This pharmacy is awful. They've almost completely done away with cashiers at the front of the store, otherwise the store part is ok. The pharmacy has long been a disaster with long waits at both in store and the drive through. The drive through is no longer. There's a sign that tells you to go in instead. I went in one day and the line was almost 10 deep. The dead flowers for sale are the cherry on top. I've complained to corporate who resolved to fix the wait times, but it's actually gotten worse. So now I'm moving my prescriptions to mail order through my health insurance pharmacy. read more

I met an "angel" at your Maplewood CVS store today. Her name is "Hazera." This young lady was patient and kind throughout our telephone conversation regarding my medication prescription. Hazera went above and beyond her call of duty. At the end of the day, Hazera expedited my prescription order and had my medication ready within the hour. I could not wait to meet this angel, as I was in pain and used the last of my meds two days ago. I went inside the CVS and asked to speak with Hazera and her supervisor. The staff looked as if something was wrong. Once Hazera came from the front, I introduced myself from our telephone conversation; she knew who I was. She smiled as I did, and I then asked her for a hug. Hazera said yes, and we then hugged each other as I thanked her profusely for her compassion and empathy. I even attempted to give her $20 for her lunch, but she did not accept it. She said I can do the survey instead. This was my pleasure for Hazera to be recognized and praised for making the world a better place, especially today. May God bless CVS for hiring Hazera. read more

It's CVS, nothing overly exciting about it but for my job I get a lot of medications that are sometimes over shipped by the pharmacy we use or my clients just have old medications that need to be disposed of. This CVS features a medication disposal unit which is great. This way medication doesn't go into the trash and avoids privacy being an issue on the labels of packaging. I have to be a bit critical though with my starring here since on my latest drop off I spoke to one of the head pharmacists and noticed certain medications and related items aren't to be disposed of in the unit. That's fine but I would think they'd be a bit more knowledgeable about how to go about disposing of what cannot go in to it beyond just telling me what can't go in there. Yes I know that already as there is a label on the unit. Still the store itself is nice and retains it's new look well having been open for a few years now. read more

If I could give this pharmacy a zero I would. Service is slow and protocols are unclear. One week you can use the drive thru for meds, the next it's vaccines only. When I asked about it the manager confronted the pharmacist and the pharmacist rolled her eyes and spoke loudly about the signs being visible. Would give this pharmacy even less but this not an option. I spent an hour and a half on hold and finally spoke to a very unhelpful pharmacist or assistant. Apparently they had not received my prescription but no one really bothered to check and it till more than to weeks to have the "glitch" in their system. At the end of this ordeal they only filled 15 of the 30 days prescribed for " insurance" reasons - which my indurance was unaware of. Stuck with CVS and very unhappy. read more

They filled my prescription incorrectly. Dosage was two tablets a day equaling 60 tablets and only 30 were filled.

My local stop for all of my pharmacy needs. They have really stocked the shelves for the holidays with cool gifts & stocking stuffers. My personal favorites were the salt lamps & the diffusers with a great selection of essential oils. The store part is fine. The pharmacy is a horror. Their ineptitude has caused us incredible stress. We never know what kind of misinformation we're going to get -- up to and including them telling my husband, incorrectly, that he doesn't have insurance. When we moved, within the same town, that apparently freaked them out: three years later they still have two profiles for my husband with different addresses, and despite their assurances, this is still causing unbelievable problems. Don't ask me why a change of address was -- and still is -- such a challenge to them. But it is. The contradictory and just plain wrong information we get means that we frequently have to engage in lengthy discussions, try to get through by phone, go to the pharmacy extra times... and it's always about something they've done wrong. The uncertainty and the need to fix problems all the time is extremely stressful. In the most recent episode, my husband came within one day of getting a completely unnecessary blood test (yes, going to a lab, during a pandemic) because CVS told us that his insurance would no longer cover a medicine he's been taking for many years, and his doctor said we needed a blood test in order to fight the insurance company. It turned out to be a CVS screwup, involving their inability to understand which profile is the right one. Fortunately, I had a hunch that it was CVS's fault (generally a safe bet) and got them to correct it before the blood test happened. But the stress -- and the time involved (two trips to the pharmacy, waiting on the phone, talking on the phone, contacting the doctor, etc.) -- was considerable. The pharmacist told me today that he himself is new at the location and that they've been aware of problems and are doing some staff changes to mitigate the problems. That's good, but it's too little too late. Providing medications is a responsibility which needs to be taken seriously, so we will be looking elsewhere. read more

To busy. Not enough help. They have a monopoly on drugs and with plans you are stuck with them.

A zero would be more appropriate. They are absolutely awful. Always a long wait. Never get it right the first time.

The CVS store is fine and the manager is very helpful but the pharmacy is terrible. We went to the pharmacy for our appointments to receive two vaccines. As per our visit in November the information in the computer did not match the information that I input online prior to our appointment. We waited almost an hour before my husband asked if someone was going to help us. The pharmacist was on the telephone the entire time we were in the pharmacy without any regard to actual customers at the counter. Pharmacy techs were very busy filling orders. Only one person was sporadically tending to customers. The pharmacist was clearly overwhelmed(according to her) and not customer oriented. They were supposed to administer our vaccines but at this point we refused due to her lack of professionalism and our lack of trust. The store manager was very helpful in quelling a frustrating and tense situation. We will not be returning to this CVS pharmacy again. I hope for the sake of their customers, they hire someone who can professionally manage their pharmacy. read more

Called 4 times. On hold for an hour each time before giving up. Went in to see if the prescription was ready, was told they didn't have it in stock. Was told to wait in the drop off line to check other stores. Was told they now magically have it and then finally told they do not. They told me they transferred it to the west orange store. Show up in west orange and they tell me maplewood still has it on hold at their store and never transferred it over. Would give no stars if I could. read more

After hearing that this CVS has a history of giving people too few pills, I started checking mine after picking up prescriptions. Every time that I got pills that weren't in a sealed container, I got fewer than my prescription called for. I've since decided to switch. read more

I love this CVS location. It's as close to a Mom-and-pop shop feeling as you can get in a national chain. Every single time I walk in the door, someone greets me with a smile and offers to help me find something. It is always clean and well lit. And the pharmacy staff is outstanding - the pharmacists themselves and the tech/support staff. Special shout out of Veena who is consistently terrific and always thanks me on behalf of the earth :) for bringing my own re-usable shopping bag! read more

I tried to have a needed prescription delivered this morning. Paid $8 extra for two-hour delivery. It is almost 4 hours now and still not arrived. And when I called to see if I could just come pick it up, they gave me a run around. First they said it had already been handed over to the Post Office for delivery. Then put me on hold so I called back on another line and was told they were waiting for delivery person to start shift. Liars and incompetents. I won't go into the other occasion when they had me come in for a prescription that they then could not find. read more

New store, received bad service from Shift Supervisor Anthony. I will not be going to that location again. Its a shame because I work right right across the street. There is too much competition to receive bad service from anywhere. Thanks but no thanks I will spend my money elsewhere. read more

Everyone is so friendly!! The pharmacy is amazing. I had an expensive medication and they tried to get coupons to help defray the cost.

This CVS location really annoys me. Every single time I go there none of the associates ever tell me what coupons I have on my card. Ever. It is highly annoying. I don't have this problem with the CVS in Union. I think I'll just stick to the other location. read more
