It's open 24 hours that is probably the best part about this CVS. You'll find what you need but I've had bad luck getting prescriptions filled here. Either long lines or their systems are down. Staff here is not friendly at all, not sure if it's because of the long hours they work. Made an appointment at the minute clinic for my son to get a vaccination needed for college. Showed up on time and there were signs all over saying the clinic was closed. No one was at the help desk so we stood in the long pharmacy line to ask for help. Turns out the clinic was open. We then waited awhile for someone to call us. Finally, the guy who administered the shot could not give us a record of the shot so we had to wait yet again in the line at the pharmacy. Useless Express Pickup Option I received a text message to let me know that my RX was ready for pickup and it gave me the option for the Express Pickup. Great! Or so I thought. Even though I chose that option and paid in advance, when I got to the pharmacy I still had to wait in the long regular check out line. When I asked the person at the register if maybe I missed the Express Pickup window she let me know that there is no Express Pickup window. Why have that option then, CVS? ‍ read more

This is one of the busiest CVS Parmacies in the area, and with that said, i have to say that all the staff behind the Pharmacy counter have so much patience and are very friendly and professional. Specifically, Hannah, the Pharmacy Tech. who on this paricular day, was working the drop off counter. Hannah had reached out to the insurance company, and stayed on the phone (even after being hung up on the forst time) for at least 30 mins. and after all that she was able to find a resolution for the issue. One of the worst services I have experienced in a pharmacy. The crew are absolutely horrible. If they are short staffed need to hire more people . And I can understand some people can be really horrible to deal with. But it is absolutely uncalled for for some one who has to come in with open wounds to get that prescription because they don't wanna give it to the person that was assigned to pick up. I'm rating this store a 1 only because of the one person who didnt really want to help me. Everyone else has been very nice. I needed to do an exchange. Simple. I got 2 shampoos instead of 1 shampoo and 1 conditioner so I just wanted to swap the shampoo. I had my receipt. I just bought it earlier that day. The woman, I think she may have been Indian but she had 2 nose piercings (I should have got her name) . She stated that it all depends on the price because you had a coupon. .Just because I had a coupon shouldnt effect an exchange. They were the same price and brand. Since she didnt want to do it I told her well it seems like youre having a hard time with me doing an exchange and I wouldnt want to give anyone a hard time so I will come back and just return both items ( I didnt have the other shampoo with me). So I walked away and just decided to shop as I planned. As I was shopping, I felt like she was following me around the store. And not to mention the intercom went off several times for security to wall through the isles. It may not have been for me but It was uncomfortable. She made me feel uncomfortable! I live next door to this cvs and I use this pharmacy. I never had an experience like this here until now. Young is also amazing! Very friendly guy and a pleasure to come do business with at the store. Helps me print my documents quickly and cracks a joke while at it. Seems like an amazing genuine guy who works hard and cares about his customers. Always has a smile on his face. Makes the whole CVS experience here very pleasant . I've been coming here for more than 20 years, and I am SERIOUSLY considering taking my business elsewhere. The customer service at this CVS has gotten worse. I went in there today to get a prescription filled (as I messed my neck up last month, went into emergency room, MRI, etc) and was in severe pain. Worst pain of my life, actually. And I broke my back 20 years ago, paraplegic, etc. Anyway, I arrived at 5:30 this morning to fill the prescription filled and the pharmacist wouldn't do it. She said that they won't fill prescriptions until after 10 AM! I don't understand why they call themselves a 24 hour pharmacy, yet won't fill prescriptions until after 10 AM....I cannot fathom it! So here I sit, in severe pain, waiting for 10 AM to roll around. I believe that if you have the ABILITY to help someone in need and you don't do it (ESPECIALLY if you are affiliated with the health care system!!) then are less than human. It may sound melodramatic, but when you are in chronic pain and this is the reception you get from a business you have given your business to for two decades...... I just don't get this way of thinking. I wish someone would explain it to me. And it's not like I was asking for any special treatment. I was merely getting a prescription filled. At the moment I despise CVS. I REALLY HOPE SOMETHING CHANGES, BUT I AM NOT HOLDING MY BREATH. Anyone reading this, maybe try Target pharmacy... CVS IS A JOKE. The CVS Pharmacy staff is amazing! Phyllis went above and beyond to help me solve an issue with my prescription and the entire staff were great. You can tell a lot about the leadership of a business by how pleasant the staff is, especially at busy and stressful times. The culture of the CVS pharmacy is first class. During my visit everyone was friendly, smiled and were very efficient when helping...not the normal pharmacy visit from my experience. More than stars are deserved! read more

