On May 7, 2019 my husband and I went to this CVS location to get some skin care products. It should be noted that I'm a 51 year old white woman and my husband is a 65 year old black man. Anyway, while we were looking, a guy (had no name tag but we were later told his name is Julio) approached us and told my husband to put whatever he stole back on the shelf! WHAT???? Julio said he saw him on camera! We don't steal!!! No need to anyway. So I told Julio to watch us as we followed him to the counter to make sure we're not accused of putting back the alleged stolen merchandise. Julio told us he was the manager and called someone on the phone (we learned later that he was the shift supervisor, not manager). I started filming this harassment and Julio flipped out. We left the store. I called CVS District Manager and talked to a guy named Mack. Mack said he was going to watch the film and speak with the employee and store manager. I guess he did, IDK. Here's the thing though, and people need to know 1) I've been shopping at this store location for decades with no problems but the one time my husband is with me we get accused of shoplifting!?! 2) While I was researching CVS phone number, I stumbled upon TONS of lawsuits from CVS employees saying they were told to watch Blacks and Mexicans because "they are theives". OMG had I known this I would have stopped shopping at CVS long ago!! Google it! It's real! It's NOT ok on any level! RACIST company!!!!!! Do not shop here!!! Boycott racism!!! read more

I just had a terrible experience at your CVS location (701 Portola Dr, San Francisco, CA 94127) and it's really great to open up my Saturday wth this shitty experience so I think I should share this with you. When I checked out, my 20% off coupon doesn't appear in my account. The guy at the checkout asked me to find the email and send it to my card again. So I found that email and sent it to my CVS card. I got the "success" message but that coupon didn't show up my account still. At that point, I was expecting him to manually put that 20% off of my total but he needed to call the manager. I saw people waiting behind me so allowed the next person to go ahead. He never thanked. So I waited for the manager and she showed up, opened up another counter and started helping other people. What was I waiting for? Aren't you supposed to help me first there? The whole experience was terrible so I just left. I still don't know why my 20% off coupon doesn't show up. read more

I'm glad there's a cvs near my neighborhood, but the pharmacy department lacks customer service. I stood near the counter and waited for nearly 5 minutes and the pharmacist didn't even look up at me. She was on the phone, but, really? Not even eye contact?? This is your opening day right? I used to work in the service industry and understand the value of customer service. Nowadays people have so many choices, and are really watching what and where they spend their money. A really BAD 1st impression. read more

I transferred all my prescriptions to this new CVS since it's very close to my house and my pharmacy insurance is with caremark, so naturally I would pay less at cvs. The pharmacist was nice, and the technician was very polite and helpful as well. However, the store supervisor Jo, was extremely rude, obnoxious, and unprofessional that I am going to transfer all my prescriptions back to walgreens, which is just half a block away. This store just opened, so how could supervisor Jo be so miserable? It's obvious she hates her job, and the young inexperienced cashiers she is working with. Absolutely horrible service today around 4PM. I was waiting in line at the register. There was one cashier open. All of a sudden a second cashier opened up. I was next in line. When i walk up to her register, she told me that she will help the person behind me. Does CVS has a policy of helping whomever they choose to help in line and not take the order of the individual. I made it known to this cashier i was next in line. Even the lady behind me told the gal that i was next. She totally ignore the comment and pushed me out of line. Absolutely horrible service. I don't agree with these negative reviews. This store has all the essentials and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Their pharmacy is way better than the now-closed nearby Walgreen's ever was.(small inventory of medicines requiring a return trip.) That hasn't happened yet at CVS. For that reason, I'm out! The comments about understaffing are spot on. I received a garbled voicemail and tried to call the pharmacy, and was on hold for 50 minutes! They never answered -- I gave up and drove to the store. They are pleasant enough and said "yeah, sorry," but I will be looking elsewhere for my pharmacy needs. read more

Just went to CVS this morning. Sarah the cashier took my two extra bucks coupons (one for $2, the second for $10) and told me the wrong total amount due. When I looked at the screen, I noticed she only took off one of the two coupons, the $2 one. Anyone with half a brain could have seen the $10 coupon was not taken off. When I pointed this out to her, she did not apologize about her mistake, just said she was trying to figure out how to fix it... with attitude. It's not my fault you can't do your job right. The rest of the people who work here have always been really friendly and helpful. But make sure to check your totals/coupons if Sarah (young lady with strawberry blonde hair) is working. read more

I have and we have been patronizing this pharmacy for 3 or more years. Had always felt that they were always working hard to provide the best possible service to their customers. Fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, this particular location is so popular and so frequented that it has become ineffective! Even at 9:00 a.m. sharp there are long lines and if you call there are up to 40 minute wait times on hold. Considering all of these adverse situations I have anticipated and adjusted accordingly and even then they don't seem to be able to have prescriptions ready when you arrive. Used their automated system on Sunday night to refill a prescription for a family member set up the time for pick up to 2:30 PM on Monday and instead went in on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. to pick it up only to be informed it was not ready. The staff is still super friendly and courteous But that does not allow you to conduct business which is obviously securing medication for the individuals that need it and is not an option. read more

