Came here to pick up a prescription because my regular pharmacy doesn't carry the medicine I needed So here I am, sixth in line, six more people behind me, one cashier open, at least five people behind the counter, other than the one with the only cash register working No pharmacy staff comes to help. Nothing. Even the inexperienced one leaning against the wall who was just watching. This is poor customer service....it really is. When I think of CVS, I think of prescriptions not anything else that's for sale in the store. I go to CVS to get a prescription. I should go in. I should get out with really no delays They should be ready to rock during busy time. Others behind the counter just watching or doing fairly nothing is unacceptable. Simsbury Pharmacy is a much better choice. Only come here if you absolutely have to read more

This CVS is located as part of a larger plaza, but feels like it's in its own space. There is a small parking area to the right of the store to save you from crossing the street, and more parking with a road between the lot and the store. There's a mailbox next to the entrance if you have mail. I went after the pharmacy closed, and it was dead. Yet the cashier gave his hello as soon as I walked in, asked if I needed help.... I'm not sure there was anyone else working. But they have self check out so who needs extra humans? The store is fairly large, and pretty clean. It was a standard store though, with everything you need or want from a CVS. No comments on the pharmacy because I had no interactions with them. read more

I'm not sure what's happened in the past couple years, but the experience gets worse every time we go. They are clearly understaffed which is surprising for a major corporation. There have been a number of times, where the wait is 20+ minutes or the employees clearly don't want to be there. Nobody ever says welcome or hi, they give the vibe that I should be serving them. Last time I went, I waited 10 minutes in the drive through. I finally went inside and asked if the window was open (given no sign). Her response, sorry we didn't have anyone to work the window. It's a 50/50 chance of the drive through is open. Even when it is open, you just sit there. My wife went today to pick-up a prescription because we were leaving for vacation. She was waiting in line and as soon as 1:30 hits . . . Everyone is turned away. The pharmacist rudely says, "it's our lunch." I've never heard of a business just shutting down at lunch, never-mind a national brand. My wife said, we're leaving for vacation and the pharmacist just says, "it's our lunch." No mention of closing at lunch when you call and you really have to hunt for it on the website. I'm not sure what happened to the culture in CvS over the past several years, but hopefully they get back to the customer focus I remember growing up. read more

Horribly run pharmacy. This is my third trip back to pick up prescriptions because each time I come, they don't have my full order. Made the mistake of showing up at 1:45 when apparently they're on break and the windows are closed. Unbelievable. Have never seen this anywhere else. read more

Quite possibly one of the worst run pharmacies in the area. The drive through window is randomly closed during regular hours. Lines inside often run halfway down the length of the store. They once charged me nearly three hundred dollars for a 3 months supply and gave me 1/6th of what I was supposed to be given. No apologies or embarrassment on their part. Some of the half dozen people that work there have attitudes that exacerbate the situation. Watch out for a young pimple faced chick who works there. She doesn't make anything better. read more

Had a prescription that was supposed to be ready in an hour, two hours later still not ready. After being asked to wait another 30 minutes I left. Went back two days afterwards to pick up and was told they were on lunch and to come back in an hour. Will not ever use CVS for anything again! read more

It's bad enough that they are understaffed; but the staff is poorly trained. Four people in line and only 1 person for pharmacy. A car pulls up to the drive in and a staffer in back drops what they were doing to attend to the car. But they couldn't help at the counter? Counter person didn't call for a second ringer until 5 people were in line and then, no one came to help so she left the counter to find someone to help. 5 people working at the pharmacy. Only 1 "sort of" working the counter. The line is all the way down the aisle. I wish I could say that this was my experience only once, but it happens pretty much every time. Half of the time, they don't even have my script ready, despite having received a notification for it. Please fire the doorknobs that work at the Simsbury location, CVS. read more

This is a terrible pharmacy. They are always understaffed, never answer the phone, and it can take days for them to refill a prescription. I've had to go and wait for them to fill prescriptions when I submitted the request days earlier and ran out of the meds. A couple of the staff and pharmacists have been there for years and are terrific, but their recent hires are horribly rude and disagreeable. I had used this pharmacy for 20 years, but recently transferred my prescriptions to another CVS because of the poor customer service. read more

First off I'd like to say that this is a review of the pharmacy itself and not the retail store. The retail store is fine. This CVS location is the worst pharmacy I've ever been a customer of. I have had so many negative experiences here that it's hard to keep track. I can go days without hearing back about my prescription refills being ready. When I call to check in I'm told they're in process and then suddenly they're ready an hour after my call. One time after waiting two days I was told it's because I didn't expedite them. I'm fairly certain it doesn't take that long to fill prescriptions when they're not expedited. Seemed like gaslighting. I've lived in cities and used high volume pharmacies and they're able to get prescriptions completed an hour after I refill. To add to this, many times my prescriptions are not processed correctly, failing to go through my insurance. Therefore, I've learned I've been paying more for months. When I finally figured this out a worker told me that it's because whoever did it didn't know the proper code to use. I was told I couldn't get refunded for all the months I paid more. This pharmacy is never staffed properly. Sometimes not staffed at all and so they don't open. Oh and good luck getting them to answer your call. I wish corporate knew how terrible this pharmacy is, because I have used other locations and they function fine. There are some SERIOUS issues at this pharmacy and they need to be addressed. This pharmacy is super close to my home and that's why I've used it. However, I've finally reached a point where I'm going to drive further just to use a different pharmacy. read more

