I started coming here when Walgreens suffered a complete meltdown and became incapable of filling prescriptions. Fortunately CVS is really good with prescription and giving immunization shots. The downside to this CVS is that they are completely incompetent as a store. Half the time there isn't anyone at the register, you need a store card to checkout at their self-checkout (which they never gave me), and most of the time they don't honor the coupons given out by the pharmacy! Came here to pick up some floss and it's a really nice store. Parking lot is easy to get in and out of. Staff were proactively helpful. The self-service checkout was super annoying, but other than that, glad I stopped in. read more

The CVS pharmacy is the best one I've ever used. The team works together like a fine machine. They move in and out of the way of each other and pick up where the need is most. They opened after lunch and processed 8 patients in 20 minutes. Took 4 new prescription orders and had them out in 10 minutes. The store is clean and well maintained. read more

2 issues: 1. Usually long wait time because CVS inadequately staffs their pharmacies. 2. When I asked a question about one of my medications, the pharmacist, Albert Thieu repeatedly stumbled with my question, and obviously didn't know the answer. I finally said it sounds like you're unsure, so I'll look it up on the internet. Words like "probably" should not be used when it comes to explaining potential effect of a medication. read more

Calling all Haribo lovers! Yes, I know what you're thinking - Haribo and CVS . . . what? Okay, here is the thing - I love Haribo. I prefer the European versions, but those are hard to get unless you want to pay exorbitant prices to resellers on Amazon. Alright, enough of the protracted salvo--the CVS Lake Grove location has one of the best selections of Haribo's I have found in the Portland area--novelty Haribo, like the Harry Potter lineup, and standby favorites, like Starmix. It's a nice lineup of gummy perfection. I admit that a review that is solely based on one product line in a store, is not much of a review. But hear me out--I know other Haribo aficionados are out there. We are constantly on the lookout for caches. We need to spread the word when we find a depot. This CVS is large, light filled and well stocked but the overall design was not user friendly. There didn't seem to be a rational to how the footprint was arranged and I really had to search for items. I stopped in to pick up some protein bars, but the in store price was more than double the online price, so I did a catch and release. Grappled a few other items since I was there and was on my way. This pharmacy is always a disaster. But it's completely unacceptable to lie to customers. I went in to have a prescription refilled after having it transferred to another pharmacy previously during travel (which for some reason I couldn't do on the app, which is another disaster). The associate looked me in the eye, told me she had transferred it successfully and that it would be ready by 3:00. This same associate was incredibly rude to everyone in line ahead of me, including a frail little old lady. At 5:00, my husband went to pick it up. He was told by that associate snottily that he'd have to wait and it wasn't ready. It had, in fact, never been transferred, nobody knew anything about it, and the other CVS was already closed. Why couldn't they see how many were left on my Rx in their system, when I can see it in the app but not schedule a refill myself? Why do they have to call? Why can't I call and actually talk to a human being? We'd have to take even more time out of our day tomorrow to come back again. Why was lying necessary? This explains why every time I'm here, it's chaos and confusion. That same associate also came back from a break with their hands in their mouth chewing their nails, which is exactly what you want to see someone who handles the medication you put in YOUR mouth doing... Additionally, it's a crapshoot whether they have meds in stock. I take ADHD meds (that are critical as a working professional), and I can't get them refilled until I've actually run out. I was told when they were out of stock that I can only transfer to another CVS (that had it in stock) once, but that there is no way to ensure that they're in stock in the future. So, the customer gets punished for their poor planning. The pharmacists here are good, but their systems and their associates are awful. I understand that CVS has a captive audience so screw the customer, but come on. read more

Initial refills take over 8 hours for the CVS computing system to process, causing unnecessary delays and forcing you to get paper scripts from your doctor for anything you want the same day. Auto-refills stop mysteriously and without any notice. Prescription refills do not happen, and if they are filled or rejected, you do not reliably get notified. You can't call and talk to a pharmacist, but are required to leave a voicemail which they claim will be answered within an hour but which is never returned. The pharmacy staff works their tails off but are clearly understaffed and burned out. Other than reliably filling prescriptions, communicating, and providing customer service, this place is GREAT! Prescriptions are hardly ready on time. They'll tell you 20 min and then three hours later tell you that they still haven't mixed it. Meanwhile, you have a sick child needing his first dose of antibiotics. Go up the road to Rite Aid. read more

I tried to get in touch with the pharmacy multiple times (calling twice, leaving message, sending a message through the app) because our prescription was sent here by a different pharmacy without my knowledge. Our insurance isn't in-network and I wasn't going to pay $200+ when I can get it covered elsewhere. I asked a different pharmacy to request it be transferred. They put in a request and a week later called and waited on hold for 45 minutes. Ultimately I had to have the doctor send the prescription again to a different pharmacy. Don't waste your time with such poor service. read more

Staff a CVS do not understand how their computer system works. I was told that their system does not allow more than one insurance to cover a prescription . So I had to pay for a prescription when my insurance and my wife's would have eliminated the co-pay. Their corporate office confirmed they can bill two policies. I used to get my Rx's filled at another pharmacy located within a popular grocery store chain for convenience (one-stop shopping), but it has turned into a nightmare in recent years (long wait times, medications often out of stock when needed the most, rude pharmacy clerks, no one ever available to answer the phone when you call, etc.). Enter CVS... Came here for the first time a few months ago out of sheer necessity because my usual pharmacy could not fill a Rx that I badly needed for at least several more days, even though I was very sick. CVS not only had the medication in stock, but was able to have it ready for pickup in less than an hour. I have since learned that this was not just a one-off, but rather my usual experience whenever I come in. I hate to spill the beans, because I feel like this pharmacy is my own personal "hidden gem" in Lake Oswego, tucked away in the corner just for me whenever the need should arise. So I almost don't want to blow their cover. But alas. they are genuinely too good at what they do not to give them a fair shout out. Lovely pharmacists who are not only helpful but actually smile and say hello, hardly ever a line when I've gone by to pick up a Rx (and even then, I've never waited for more than a couple of mins tops), always a live person available to answer the phone when I call, and most medications I've needed have been in stock and filled and ready for pickup within the same hour they are called in by the prescriber. So at a time when going to the pharmacy is usually ranked up there by most people with getting a root canal or having a tooth pulled (btw, I also have a good dentist I can recommend if you actually need one), this CVS location gets a solid 5 out of 5 in my opinion! read more

This CVS is SO much better than the cramped Rite Aid down the street. They have a good selection of health related goods and the overall atmosphere is spacious and clean. The pharmacy is very good and they do immunizations as well. Head pharmacist Shazia Zafar is very pleasant. They will do legwork to find you discounts on drugs. read more

Twice now I've had this pharmacy fill the incorrect number of pills for an Rx. Example- the doc prescribes a medication with the following directions- take one pill twice a day for ten days. Then I get a bottle of ten pills. It's a major problem if the pharmacist or the techs can't do basic math. Once is a mistake. Twice is a medical liability. read more

CVS allowed for a vaccine appointment to be scheduled for a flu and COVID shot. When I arrived they said "we meant to call you but we don't have COVID vaccines nor do we accept providence insurance so the cost of the flu vaccine would be $68." Complete waste of time read more

CVS at Mercantile Village is low on service and knowledgeable employees and high in prices. The pharmacy is disorganized and sends out incorrect refill information. For a recent prescription it took 6 days to fill, pick up/ready time was when the pharmacy was closed and the following day the store did not open till 10. We were headed out on a trip and we're unable to wait. As I typed this a message came CVS saying I could pick it up now (9:20 am) but we were just there and store does not open till 10. Avoid this store and pharmacy. read more