Far superior to Walgreens! I have been a lifelong Walgreens customer, but had enough recently after attempting to pickup a prescription at multiple locations prior to a trip, only to find out that they were all closed for lunch with the pharmacist telling me to come back in two hours! Who takes a two hour lunch? Anyhow, CVS is much better organized and the pharmacists are available during stated business hours. The stores are also much cleaner. read more

I am not sure how to rate this pharmacy. The pharmacy department is great and very helpful. The store however is not so much. The staff is nice enough but when I bought a product there and found it $6 less expensive somewhere else I called the store and asked if they would price match. I was told "no they never heard of such a thing and didn't do that." So I will not be buying products there again but will continue to use their pharmacy. read more

Waited 10 days for my Prescription to be filled. Never heard from them. Went to the Pharmacy and was told that they called me leaving a message that my prescription was denied. A Straight out lie, I never received a call from anyone, They never called my adjustor. As I have lifetime medical judgement from workers compensation. Someone at CVS isn't doing there job. The company I work for is in dire straits. They look to curb whatever expense is necessary even if it means screwing their employees. Their latest cost-saving mandate is that all employees move over to CVS Pharmacies. Reviews of CVS pharmacies, legal actions taken against them and the ability to service their clients are disgraceful. Today, with great trepidation, I went to pick up medicines indicated as being available by their notification service. The pharmacy was a disgrace. Shit all over the place, disheveled employees moving boxes, scanning bottles and oblivious to anyone. Despite describing a call indicating the medicine was available, and a past conversation with one of their staff detailing what to expect and co-pay information, they had no record of medicines for pickup. I asked them to look me up by last name. They did. They found nothing. I asked if they could look me up by any other data field, like first name, date of birth, home address. Nothing. Seems their computer system is limited. A quick call to the pharmacy that's been servicing me for 23 years to CVS attempted to resolve the issue. I returned back to CVS. The staff at CVS can't even take a moment to ask, clarifying questions such as "do you go by another first name, what's your address, or phone number." Such limited stupidity! This is everything I've read about CVS and their inability to be more than poorly-paid corporate pawns. CVS, it's a place where their pharmacists can deny you access to your medicines on "Religious Objection." This from CVS HQ "CVS spokesman, Mike DeAngeli, said "under Arizona state law the company must accommodate any religious convictions that prevent a pharmacist from filling specific medications. Arizona pharmacists are required to notify the company in advance about any religious convictions so CVS can make other arrangements to ensure a patient's needs are met." So, I imagine someday, I will go to a CVS pharmacy in Texas and be denied my medicines because I'm a HOMO. Right? Do I have that right? What kind of company shoves their employees into clear and present danger with a pharmacy that consistently gets poor ratings, is sued for shit like not filling out birth control for "Religious Objections? I worry deeply about now having to do business with CVS. It's a shit first experience and one I can only believe will endure visit after visit. Sad that we, as employees are shoved into crap. read more

Worst pharmacist / pharmacy staff ever. They rarely admit it when they mess up and worse they don't do what needs to be done to correct the mistake. I called 45 minutes before closing to ask if they could transfer my Rx, they said they would call if there were any problems and then didn't call and the other pharmacy did their part by putting the RX back in the computer. Then I came at 10 mins before closing to try to pick up my script and they hadn't filled it and tried to say the other pharmacy hadn't sent the script. But that was BS because I saw it there way before I showed up (showed on the app). Then they said said because they were now closed I couldn't just wait for it. Again, total bs. Another time a pharmacy tech took my coupon for a med and gave me $0 off my script. Crazy. I miss the Walgreens on Portola. And they weren't even great. read more

I used to love this pharmacy. There were two women pharmacists who were kind, personable, knowledgable and very competent. One had a baby and her position was filled by a new pharmacy manager. As a reviewer below stated, he is an a--hole. Not cooperative or customer service oriented and basically just nasty. Honestly, if he is a permanent addition and not just a maternity leave fill-in, I'm taking my business elsewhere. The pharmacy is very incompetent and untrustworthy. They often miss the online commitment for drug pick-up. Once they actually mixed another customer's order with mine. Recently, they completely LIED to me about filling a prescription for a long trip. Three different pharmacists (not clerks) said it would be no problem and they would contact the insurance. Well, in short, they never contacted the insurance company eventhough I visited the store 2 weeks in advance and they scanned-in the prescriptions. Well they did nothing, I had to call the insurance and now I can only hope Blue Shield has enough pull to make them do their job. read more

Add me to the list of those who used to like this place. They once had a great pharmacist and staff. However, those people are now gone and have been replaced by what seem to be people who have no clue what they are doing or telling customers. Three months ago, I wound up paying $85 out of pocket for a prescription that they claimed there wasn't a cheaper alternative for. I have discovered since then from my doctor that there is indeed a cheaper alternative. The staff also gave me the wrong instructions for using the $85 med. I expressed my concerns about this pharmacy with a CVS regional manager a few weeks ago. It's become obvious this manager didn't take my concerns seriously. This manager assured me they would stop calling me. And yet they still repeatedly do so! If I wasn't forced to use this pharmacy by my insurance I would have dumped them by now. They sadly have become truly awful. read more
