The doctor informed me he was sending the prescription to Anderson RX. I was on my way to Anderson to pick it up unsure if being so late, it would be filled that night. Not even five minutes later, I received a call from Anderson RX reminding me they were closing soon. When I arrived they were very friendly, even being so close to their closing timeframe I received my prescription. First pharmacy who looked up our insurance information and updated it without us having to provide new cards. Walgreens will not do that! Anderson RX is by far the best! We drive from Redding just to go to there, it's worth the drive for the service.

The soup is always hot, well attended to, and refilled regularly. At Placer Heights the salad bar is always fresh and has a dedicated attendant who also freshen the soups and cleans and stocks the bar. I've also seen (who appears to be) an upper manager who will periodically do spot checks with thermometers to ensure quality control. Wow! Very impressed! The deli is great. Meats and cheeses are always fresh. Produce is fresh and bread is fresh. Best deal in town for a sandwich and a soda! Produce rocks. Everything is fresh and presents well. But by far, the single main draw is the staff. Outstanding customer service professionals from the store manager to the Supervisors and from the head clerk to the grocery clerks and baggers. They definitely hire a type: Customer service oriented, amiable, professional, and friendly! That's why I shop and/or have lunch there nearly every day! The new price is basically $5.00 for 8, so I guess the price per bagel has gone up, but what hasn't. !!HERE IS THE BIG NEWS! THE BAGELS ARE NOW WATER BOILED!! What that means is they're more like real bagels like you would find in an actual bagel shop, a more dense and chewy bagel, yeah like New York I guess, even though I've never been. The previous bagels were basically fluffy beard donuts! Costco ended their association with Einstein's bagels (the bread donut ones) and now makes their own using water boiling before baking. They're a little smaller around, but denser. I got a bag, just watch the dates. The staff was just putting some new one out. All the normal flavors are out the including cinnimon rasin. I tried them and, whoa, what a difference, it way better. Maybe not totally as good as an actual bagel shop, but way better than what they had before. I used to avoid Costco bagels, but not any more. Try them out! I just wish they were pre sliced ... that might be asking too much.

I was recently advised that I would have to leave my healthcare practice by March 2027 due to…read morecurrent staffing shortage and how hard it has been over the years to find and hire someone. I saw on Nextdoor a referral to a new healthcare practice called Juniper. It is only for seniors over 65 with medical coverage from Medicare and Medicare Supplimental plans. . They apparently don't take private pay, Medicare Advantage (so few people take that any way) or Medicaid. This set up was perfect with me and they are taking new patients. When you call to enroll it is followed up by a telephone consult that goes into great detail about the practice and it really worked for me. I like the fact that they did this pre-scanning so they didn't have to waste people's time. After that call, I received a prompt appointment and was able to fill out the enrollment form online. As usual with online applications, and often the ones on paper. There just isn't enough room to put down the information you need such as all your doctors, prescriptions and prior medical treatments. So after I I filled out my online application, I took information directly to their office that had all of that stuff so that I didn't have to waste time filling in all the details. I was hoping that they would be able to enter all of that information into their system before my first appointment. It had all been entered! So I just went to my first appointment yesterday with Kelly Morales, a PA (Physician Assistant) who was just wonderful. In addition, I did bring a paper copy of the additional information and again she was able to ask lots of questions directly from that detail. Being obsessive, I also took copies of my latest blood test, bone density test, my last colonoscopy and mammogram results. Again, she was just able to read down all of this information and ask questions. I felt it very important that I had that since I was changing a medical practice which had for 10 years worth of information. She has all of that detail that was relevant to now and the past history. She noted that most people who come in, their answers to doctors, medical procedures, and the prescriptions often end up with answers of " I don't know" which to me is very frightening. It sort of wastes that initial visit time. So we had a very effective first appointment. She was very thorough and I never for one moment did I feel that I was being rushed, which is actually my usual experience with physicians assistance, which is why I like them so much. I know some people are really wary of having a PA as your primary care person, but there is a doctor who is available for the more complicated thing. Please look up what the education requirements are for a PA. You will probably be stunned to find out how extensive their education and hands on experience needs to be before they get licensed. I think that should dissuade anyone from being worried about being treated by them.

Since it's been "Chef'Store, prices have gone up, and quality has gone down. Went in to purchase…read moreboneless skinless chicken thighs, $3.50+ a pound, didn't purchase them. Last time I was in Chef'store I purchased bone in, skin on thighs, they were about the size of pigeon thighs, couldn't serve those to guests. They no longer carry a LOT of things that the old Cash n Carry use to have. 10 pound bag of onions was a pretty decent price, but the yellow onions in that bag were really small, not medium to large like the old Cash n Carry. I'll be sticking with CostCo from now on to purchase what I need, more of a variety, better quality, and priced more reasonably, even WITH the membership fee.