Absolutely one of the worst pharmacies in San Diego. I left this place once before because of their horrible customer service and lack of common sense and knowledge. 3 years later I'm forced to come back here because this is the only pharmacy chain my worker's comp insurance will allow me to use. One would think that they might have improved over time. Not at all. In fact, I think they have actually gotten worse. Multiple times now in the last 5 months, I've come in to pick up a prescription and it either hasn't been filled or they can't find it, or they don't know what the medication is (is that even possible? I would give ZERO rating if available for the pharmacists who work the shift that covers the evening through 10 pm. The skinny old one tells all patients with a new script that has a San Diego zip code that is not in Mira Mesa that they don't fill scripts "outside the area". I have never heard such hogwash! Poor lady in front of me was like what? That's where my doctor is! I don't usually go to this CVS, but my regular CVS in RPQ didn't have enough of the medication I needed filled, so they referred me over to this one. And yes, my doctor has sloppy writing, so the (1) he wrote for how many medicines he prescribed on the prescription wasn't quite in the box. They had also given me the excuse that my doctor, who is in San Diego, was out of the area so they couldn't fill. When I almost exploded, then their excuse was the number wasn't in the correct place. The pharmacy staff are terrible, mean, rude, stubborn, disrespectful, and there is one specific pharmacist that is the absolutely the worst. She is power hungry and has a God complex. She loves telling customers that she doesn't care what the Doctor wrote. It's up to her when you can get your meds. When I moved and found myself right next to a 24 hour CVS I was ecstatic. I get a few meds every month. I also work nights so I thought it would be amazing to come and pick up my meds on my way home. Then I find out the CVS graveyard shift can't get and meds until 8-10 am. Why are they a 24 pharmacy if they don't fill meds??? Why doesn't CVS get a larger crew to work graves and then maybe the"24" pharmacy could fill meds between 10pm thru 6am. Also they are completely unprepared for normal day refills. I can't tell you how many times they've given me a time over the phone and then I show up and (surprise surprise) they're not ready. Once I came when they told me (I guess I'm the moron to have expected it) and it wasn't ready I ended up waiting another 2 hours and 45 minutes. When you try to call to check if the meds are ready. You will be waiting 20-45 minutes!! So if you want a pharmacy that is unreliable, irresponsible, and doesn't give a crap about you. Then this is your pharmacy. read more

This 2 stars is because they allow homeless people begging for money to sit up against their building right next to the door. When I brought this to the clerks attention she said she would notify the manager.when I returned to the store to pick up my prescription 1 hour later the same homeless guy was still there. CVS has the phone system from Hell. If you want to speak to a pharmacist, you have to listen to a long, canned speech about their great COVID-19 contributions. You tell the computer that you want the pharmacy. Then finally the options. Of course, the pharmacy is #7, the last on their list. After pressing 7, you get to listen to a long canned message about flu shots an about COVID-19 a second time. Then you finally get to the pharmacy line which you are invariably automatically put on hold. At this point, you get to listen to loud, distorted music which is punctuated by more adverts for getting a flu shot. Of course, you have no idea how long the wait time is for the next pharmacist. They used to tell you how long the wait would be, but not anymore. Sometimes the wait is under a minute, othertimes ten minutes or more. If you want to request a change, you have two options: 1) write a snail-mail letter. 2) speak to someone who barely understands English. The pharmacists, are almost always very pleasant to talk to. read more

The two stars are for getting seen at the minute clinic in a very timely manner. No wait time at all! It all goes down hill when I go to the pharmacy counter to check out/wait to pick up my prescription. The lady at the counter is basically shaming me for not having insurance (The health benefits at my new job don't kick in til the first of next month). It's not an ideal situation to pay out of pocket for a prescription or to go to the minute clinic if you don't have insurance. Luckily this is just a temporary situation I am in while waiting for my benefits to kick in. But the fact that this lady at the counter said "I'm in trouble" and that I'm paying a ridiculous amount of money for my prescription is just outright rude and disrespectful. Like, you think I don't know that I'm paying a ridiculous amount of money for my medicine? I did not need to hear her personal opinions on Kaiser, and how it basically sucked to be in my position. I couldn't believe I was having this "conversation" with that woman- I had to defend my situation and say that there was nothing I could do. I never felt more defeated after that encounter. I wish people with a severe lack of professionalism and customer service could be held accountable. I highly doubt that woman would ever be reprimanded for her actions, but the least I could do is share my experience and warn those out there that this pharmacy has horrible customer service. read more

Came here right after surgery to get pain medication early in the morning, they told it should be 1 hour before its ready we will call you. I came back 1 hour after they said the medicine wasn't ready they said 10 min please. Okay no worries. A whole hour passed while i was waiting in front of them. Went up to the desk and asked status still not ready. Customer service was good but their wait times are ridiculous especially when theres 5 people back there. Thankful that Mira Mesa, a location close to my home, has "Rapid" testing available but the wait time after registration is extremely long (eta: 1-2 hours). Of course as a responsible adult, I did what I could to pass the time by going on my cellphone browsing the internet, but if it takes 1-2 hours to get tested then why label the service as rapid?Might as well just label the service as covid19 testing without the former. Came in for my vaccine today. The Pharmacist working in the morning was extremely impatient & very rushed. I waited to get called into the vaccine room and she took my temperature. It was a little high she said. Then we waited and she took it two more times. Still high although the third time it was literally 1 point higher than their "system" would allow to enter in order for me to get my shot. She insisted I call to reschedule, telling me how she can't give me my shot because it looks like I'm about to "develop a fever", mind you my temp was barely over 98. And here I am hours later, NO FEVER and still no shot. The whole time she was rushing me, telling me she has a list of patience for the shot today and that she doesn't have time for my temp to go down. I understand protocol, but when you are rushing a patient? Honestly, if she's going to treat patients like that she is in the wrong profession. Find another job. read more