Always busy with the drive through for prescriptions at the pharmacy or in person at the retail store. Every now and then they're off with refilling medicines (requiring you to come back at a later time) but overall service is ok and it's in a convenient location. read more

There was no line and the Pharmacy told me it takes an HOUR every time to fill any type of ADHD script its a store rule.... the head manager seemed nice it was a lady playing dictator. Ive been to many CVS and never had this problem, i am embarrassed for this establishment I will never go here again read more

I'm speaking for my pharmacy experience only. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Horrible, horrible, horrible. New prescriptions even refills take hours if not days to fill. My OBGYN faxed a script FOUR times before the CVS staff told me it was out of stock. I had to call and visit repeatedly to find this out. I didn't have the RX number for a refill once and was on hold to speak to the pharmacist for 40 minutes. I was told once they answered that they hadn't even caught up from the requests from the day before. I understand this is a VERY busy location, but these issues have been happening for months. It's no fault of the staff, but of the management. Hire more help! read more

I wouldn't have anticipated reviewing a CVS as five stars, because, really, what's the difference between one CVS and another? But a recent experience here made me realize how helpful a good pharmacist can be. I got a case of pinkeye two weeks before my wedding courtesy of my fiance who had caught it after picking up the toys of his friend's two-year old pinkeye-ridden son. I'm a germaphobe as it is, so when I first experienced symptoms two weeks before our wedding, I panicked. I also learned that Kaiser Permanente no longer exists in the Northeast. So, I went down to the New England Urgent Care walk-in clinic on Hopmeadow, where I was given a prescription. When I took it to the Simsbury CVS, the pharmacist saw that the price of the prescription was really high and Kaiser would not cover my prescription outside of a Kaiser pharmacy. In my panicked state, I was really willing to pay any cost, but the pharmacist (I wish I could remember her name--maybe her initials were DL?) called the physician's assistant at New England Urgent Care to see if he had any cheaper recommendations. When the alternative he suggested was even more expensive, she came up with the brilliant idea to alter the prescription for each of the two components of the medicine separately for half the cost total. So instead of two drops of the expensive prescription, I would take one drop from each bottle. Ultimately, my conjunctivitis cleared within a day or two and I saved about $60. read more

CVS is CVS, but this one is very nicely located near some local hotels and came in handy when staying down the street at the Simsbury Inn. This particular location is very large and has a great selection of everything you may need if you're staying near by and forgot something and are in a pinch, or you need a few snack items, toiletries or OTC medications without having to find a grocery store or resort to a gas station quick stop. read more

This has got to be the friendliest CVS that I have ever gone into! We were greeted by every single employee and asked if we needed any help. I felt as though I had stepped back into time! We found what we needed, and were surprised at how organized and clean the store was. If in the area again, I will not hesitate to shop here if I need to. read more

Sadly, this is the worst CVS ever!! Perhaps that's a little bit of an exaggeration because the worse CVS's are closed. With that being said, the staff here over and over again remind me that they hate their jobs through their piss poor customer service. I went into the store after a snow storm five minutes to close to be greeted by all four employees in the store itching to leave. I'm not blaming them for counting down the minutes to go home to whatever they have waiting for them. I'm going to fault them that their greeting to me was, "Just so you know we're closing in five minutes." My response was simple, ok, where's the Benadryl? After being sent down the aisle I found some allergy pills. One of the employees that greeted me walked by with the trash bag. I inquired where the Benadryl cream was. He showed me where the itch cream was and walked away back to the front. While bending down picking out the Benadryl that would be best for my sick daughter. I was greeted from the front of the store by an employee who shouted down to me that, "We're closing now" My response was a little less polite this time. I stood up with three different types of creams/pills/spray. The cashier asked asked if I had a CVS card and I responded snipping, "Yes I do but since you're all in such a rush to close perhaps I'll pass this time." The gentleman that twice told me that they're closing decided that it was his turn to share some unsolicited advice. He felt that it was needed to share with me that it doesn't take that much time to type in my phone number. My internal thoughts weren't shared with him. I simply ignored his asinine comment and left the store at 5 minutes after closing! So to the four employees that worked the evening of December 3rd 2019 your attitudes towards me really just sucked! read more

The pharmacy did not give me enough antibiotics for my child, when I went in to get more they said they would have to charge me for another bottle. I shouldn't have to pay for the pharmacy's mistake. My child should do his antibiotic for the whole time prescribed. Very Unhappy! read more
