Yes, there are hella tweakers and stuff has to get locked up because of all the drugs, but why is that Walgreen's problem? They literally have no influence over city policy - you should direct your anger towards our politicians instead. The line moved relatively quickly, and the online order we placed had no issues. On a Winter stroll on Mission street I had to grab a last minute gift due to the power outage in San Francisco this past weekend. In 2025 San Francisco has lost 12 of the Walgreens due to closure. Inside this Walgreens you will find gift cards ,drinks, candy and toys. This Walgreens is still open on Christmas Day so you have no excuse not to buy a gift even if you procrastinated again this year. Ignore the sign that says you can check into your appointment by scanning a QR code. You can't. You need to go to the window around the corner from the main pharmacy window (the one across from all the tubes of cortisone) and check in with the actual person who is avoiding all eye contact and acting as though it isn't their job to check you in. read more

I shop for my clients incontinence supplies at walgreens usually at 9th and market but today I was near the walgreens on mission so I decided to go there. I walked straight back to pharmacy area to get changing pads and I barely pulled them off the shelf when I was approached by MARCELLA an extremely snooty judgmental unpleasant lady and she says to me "The registers are over there are you going to pay for that" in shock I said excuse me may I finish shopping and she replied you can't steal from here you NEED TO PAY FOR THAT" keep in mind I am no where near the doors I have cash in my hand with my car keys and I have never in life stolen from walgreens. Extremely long lines at the pharmacy no matter what time of day or day of week. If you press a customer service button, no one will come to open the cases for you. Call the pharmacy and you will NEVER get a response (you'll just wait on hold forever). I've had to go and wait in line to check in on pending prescriptions just to get them to start processing them and then I have to go back to wait in line again. read more

This Walgreens is extremely poorly managed. I waited for 20 minutes for my vaccine appointment before even receiving the paperwork. Staff were rude and non-responsive, except for a woman working there named Bianca, who was very kind. Walgreens is insisting on a ridiculous protocol now of scanning you with a pseudoscience thermometer scanner, which they can't even get to work. Perhaps this is the reason they are so unbelievably delayed, because they are doing silly ineffective things and doing them poorly? I will leave this judgment to the reader. The lines are long and you can stand for an hour in the line waiting to get to the window where there is only 1 person trying to take card of a Lne of about 20 customers. I was racially profiled at this store today. One of the elder employees asked me if I needed a basket for the stuff I was holding, I said I was fine. He then proceeded to tell another employee to keep an eye on me while I shopped, in Tagalog. Then while I was LITERALLY AT THE CASH REGISTER he asked me if I was going to pay for the toilet paper! I had put it in my reusable shopping bag to free up my hands. I said, yeah, that's why I'm standing here. It was so rude and embarrassing and totally uncalled for. Disgusting behavior. Made an appointment to get a flu shot and brought my AnthemBC insurance card and was denied a flu shot. I am all paid up for insurance. The pharmacist said, "Oh we are so sorry you will have to pay here it's very expensive you need to go to your primary care organization." I indicated I'm already here I'll just pay in cash full, to which the they responded, "It's very expensive then, $20." So I then indicated to them again, "Okay, I'm here I'll pay $20 for my flu shot" (I need to travel soon and didn't have much time) The nice pharmacist then said, "It's very expensive I'm sorry it's $60 you need see your primary care organization, we're so sorry!" You know what - I am just not going to get a flu shot this year because of this Walgreens. If they could just tell it to me straight. I wasn't upset just annoyed - befuddled - perplexed. $20 flu shot is now a $60 flu shot eh? I am usually quite happy with Walgreens pharmacy's. Furthermore, the store no longer has baskets! But I did pickup my holiday wrapping paper and other items all bunched up against my chest and arms dropping all over the isles. This is a really weathered Walgreens, and overall has probably seen better days. As many Walgreens have closed around the city, leaving many people without convenient access to a pharmacy and many other folks with our jobs, this one still stands. As soon as you walk in, it just feels like a really sad gloomy atmosphere, long lines, and desperate people who steal and make a run for it. But there is a bright ray of sunshine whom I met at the pharmacy. Her name is Blanca and she is such a shining example of patience, kindness, and whatever the pharmacy version of bedside manner is. As I sat waiting for my RX to be ready, I saw her tirelessly welcome each customer who needed help at the counter, effortlessly switching between English and Spanish which just added to her warm demeanor. She thanked everyone for coming, reminded them to have a great day, patiently giving them instructions for their medications. Interacting with her felt like a big warm hug. Exactly what I needed after walking out of dental surgery, experiencing a lot of discomfort, while standing in a ten person deep line at the saddest Walgreens on the planet. Thank you, Blanca! The pharmacist at this location (2690 Mission St, San Francisco) causes medical harm to children. I brought my 5 year old son for his second pfizer dose of the COVID vaccine precisely 3 weeks after his first dose at 5:30pm on Wednesday June 15, 2022. The pharmacy staff performing my check-in were kind and helpful but they had issues with their computer when trying to process my appointment. They asked the pharmacist for guidance, and he lazily said that I need to come back a day later. I politely explained that my son's pediatrician said that he can get the vaccine precisely three weeks after the first dose and I also reminded him of the guidance pfizer provides directly. From the look on the faces of the other pharmacy staff I could tell that they do not trust the pharmacist's judgement. I would be more understanding about being turned away if the pharmacist acknowledged that the Walgreens computer system was incorrect, and offered to at least reach out to the corporate offices about fixing their software bug for the benefit of future children. Unfortunately, this pharmacist chose to insist that his guidance---that I have to wait three weeks plus one extra day---was medically correct. As a result of this pharmacists' incompetency, anybody bringing their child to this Walgreens location will be turned away if they schedule the second dose as recommended by their pediatrician to occur precisely three weeks after the first dose. Thirty minutes later that same evening, I successfully got my son vaccinated at the CVS Pharmacy in San Bruno. I called the pharmacist at this Walgreens to tell him, he told me that the CVS should give him a call. I told him that since he is the one providing incorrect medical care, he should be the one calling the CVS in San Bruno. He took their number from me and while I was telling him who was the individual that assisted me at CVS he hung up on me before I had the chance to finish speaking. read more

