This place just does not seem to care in my opinion. I've gone here and seen no one at the register, or in the whole store, and had to wait for someone to finally come from the back. I would think they would be worried about people stealing. They don't do promotions like some of the other stores, and they said it's because they are downtown. Not sure why that matters. Also, twice I have gone here and gotten candy that was old and stale. I bought chocolate that was turning white, which seems to indicate that it has been sitting for way too long. Another instance I bought a candy bar that tasted like chalk and was hard. After that I have decided not to give them any more of my money. For as much a they charge the items should be fresh. read more

SCAMMERS - Beware of the dirt bag cashier scammer. I bought a couple of items and gave this cashier a $20 bill. My change should have been $10 plus some change. This dirt bag cashier only gave me the change and held my $10 bill in his hand. Then he tries to ignore me without giving me the $10 bill. Okay, this 7-Eleven is smartly located across the street from Petco Park. Not only is it surrounded by condominiums and downtown apartments, but across the street from the ball park. Can you imagine how much money they rake in during base ball season? Other than being a smart location, it is also a very nice 7-Eleven. It's weird... they don't sell beer that I can see, but it's a really nice and CLEAN 7-Eleven. I can't say I've been to a shinier one in my entire life. The layout is a little funky though. You pretty much need to walk to the middle of the store just to nab a pack of chicle. Strange complaint? Maybe... but who does that? Everywhere else, it's within an arm's reach of the cash register so you can rock some fresh ass breath while buying your go-go taquitos. Fit charges $4 a pop for a bottle of Smart Water. It's not very intelligent of me to purchase it for that price. That's why I head over to this 7-11. Besides being about half the price for gym necessities such as water, Power Bars, etc. it's nothing special. Just your average convenient store. The Slurpee nor food selection really dazzles me, and the clerks are run of the mill, but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay $4 just to wet my beak a little bit. My thing is to go in for some "Big Bite Hotdogs" (2 for $2.50-ish) and load em up with hot cheese and chili. They have chicken wings and pizza by the slice ($1). So cheap, I bought a slice for a homeless guy and gave it to him on my way out MERRY CHRISTMAS :p Fully stocked inventory, Slurpee selection is fantastic, and they accept all major credit cards -yes even AmEx. You walk in there at night, and the place is brighter then HEAVEN ITSELF!! Holy COW!! Usually not crowded except for lunch time when all the construction workers -who are presently working on that big East Village Library- stop in for lunch. If I could teleport, I would pop in RIGHT NOW for a Suger-Free Slurpee. But we can't do that YET, and I'll look forward to that sugary treat another day... I have visited different spots but this is my ever best experience which I am sharing with you all So, I was hesitant talk about 7-Eleven at first. The reason is because I think all 7-Eleven's are the same. However, since I have not been to everyone, I will review this one. They make it better than I or any of my co-workers can make it. That and they have non-dairy creamer. There are always little elementary students buying their morning juice. That says a lot about the comfort and safety of this 7-Eleven. The facility itself is nice and clean. Their managers are a bit quirky. They are cool though. They didn't make me take out my license when Lastly, they have pretty much anything you need on the fly. Go there when you don't have the time or sobriety to go any further. I will highly recommend this spot because it gives awesome products. read more

O thank heaven....when I just feel like having a crappy sandwich and a milk and lunch time I know where to go......you are right by the Park in the Park at PETCO. I enjoy your vast array of awful salty snacks that I know I should not be eating...... The only bad part of my eating experience during my park in the park lunch is that recently while I was reading the paper and eating my lunch, a fairly large dog ate the rest of my sandwich. Our loft has 12-ft high ceilings, and two smoke detectors. Said smoke detectors will start beeping at you when the battery goes dead. They will also continue to beep when you pull the oddly shaped square battery out, and continue to beep until you place a new battery into the proper receptacle. These stupid batteries both decided to go dead at 2 am on a Saturday night (morning?)... so you can imagine our thrill at having to lumber out of bed to climb a ladder and try to wrestle the battery out, only for the detector to continue beeping. What does this have to do with 7-11? The East Village 7-11 has probably saved us from throwing ourselves off our balcony in frustration. This 7-11 is literally across the street from our building (beat THAT convenience) AND they carry the funky square batteries needed to quiet our beeping smoke detectors! YAY! P.S. This 7-11 doesn't carry beer because there are enough bars in the vicinity, and enough homeless too... the residents have petitioned against their liquor license, although they keep trying to get one. Great location right across from Padre Stadium for snacks and drinks. Once interesting thing is that they literally lock up the refrigerator for alcohol after hours with a chain and heavy duty lock. The microwave is now located behind the counter so you have to ask the cashier to heat things up for you. read more

So, my friend and I just out of the late showing of Avatar (3D) and were looking for a place to eat; but all the eateries in the Westfield Plaza mall were closed or closing, so we went to the only place we knew would be open at 10:30 p.m.: Good ol' 7-11. They had fresh-out-of-the oven cheese and pepperoni pizza slices for only 99 cents, and my cheese slice wasn't too doughy. I bought a $1.99 sausage hot dog for a street person outside the door; he agreed that the pizza crust could have been less doughy and better baked, but who am I to complain. I work kinda across the street, and go there quite a bit for their coffee. I don't drink coffee every day, and don't want to get "the habit" again after giving up caffeine, but I go several times a week for a decaf with a splash of regular if I need help waking up or getting through a long, long work stint. Their coffee is really much better tasting than the S-chain, in my opinion. Great "flavored" versions too. The manager here is fantastic, and so is the staff. They are friendly, helpful, and keep the coffee flowing. Their other stock is fresh and in supply. Most important, they keep this store ULTRA clean. If you want snacks to take to a ballgame, I highly recommend this store. 7-Eleven at The Park is the best! read more

Went here to buy a 12 pack on my way to my friends house at 10:30pm... Also right below my building :o) They do not sell beer which I've always thought was weird but it is true that there are enough bars around...Basic is right next to it! Great place to pick up snacks and drinks when you're in a hurry. Every time I've been in the store, the slurpee machine has been in working order. It's generally pretty clean and the line moves quickly if you hit a lunchtime rush. It loses a star for its weird alcohol policy. read more

FLIES & low IQ staff. Yesterday I went to get a donut and there were flies all over. This problem can sometimes be difficult to tackle but if you're a business ESPECIALLY a downtown one, shouldn't your standards be higher? Additionally, every time (EVERY TIME) it never fails: the staff does not seem to understand what a "White Owl Blunt" is. I can point them in the right direction, tell them the color, and the stupidity amazes me. After selling cigars and other products, shouldn't you understand what people are asking for? Also, I think knowledge of basic colors and basic items should be required to have a job there. If it happened once or twice, i wouldn't complain, but it happened every single time I've ordered and I don't have patience for stupidity or just plain ignorance. If you're going to staff people who have language barriers, that's ok too, but if they take a couple minutes finding a cigar which is in plain sight, there's a problem. Most people would be rude and lose their patience, I'm not one of those, but I've come close to being that customer. I'd go to a different 711. read more
