still livid about the whole situation. Stanley needs to be let go immediately. He's completely unprofessional and is a liability to your location. read more

I want to highlight about my experience during an emergency this Sunday at Costco tires We had an emergency: our tires were ripped on our way to drop my wife off for a marathon at 6:00 a.m. We somehow changed to the spares and frantically booked an appointment nearby. The earliest available was at 11:30 a.m. Hoping against hope, we went to see if we could get an earlier appointment at around 9.30 AM. This is when we met Rob, who was godsent. He was beyond amazing in understanding our problem and helping us through this. At 9.30 am, he not only checked for our tires in the inventory but also moved our appointment to 10 AM and made sure that it was properly aligned and ready for the trip. We also made it back on time to see my wife cross the finish line :) Once again, thanks to Rob and the team's amazing service. We are beyond happy and thankful for their service. Pros: you can get a hotdog and drink combo for $1.50 while you wait to be poorly served Cons: ohhh so many where to start... it all started when I purchased my first set of Costco tires thinking it would be great. I was so very wrong.. get your tires rotated every 5,000 miles (wrong only if they don't turn you away and tell you you're going to have to get an appointment and they're two weeks out) get your tires repaired... wrong (9/10 we're sorry can't repair it you're just going to have to pay for a new replacement) the most recent visit tires shown wear time to replace after only two years... wrong sorry but the wear pattern isn't to our liking we will have to charge you for a whole new set... umm no you won't I'm done with you all and my only advice to you is stay far away... very far away. read more

Yesterday I went to costco and scanned my membership just like everyone else, yet I was stopped by the woman at the check in to ask if I was truly a member. I'm not one to point a finger and claim profiling until this experience. Everyone infront of me was white whereas I am not. I continued on with my shopping, but I noticed everywhere I went, I was being followed by the same costco worker. I needed to get new tires for my car. I shopped around for the best price was at Costco. I had to order them and when they came in I set up an early morning appointment to install them. I'd say my experience is more of a 4-4.5 star but considering the unfair ratings due to covid policies I'm giving them 5, since I haven't had any problems at this location. As of right now (Sep 21), there's no enforcement of mask policies unfortunately but that's a local problem and not to do with Costco. In general this location seems to hold a good service standard, they keep decent stock of products, and even have a small liquor store. read more

I go to this Costco a few times a month and I'm never disappointed. I don't know how they always keep things so tidy when hundreds of people visit a day! This particular day the cashier told me the door number was 400 people! A bigger turn out than Christmas they said! I find that they often have good samples which I love because I may not have taken a chance on that product before sampling it. Sometimes they run out of things as all stores do but it delights me that they also change things up and put out new products. Even with a packed store every employee I encountered seemed to be in a good mood. If you have a lot of things you can ask the person at the door for a "loader" then leave your cart and bring your vehicle around to the front of the store and they will put everything in your vehicle for you! read more

It has been nearly a year since Tommy and I had our new HVAC unit installed, to the tune of nearly $13k. Costco, whom we purchased it through, was offering a promotion. We were supposed to get a gift card in a certain amount for buying through them. It was to come 2-6 weeks after the install. Almost a year later, and after three different phone calls to Customer Service, and I STILL have no clue if the matter has even been settled. It's been nearly three months since they last told me I needed to sign a form, which I did through Docusign, and again, still no word on the progress, so I called yet again today. Had to go through ALL THE SAME QUESTIONS (order #, date of service, etc, etc, etc) I had to answer my last two calls, only to find out NOTHING definitive. I have never seen a company with more inept Customer Service in my life. The Customer Service rep can only tell me, "IF it has been settled, it can take two to four MONTHS for you to now receive the gift card." I am so over Costco it isn't even funny. We have Sam's and BJ's both within the same distance as Costco. From now on, I will only do business with them. I had used them extensively when trying to buy stuff for our Club COnnect project. Never again. Any business that makes the customer have to jump through hoops to get what they were supposed to get is not a business I can trust or care to business with. The bottle was much larger than the regular brand and cost less. I asked the person at the front desk what happens if I don't like it. He told me the liquor department was not like the main store and once you open the bottle it was yours. No returns. So I bought and paid for the regular brand and paid the higher price. read more