This store is by far the worst period Walgreens period and pharmacy period ever period. I could rant about the manager Emily or her assistant manager Vienna or the pharmacy supervisor Anthony or his underling Alfred, but why bother? For over 15 years it's fucked up my medication refills or not been able to get my refills for three weeks, even though my doctor has called in authorization several times during that time. Then after I received the email, stating my medication is ready for collection, I go there, stand in line for 20 or more minutes; yet, at the counter the pharmacist cannot find it, even though the pharmacist told me over a month ago he personally holds a prescription back for me. Where was the supervisor today? As I was told last week, he's been on vacation for two weeks only to return next week. Alfred the pharmacist on duty, or Meung Cheung whichever, became irritable, frustratingly angry with and started wagging his finger at me, extolling the woes of nut having enough pharmacists, pharm techs and 200 prescriptions on his desk because I was wasting his time with my complaint. For over fifteen years I had the same issue at this pharmacy, during which ten years I went to the mission Cezar Chavez store and never had the same problem. That pharmacy and others within an eight block radius closed due to COVID and the petty thievery which even the SF police officers in the store couldn't thwart. I've called the district manager Mr Liu several times over the last 15 years, yet nothing has changed and only become worse with each passing day. Excuses abound from this store and never a peep I've heard from the district headquarters. The blessed 800 number ilon my receipt is for taking only a survey not for leaving complaints or messages. One must call the San Mateo office to get a different 800 custom service number to register a complaint with an agent. And still, over 7 years later I'm still awaiting a callback from Mr Liu, the district manager about this same pharmacy issue. If I could get the medication at Safeway, Costco or CVS's pharmacies, then I would've changed years ago. Sadly they were unable to obtain the manufacturer at all years ago because I tried already. Don't get me started about the current ineffective security guards who sit on their asses at the front of the store, thumb their dumb phones as thieves walk through the store and steal under their noses. Several times I've gone up to them at the front and told and given them a description of the person or persons stealing off the shelves. Begrudgingly they stand up and pretend to care to do their job. One cashier was hit over the head by a thief at the front of the store in front of two guards a couple weeks. The security guards didn't react appropriately at all. No wonder they're security guards. I'd like to make $45 p/h to sit on my flabby ass, thumb my dumb phone and not care about petty thievery in the store. They get paid whether they proactively and appropriately respond to thieves and thievery. As I stated in the beginning of this review, this store is by far the worst period Walgreens period and pharmacy period by far period. The pharmacy staff is sullen, oppositional, rude, abrupt, discourteous and inappropriate. Apparently this behavior trickles down from the top but I truly wouldn't know for sure, as I'm still waiting for the district manager to return my call, for ten years and counting. While I love Walgreens, this one has been plagued with problems for the 8 years I've lived nearby. I purposefully walk twice as far to go to the much better location at Cesar Chavez and Mission, because I long since got over hoping "it will be fine this time" when it never is. They're perpetually understaffed. Because they deal with so much theft, a lot of the products are locked up, which is fair enough. But because they don't have enough employees, you'll ring the bell for someone to come assist and they will often literally never show up. I've waited a full 10 minutes with the loud speaker in the store announcing "customer assistance needed in the shampoo aisle" on repeat, and nobody bothers to come (presumably because they are extremely busy with other duties like checkout). Checking out is also very hit-or-miss. They can have a line halfway around the store sometimes, which sucks if you just came for a single item. Walk down to Chavez for the better option! They are cleaner and properly staffed. read more

