This is a review of the Walgreens Pharmacy. Have been here several times and picking up medications for family members. The pharmacy staff is amazing. In this day and age when there are so many medications available it can be very confusing on what to take and when. Half the time going to the doctors is like an all day event. By the time one leaves the office with several script, one does not recalling which is for what and how often to take. Jenny, the pharmacy tech was so helpful with reading the handwriting of the doctor on the scripts. Described where the cough medication can be found on the shelves. As for the other two scripts she checked for us what it was and even the cost/coverage. Had questions on dosage and what medications was for. The pharmacist, Song was a wealth of knowledge and called the doctor's office regarding one of the script. There are many drugstores that are so busy they just fill the scripts, call your name and ring you up. Not at this Walgreens. I feel comfortable every time I bring in scripts from the doctor's office that I will be informed about the medications and how to take them. My family is in good hands. read more

Yet again, disappointed. I make a photo order, gets an email that my order should be ready by 7:30PM goes by. Okay cool. 7:30 goes by, I don't hear anything. I wait until 8:30PM to finally call and see whats up. I doubt this is this Walgreens fault directly as much as it is an issue with their automated emails, but you should not put the general customer service number in the spot where we're suppose to know the status of our order. They can only go by what's going on through a screen, as can I. Wasted time trying to get information for something I could have just seen myself. So I then finally directly contact the store. The clerk then over the phone says "oh we were waiting for you to come in so we could print the order." ?????? Why are you waiting for me when you gave me an estimated time of when the order should be ready?? No, *I* was waiting for *YOU*. Also where does it say in the email that you can only start until after I arrive?? What is that?? I'm running on a crunch time with the school work I have to catch up on, and I wasted a whole lot of time wandering around not waiting to breathe over their shoulders over this order. But I guess I should have been! Also I said I would have been at the store in the next ten minutes. I get a notification that my order is done three minutes later. Yet some how within those seven other minutes, my order got misplaced. It took them another ten or so minutes to find something they just apparently printed out. Idk if it's the lack of care of the staff or the lack of staff in general that are overworked but second time now experiencing this service and I am unimpressed. Don't go to this wallgreens store (82-77 Broadway Elmhurst, NY 11373). The worst store in queens. They are very very very rude to the customer. Notes for the women who work as a cashier today: If you have a bad day better don't go to work and stay at home than you bring your problem and being rude to the customer. read more

I don't agree about the bad reviews about this walgreens in Elmhurst on Broadway and that's not much on my part as I think bob Dylan, Metallica, are very very overrated. Come bad yelped reviewers, this walgreens is big. It's well stocked , it's clean. Stuff is easy to find, check out is quick and most important, whatever is on sale , it's available and not sold out. I got liquid detergent on sale for 1.99 each with no limit and scott paper towels and tissue was buy one and get 2nd one 50 percent off. I have no issue with this particular walgreens and I actually enjoyed roaming around looking for useful stuff. Walgreens in queens gets 4 stars on my YELP METER. read more

Have been waiting in the front of the photos pick up for the last 15 minutes. They did not tell me anything to wait or helped me to get my photos. One of the employees just passed me by without asking me for help or anything. And yes, I am writing this while standing in front of the counter; (still) waiting for then to help me. Very unpleasant service. Oh you know what? Their photo print machine is down and they do not put any announcement about it at all on the website! went there for about two years on a weekly basis to pick up my online orders. most of the times, it is fine, wait is between 2 mins (at night) to 10 mins. but sometimes it got really frustrated. for example, one time i lined up, the store manager Daniel told me if i got online order, i could go to any available counter without waiting on line, which make sense because the other Walgreens, which located @ 8420 Broadway got a counter for photo and online order only. But when i tried to go to the counter next time, a staff told me i should line up, i told her Daniel told me it is not necessary, then the staff asked Daniel, and Daniel denied that he said that. Why would i make this shit up? I have no problem lining up for 10 mins. I guess he just likes to say things depend on his mode for the day, as in he got double personalities. Overall he is fine, i don't have big problem with him. another time, someone mixed up my order, all they needed to do, is to exchange for the items i purchased and took the items I did not pay for back to the shelf. a female manager/ or a senior staff gave me a hard time. she alleged that the bar code did not match, she needed to find out who messed up the order, the price did not match, and she could not find the order blah blah blah. i just wanted the items i purchased, and i did not want anyone to take blame for it. we are human, it is ok to make mistake. i asked her if she wanted to take a look at my phone for my order, she raised her voice and said no, my husband stepped it to tell her to lower her voice. after 5 mins, she finally gave me the correct items, which were the exact same items i brought to the counter and told them to exchange, and she could not find my order from her list and had to look at my phone. whatever, this store is still ok to go to, most staffs are fine, couple are more knowledgeable than others ( the Asian/Hispanic looking guy with curling hair about 5'10 tall and big, and another Hispanic looking woman with brown hair about 5'4 tall, i think they work at night, and they are really know what to do and nice.) The store hire a security guard to make it safer (I really do not want to see any staff in there got hurt by homeless). got enough items, not a lot though, enough. enough lighting. i hope they can restock faster. read more

I come here to buy my detergent, toilet paper, and spices. The lines are never really long. There is a huge variety of food options here, especially for the single gal. There are tons of discount items usually hair products and random things. I also see clothing available for purchase. The staff is friendly and helpful also. read more

The employees at this store are all very nice, but Sana is the nicest and friendliest of all. She is always working quietly and helping the customers around the store. She is such a decent, pleasant person. Walgreens should be proud to have someone like her working for the company. read more

It's a nice location. I came twice and told that they can't scan the reward card numbers on the smartphones. It's absolutely ridiculous. Every other location can scan reward card numbers on smartphones. I gave three stars just to being nice. read more