Costco is truly doing the best they can to keep their customers calm and safe whike shopping. They've done away with taste/food samples which will help cut down on transmission of any illness. They have also instituted a limit of 2 or 3 on certain items such as toilet paper, soap, paper towels, milk, bottled water, etc. The lines are long, but this is no fault of Costco. They have hand sanitizer out in the store and sanitary wipes for the carts. My family and I managed to get everything we needed (not panicked pandemic shopping, just normal groceries) despite the restrictions and mass panic pictured in my photo. I love Costco - it's truly the best place to get the most bang for your buck. They always have fresh fruit, vegetables, berries. The meat section is really great - a lot of well priced options. I like to make one trip every month or other month to get all the essentials. It does get busy - of course especially on weekends, but if you have the opportunity to come on weekdays it's usually pretty calm. The lines are efficient and even on a busy day you don't really have to wait that long. The gas is the other winning feature here. At such a discount it's really worth the wait, and yea you will be waiting behind several cars for your turn. Finally, the liquor part of this location - great place to get the basics. Really affordable, and the Kirkland brand name stuff tastes great! read more

Came here to get roses and a few other items for my moms upcoming 80th Birthday party! This place is packed! More then any other Costco I've been to. Parking is horrible. I parked 3 miles away and walked for hours to reach my destination. (Joking, I parked close). I've gone/been to a Costco in about 5 states. They offer some of the same items we get in my home state of Texas. Costco also had items that are probably better suited to this area. I'm guessing they do demographic studies. They are consistent for sure! Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. I bought all my moms roses here prior to her birthday on Valentine's Day with the Costco app. I did all the arrangements of the roses for my moms party. I bought baby breath and additional greenery to make these arrangements pop!! The roses are top notch and way nicer/fuller and cheaper then grocery store flowers! They have lots of staff to assist. Really happy with my purchase. I got 96 roses for 120$. The additional greenery and baby breath was another 40$. Only thing I dislike is that Costco won't honor Master Card. Not sure why that is. I have an executive membership at Costco. It's $120 a year to shop here for me. (Membership for more then 13 years) I think at the end of the year they will have to buy my membership back. I won't spend what it cost to have an exclusive membership. It's either cash or check since they won't honor a Master Card. With my Master Card I have more freedom with spending. With cash/check I'm limited on my ability to spend for a transaction. Since It requires cash in hand. Huge cut back for me. I already avoid shopping here because of the MC issue and now I need a check book or cash. What a pain in the butt at check-out. I hate the way Costco is operating for payment. Costco. Typically, always excellent. Except for the girl with green hair who shouted "sir" three times to stop me to check my card before I entered the self-serve checkout. I had glanced at the other lady standing there to let her know I was going to the kiosk, then to her. The green haired girl tracked me down in ten feet and wasn't having me cross some imaginary line before I displayed my card. After the third, SIR, I told her she didn't have to be rude after she was so close to me. She asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. Since she asked, I said yes. The "manager" arrived, another young girl, who immediately told me, "I am not going to let anyone be rude to my employees." No greeting, no help, no open questions. I asked her to get her manager. This was getting out of hand. I am at the self-checkout still. The manager arrived. I explained that the girl was rude and what happened, then I said the manager was threatening and rude as well. He said he would look at the video. He was cordial, and we ended it. I checked out, fumed for a minute while checking out, then asked to see him, the manager, again. He came out, and we talked, and he had a better understanding. I said, who needs this? I shouldn't be here having to speak with you. I want to be relatively invisible. Hello, how are you, I am fine. Have a nice day. Goodbye ~ and that's it. Obviously, I am still fuming because I am writing on the www where this will go into oblivion. Ruined my night, drive home, and dinner. Why? Why did they feel they had to be confrontational, insulting, and intimidating? I'll do whatever they wish, and if I don't, I can choose not to be there. Except, I have been there, and I do what they want and need to be done. It's their "house." This makes me question myself that somehow I sparked this? I didn't. This shouldn't make me feel this way (only momentarily). Maybe I should have just accepted it, grit my teeth, and moved on? No. However, I don't want to be, nor am I going to accept being threatened, or assaulted (in any way) by something so trivial and inane. They always have cheap prices. But there is a down side of having to pay for a membership. But because of that the prices are always low. Which after a bit the membership pays for itself. The service is great. You can ask anybody there and they can tell you where the littles things are. The atmosphere is just like being in a wear house. This review is for their tire center. I had tires sent to this Costco location. When my daughter showed up for the appointment, the tire employee argued with her that the tires weren't there, believing the tires were sent to another location. Later, another employee was able to find the tires. So 10 days later, my daughter shows up to my house and the left front tire