I don't normally spend two and a half hours in a Queens CVS, but when I do I get vaccinated. Mine was an atypical experience at CVS for sure, but perhaps you are also thinking about coming here for a vaccine (or otherwise), and I figured I'd let you benefit from my experience. If you're headed here because this was the only place you could get a shot scheduled, I would recommend: 1. Being on time. Don't be early, like I was, because you're going to wait a very long time and your prompt arrival does not change that. They will actually tell you to come back when your appointment is. And then tell you to come back after your appointment. And then make you wait for 2+ hours. But if you're on time, it's their fault, not yours, so at least you can claim some sort of moral high ground as you angrily stand in the cosmetics aisle for hours. 2. Wearing comfortable shoes. If you decide to do your toiletry shopping while you wait, please be aware that by law,* this CVS is required to be out of anything you actually wanted. The glacial vaccine process may not have been their fault, but this was adding insult to injury. ______________ *I actually don't think it's a real law. But government can certainly be stupid, so you never know.

Shut the front door, the side door and the back door. Turn out the lights and hide in the closet with these cookies. Good god they are good. I had tried a different version of the Gold Emblem/CVS brand cookie before and was not a fan, but a little birdy told me that the cookies are new and improved and to give them another try. So I am now a fan. The bottom part of the cookie has a shortbread taste, then you get a layer of caramel, not huge amount but just enough. Then they top it with milk chocolate. There are 18 decadent cookies in a box for $4.19 (not on sale) which is a bit pricey for me, but its one b of those days and it was cookie timeout for me. So this review is totally about the Gold Emblem caramel filled truffle cookie. Damn they are good.

I STILL loathe lazy drugstores that think self-checkout means the cashiers do nothing, except force people to use it.

A new head pharmacist treated me like a drug seeking when I initially went to renew my pain meds (I've been on for five years successfully). I saw the others there take her aside and vouch for me. I know some customers can be demanding but over time it's calmed down. Very sweet staff that does their best as they can. Workers at the store always say hello and ask how I'm doing. It truly is a neighborhood store.

When it was finally my turn, the employee became distracted by a colleague and proceeded to ignore me entirely while they focused on a phone. This lack of attention was unprofessional and disrespectful. When she eventually completed my transaction, she handled my items carelessly--scanning my purchase and then tossing it onto the counter without any regard. This level of service is unacceptable. Customers should not be ignored, dismissed, or treated with such disregard. I expect basic professionalism, attentiveness, and respect when making a purchase. This incident should be reviewed and addressed immediately to ensure this type of behavior does not continue.

The store is small but feels very roomy with the layout, floor to ceiling glass front and their quintessential LED hexagon honeycomb light fixture. They have beauty and skin care products, kitchen supplies, snacks, ramen, candies, sodas, desserts, frozen and prepackaged food. My favorite is prepackaged food area with fruit sandos, cream rolls, onigiri and rolls. And most items are reasonable priced. I finally got to stop by since they opened last week and got a lot of snacks (almost $70 worth). Some of the items I got were ube ice cream, Pocky sticks in various flavors, shrimp chips, taro chips, wafer sticks, fruit sandos, and chocolate ream rolls. The next day I ate one of the Strawberry Sandos at work. It still tasted so fresh, and the strawberries were huge! Loved that the cream wasn't too sweet. I have to say that Teso Mini has a really good selection of Asian snacks. And it's so fun perusing their aisles. So glad they opened a location in this neck of the woods.