This Walgreens is so bright and well lit. Everything g is so organized and they have a wide selection of neosporin for cuts scrapes and wounds. The neosporin also comes in other types and they have cortisol cream and even cream for psoriasis. They also have a hair dye on sale which is amazing! The front has a bunch of hand sanitizer which is super helpful living in the city. I like this walgreens even though it's further away from me and closes at 11pm they have a wide variety of drugstore essentials and needs! read more

The photo service here is awful. There was no one working at the station, and when I asked an employee for help, they couldn't find my photos despite having over 4 hours to print them. I was then passed from employee to employee, until someone was FINALLY able to assist me... or so I thought! She took FOREVER to look up my name and phone number, and then shook her head and said "No." When I asked her to clarify, she explained that the photos had not been printed, and asked me to wait. She then left. I thought she had gone somewhere to print the photos, but after waiting for over 15 minutes, I realized that she had disappeared, and that my photos would not be printed soon. I left the store, and came back 6 hours later. The employees then explained that the photo printing machine was broken, and asked me to come back tomorrow. My experience with the photo print service here was incomprehensible and infuriating-- if I ever order prints from Walgreens again, it won't be from this store. read more

Incredibly long lines. The line spanned across the store and disappeared around the corner when it hit the last aisle yet there was only ONE cash register opened, by a short woman whose ID read Beauty Consultant and she took her sweet old time (maybe because she doesn't have experience with the register). One guy finally came after 10 minutes to open a second register but he was approached by another staff member, probably manager, repetitively asking him "you're leaving Danielle?" and disapproving of him opening up the second register. Are you kidding me!? Why are you bothering him and not opening up a third one!? read more

Beyond my belief of all levels of horrible. There are no words to describe how terrible the customer service was. I came to accompany my grandma (who does not speak English) to do some bottle returns to which I mistakenly called them donations/recycling to which the girl (Asian brown skin with a hoodie and ponytail) snapped at me to correct me. She did not even attempt to call for help or make any attempt to help us as we waited in the bottle return section. When the person who appeared to be the manager (?) - big dark skinned lady - came up to the register, I observed that the person on the register was to call a specific person up to help us. On top of that, the person on the register refused to listen to the manager/other employee. Overall, no one was making an active effort to help me or my grandma. If subordinate employees refuse to listen to higher-ups, why work there? read more

This Walgreens isn't that bad. They usually have the soap and/or shampoo I need and lines, while sometimes long, move at a steady pace. The other Walgreens a few blocks away has more products, though and is open 24 hours. read more

On Christmas Day 2015 today, I purchased a $40 McDonald Gift Card from this Walgreens (which contained 4 - $10 gift cards inside the package). Went to Duane Reade shortly after, & saw McDonald individual gift cards that you could fill with $10 - $100 amount. I called Walgreens to ask if I was able to return the gift card I just bought 30mins ago, & the lady said yes I could. I purchased the individual McDonald gift card from Duane Reade. I went to Walgreens & the same lady I talked to on the phone, told me I couldn't return the gift card. She said that she thought what I meant was the regular birthday or Christmas Hallmark cards. This is why you shouldn't hire people who don't understand English. This lady is very irresponsible & showed poor customer service. Such a shame because the other associates are nice. This lady has cost me money. I will not return to Walgreens. read more

I'm guessing when people experience the "long lines", it's because it's most likely after 5. I'm usually there on Saturdays. It's not like the newer Walgreens out there, definitely not like the 24hr one down a few blocks, but no other Walgreens are home to probably the best looking cashiers, and the most reliable worker there I"ve come to know, a Mr. Johnny Cortes. He's help my daughter and I out a few times already, and he's made me comfortable enough to not feel embarrassed to come to him for help. He even gave me his personnel schedule. I've known other employees there for more than 10 years now, like Maryann and Cora, both from the cosmetics department. When I venture there in the evenings, yes, I'll admit, it is crowded...like black friday crowd. But then again, that's just a sign that customers go here by choice! Because, they can simply go to the other one two blocks over. At most, 2 to 3 registers are open when this happens, but I know to do my shopping at the pharmacy area, it's less crowded. And, cough, the reason they make announcements that there is another register open...it's to free up the line....if anything,...it's the people who refuse to hear it, or pay no mind to it. You get 4 out 5 Walgreens...mostly because of the service provided by your staff, if you get a remodel...you'll get my full 5! read more

Very very rude people working there. I went the to purchase an item and there was only 1 left. I asked if they had more and they didn't. I said ok and the guy proceeded to say "is it surprising for a store to be out of stock on an item". This was only the beginning of his rudeness. All I said was ok when they said no more stock. There is no reason at all for that comment. They don't even deserve 1 star. read more

The help try to handle things well, but the management (especially on weekends) do not really care. The bottom line is Walgreens does not want to hire enough help to handle the business. All of the Walgreens, CVS, Duane Reade's in Elmhurst, Woodside, and Jackson Heights is a disaster! This one specifically is probably one of the worse. Back in the day it was even more disgusting, after going through some interior renovations, the store looks a bit better, however the customer service and the people in here are just a hot mess. The pharmacy at this Walgreens is by far the worse one I've ever been to. They take forever to service you at their counter and the wait time is always really long. Let's not forget the row of homeless folks who loiter right outside of the entrance/exit. Growing up in this neighborhood, there were always a few everyday bums I would see along Broadway and Grand Ave, 20 years later, the homeless epidemic has sky rocketed in Elmhurst. Everything about the exterior of this Walgreens has remained the same. Bunch of bums leaning on a really outdated building. There's also a taco truck that's parked directly in front of this Walgreens. You get the aroma of decent Mexican food, but you get smothered with the stank of those barefooted bums! read more