looks low. So I check the tires pressures: 35,35,35 and 20 psi. So I check for leaks in the low tire- none found. I take the car to another Costco location- no leak found. So the Huntsville location sent my daughter out on a nearly flat tire! You can get clothing like ; Puma, Tommy Hilfiger, Eddie Bauer, Levi's, 32 Degrees, William Rast, Sanctuary, Champion, Adidas, Nautica, Weatherproof Vintage, Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole, Leota (their dresses typically sell for over $100, however from Costco it's just $27.99), Gloria Vanderbilt (their jeans usually run $24.99 at other stores, and are only $16.99 at Costco), NYDJ (if bought elsewhere be prepared to pay $100.00 or even more elsewhere, Costco has them for $24.99). The wine selection is out of this world, along with prepared place in the oven meals made in the deli, for those very long days and when you need something quick but healthier than fast food meals. The staff is always nice and professional. The bathrooms are always clean. You never know that you'll find at Costco, from beautiful Jewelry, huge TVs that make what you are watching look real life like you could reach in and grab the food off of the plate in the cooking channel. Walked in without an appointment, one of my hearing aids was not working. I brought every bit of documentation I could, Caroline asked for my hearing aids and my name only , looked at my phone app and said thanks have a seat or go shopping. Came back ten minutes later , essentially she had replaced 40% of the hearing aid. Now working perfectly. All of this on top of thousands of dollars of savings from initial purchase. Let me start off my saying that I am one of the most easy-going people and get along with everyone. I have never been so mad after I left an establishment in my life. I bought 4 Michelin tires for my Infiniti QX80 back in like May or June of this year, from Costco with all the of warranty stuff. That vehicle is my weekend car so I do not drive it near as much as my weekday vehicle. Saturday of this last week I ran over something and when I got home I noticed that I could hear air coming out of my tire and by Sunday morning it was flat. My husband took it off and we brought it to the tire center after Church on Sunday to get repaired. The nice gentleman told me that it would probably be the next day before they could get to it, which I said was perfectly fine and to just let me know when they were done with it. Monday, while at work, I had not heard from anyone by about 2pm so I decided to call and check on it, as I could leave work and go pick it up around 3. The gentleman told me that "oh yes, it is fixed and all you need to do is come in and sign some paperwork and you will be set". I left work and got to Costco around 3:15 or so. When I walked in the tire center, there was no one in there except another customer waiting that had not been helped yet. Another gentleman walked in after me and all three of us waited for quite a while before someone came to the front, which was no big deal really, but there should always be someone up there to at least greet customers and assist them. Once the employee came up there, he assisted the lady in front of me and never thanked her, smiled, or anything. I say this to say that he is not a pleasant person to "greet" or "assist" customers directly. I walked up after she was done and his comment to me was "what do you need"..... I told him that I was there to pick up my tire for my Infiniti QX80 that was dropped off the day before. He looked up at me and said "well I am going to have to go in the back and get your paperwork" and turns and walks off. He comes back a few minutes later and does something on the computer and blurts out "that will be $79 and you can run your card down here now"...... I, very confused said why am I paying for it if it is under warranty... He responds with "well ma'am, we do not give out free tires." I again, very confused said why am I paying $79 for a tire repair when I have a warranty on it... (I was never told that they had to replace the tire). So he rudely tells me that they had to replace the tire. My comment to that was ok, first off I was not told that or called to inform me of that before they did it. I paid the $79 dollars at this time. He then pulls out a piece of paper and holds it up and says "every time you bring your car in here to be serviced you get handed this piece of paper that clearly explains our process of the warranty on the tires" and then looks at me and says "If you need help reading it, I can read it to you." At this point I am furious, as I have never been talked to like that in my entire life. I have 3 college degrees and right now manage 3 different therapy clinics here in Huntsville. I also was wearing scrubs so it is clear that I at least have a job and obviously can read... I, not so kindly told him to give me my damn ticket. He states that another person has to come up to put the key in the machine to print the receipt on the ticket. I again tried to explain that I did not have a problem paying for the tire but I was not told that there was going to be another tire put on my rim instead of it getting repaired. He then states "well I can just tell them to put the old tire back on it then". Now mind you, I have already paid for it and asked for my ticket. I did not comment after that and he slid my ticket across the counter and I walked out. I took the ticket to the bay and a very nice man rolled my tire out to my car. As he was doing that, I expressed that it is a shame that the man at the front, that deals with customers is about to cost them several customers and that I would never be returning to Costco for anything again. Granted I know that with this store being as popular as it is, my money does not matter, but my point is that if he is going to talk to me that way, no telling how many customers he has been rude to and how many customers will never return due to that. read more
