Store #1602 is closing July 10, 2026!…read more I came here with the intent of obtaining printer cartridge. The building is a civil engineering and design oddity where the front faces a neighboring building located in the middle of a block and the backside faces customers who are coming from the MTA NYC Transit subway which can be easily missed. Low and behold the entrance facade affixed the store's closing signage was already a concern. This Staples location is a permanent closing. The male sales associate at the customer counter was nonchalant with head down and eyes glued to his cell phone rather than servicing customers. This same male associate's rebarbative behavior is one reason for my non-return visit. Why do you not put down your phone and service customers? Ergophobia? This store's lack of stock is very, very discouraging as the main reason is their impending store closing. This location is not a large as other Staples, but there is a small parking lot and accessible via MTA NYC Transit N and W train at Astoria Boulevard on Grand Central Parkway. As usual, no associate approached me if I needed assistance. This location carries high yield printer ink cartridge as available in stock at $51.16 which I have asked to search thoroughly, but the regular non-high yield was unavailable. I was unable to locate this product in my online search to price match since high yield ink cartridge is not a common product, therefore, absorbed the full price $51.16. Oh! I have travelled the long-haul trek from southwestern Queens via Manhattan to western Queens, Astoria and was in utter disbelief for the minimal products in stock of their inventory. I remember the 1990s era and early 2000s era where Staples were abundant and had heavy brick and mortar presence when paper and office supplies physically existed. This company had the budget to heavily advertise on TV and radio for many the Back-to-School seasons. In my youth of school days I would purchase two-pocket folders, notebooks (including spiral, black and white marble), journals, and pencils. In my adulthood of recent years, I would purchase copier paper, badge ID holder, printer ink cartridge, and sometimes pen refills, journals. Forward. In year 2026 this store #1602 is, unfortunately, becoming another victim causality of progress or evolution of digitalized/paperless. Total disappointment.

This location is open as of May/2026…read more I visited this Staples location in Astoria willing to check some office chairs but was very disappointed since they only had 7 assembled chairs in their showroom. Other Staples stores normally have at least 15-20 different chairs. The store itself is ok, offering the usual products offered in other Staples stores. There's a parking lot so parking is not an issue when visiting this location.

I have been going to this UPS store for ten years and until today they had always been fantastic…read more Not sure if it is a new employee, but I am blind, and today when I went in their email was down, and I needed to email them a document to print out. I was told that they have a self service kiosk but of course that is not accessible to someone who is blind. I asked the employee if he could help me, but he could not be bothered to get off his butt from behind the counter and just kept telling me to enter my credit card and follow the on screen commands. Dude do you not understand the concept of blindness? What is wrong with people these days? I guess from now on I will be a Kinkos guy.

This is the only UPS store in the area and as such, it is always incredibly packed. What's worse is…read morethe parking situation around here. This UPS is situated right in the middle of hectic Steinway Street, so there's never a spot, which leads to people (including me, sorry) to double park and run in with their 'too heavy to carry on foot' packages to return, which causes traffic. Despite the cluster that is this UPS store, the line moves quickly, all of my packages have made it to where they're going, and the Amazon return kiosks they've implemented here have cut down on some of the chaos. Value wise it's on par with shipping costs of any other UPS in the area. Service is efficient, not overly friendly but honestly the less chatting the better to get folks out the door and on their way.

If you're looking to ship alcohol with ease, look no further. The entrance is in the back. (I had…read morethought I was going the wrong way.) In December we had taken a trans Atlantic cruise that ended in New York (I live in California) and had bought lots of wine. (Couldn't be helped with destinations like Italy, France and Spain.) While I could have bought another suitcase to fly home (and pay for the extra luggage and over weight charges) it would mean a lot of hassle to pack it correctly for the trip and lots of running around to get the right packaging. Not to mention storing the extra luggage later. Between the cost of materials to pack it, the suitcase and the overweight charges (like I said, a lot of wine), it made more sense to take it to The Spirited Shipper. I had called to verify they could ship it (and figured if not I could buy the needed materials to pack it for the flight. They did ask how many bottles - I assume there is a limit or different rules if too much - the alcohol content, as there are rules for the % allowed per bottle shipped.). I packed it into my luggage and took a taxi over. They packed it up, quickly and carefully and shipped it out that day. Everything arrived in perfect condition and I didn't have to lug it to the airport and home. If I ever need to do this again from New York I will be back.

They actually specialize in mailing alcohol/spirits (hence their name) and their secret weapon in customer service is their absolutely adorable Bassett hound Sparky!! They've helped me through eBay mix-ups, care packages, and holiday gifts! Cannot recommend them enough. Stop by and bring a treat for Sparky!