Walgreens is THE WORST! I moved all my prescriptions to a major supermarket chain because these guys NEVER EVER answer their phone. I've been on hold for 28 minutes before WHILE DRIVING THERE, and shown the pharmacy workers my phone. NEVER an answer. Just now, I was on hold for 12 minutes and then it rang (literally) 25 times and I was disconnected. I called back, waited another 22 minutes with "one caller ahead of me" and finally had to hang up because I've got things to do. I had one simple, 15 second question: do you take blood pressure readings? Well, now I'm QUITE SURE it's through the roof. I have never once (tried) to call Walgreens, any location, without this problem and I hate them so much for causing me this much anger that I really hope they go out of business and FAST. All of them. Any other business that operated this way would. Just so everyone knows: you don't need this. Go to the grocery store. The staff here is usually really nice but they are shamelessly understaffed, management uses staff poorly, and things continue to get worse, wait times are only increasing, medications are not available, and staff are doing other work rather than helping customers. To add to that, shelves are empty from theft or items locked up so you can't access them anymore. Today they called and said they had no vaccine for my vaccine appointment. There are two types of chaos in this world: Organized (which I am a big fan of) and Shitstorm. This Wallgreens falls into the SS category and it's almost comical. Never have I been in a drugstore and been so lost, so turned around and so confused. It's almost as if someone emptied all of the inventory into a canon and fired it into this store and they just left it where it landed. Lotions aren't together, bandaids are somewhere next to SF tourist sweatshirts. Condoms are with toothpaste and god forbid you are looking for razors, good luck, I think they may be hiding with the candy or perhaps with the denture cream. However if you need an H1N1 vaccination, you are set! They have that, errr, at least I saw signs alluding to this. Maybe that's near the film section or the candy bars? They also have a pharmacy that is just as unorganized. So good luck here, bring bread crumbs so you can find your way back to the door and enjoy the chaos. Cheers! read more

You shower me at minimal cost - with cheap makeup, cleaning supplies, Ferrero Rocher chocolates, and Tylenol Cold and Sinus flu stuff. I love that you're often open early. And close late. I love that your prices are consistent. Except for your pleasant sales - on ridiculously sized candy bags. I love that I know your aisles, and things are usually categorized right. And today at the check-out, your lovely employee, while ringing up my purchases, even went into detail about the best, most green-friendly way to unclog a shower and sink drain. It doesn't get much better than that. read more

This is probably the worst walgreens in the entire world. The pharmacy is inefficient, understaffed, and under stocked. Basically, there is nothing redeeming about the pharmacy. They do have basic items, but lack variety, so you pay a premium on regular items for no reason. The store is cramped, old and the best part might be the red box which is also often out of stock of new releases. The manager here is super nice though. read more

Everyone needs stuff and there is almost a Walgreens on every other block in the city, so you know where to go. In most cases it's more about convenience than saving an extra dollar or two by driving out to Target, so I stop in to get what I need and back on my way. I like this location since it is very close to the 24th Street Bart Station. It's much nicer than the one on 16th and less cracksy. read more

I mean ...all the Walgreens I normally go to are pretty organized and consistent, but one thing that gets me about this location is that it looks like everything at any other location could be found here, BUT it's more like a 6 yr old bday party and when it was over you had "clean up time". This is my home store and I've been going there for several years. The pharmacy department is incredibly helpful with figuring out insurance snafus and getting me short-term supply when there's a prescription delay. Sometimes the lines are long, but just go after rush times like 5 and noon--they're open until 9 pm on weekdays. The photo department does a great job with prints and greeting cards. They keep the store clean and the staff is friendly and responsive. And I really appreciate the murals and the way they highlight local artists and schools and nonprofits in their display windows. People who gave low ratings are most likely racist, as usual for businesses in the Mission. Four stars instead of five because I can't give a giant corporation five stars. read more

I used to go here all the time when I lworrked at 24th and Mission. A lot of crap to buy so you can walk down the aisles and roam around looking for deals. Good sized store. A lot of Sinful nail polish choices if you want nail polish for dirt cheap. The customers are a lot of Spanish speaking folks, many of them illegal and they are super friendly. I know, because the big business in this area is making fake green cards and driver's licenses. I know because I used to take the photos for people and I knew all the guys who made the fake I.D.s. Cartas, cartas! A lot of stuff at Walgreens is expensive when you compared to some of the smaller stores up and down Mission between 17th and 24th on Mission St. Yeah, this area makes Walgreens seem overpriced and a bit of a rip off compared to the flea market prices at some of the other stores. read more
