Super underrated for hanging flower baskets ($14.99 each) as opposed to close to $30 each elsewhere. Just have to spend some time picking through the best ones but it'll be worth it.

When the Avon Walmart opened up in January 2001, the apocalyptic naysayers decried everything about it. They would create a traffic nightmare on Route 202, they would squash out dozens of small businesses, etc. They wanted to sell firearms. So here we are a dozen years later and Walmart has seamlessly become a part of the local landscape. Have I bought clothes here? Yes. Have I bought groceries here? Yes Have I bought toys here? Yes. Have I bought camping stuff here? Yes Have I bought electronics and cameras here? Yes Have I bought small appliances here? Yes Have I bought health and beauty aid things here? Yes, Have I bought lawn and garden stuff here? Yes. Have I bought books or magazines here? Yes Have I bought toilet parts here? Yes Have I bought paint and hardware and tools here? Yes Have I ever been disappointed here? No. They have just about anything you need for any room of the house. They are OK by me

They don't have a full grocery section, but you can find flour, oil, seasonings and some other "dry" items.

We buy all of our kids' lacrosse equipment at Sartorius now, and they've never steered us wrong. Our older daughter was ready for an advanced/high level stick and we appreciated so much that she could try many different options right there in the store and get feedback from staff members who actually know the sport and could guide her towards the best options for the position she plays. Our younger daughter's goalie helmet had a hardware issue about 6 months after we bought it and I brought it to Sartorius expecting to need to pay $40 for a new throat guard - not so, Chris had the right hardware and fixed it for us in minutes. Their stringing services are also fairly-priced and quick.

Chris and Paul guided me to not one, but two pairs of shoes (Hoka and Saucony) that fit great. My orthotics squeaked a bit in the shoes, but Chris had a brilliant solution that involved cutting a layer of thin material to insert in the shoes. Takes time and skill, but he did it for all four shoes while I waited. Now I can sneak up on people without the squeaking giving me away... Happy and grateful (and stealthy) customer.

This Goodwill isn't the largest, it is still a nice size. Their clothing is sorted by size and by color. The books could be much better organized. If the kid's books, and at the very least "adult" books could be on separate shelves it would make browsing a lot easier. It is worth a look as most will run you $1.99. One of the things that makes me a bit sad is when I find someone's grandma in a framed portrait. You won't be finding my grandma's picture at any Goodwill. Another thing that I'm a bit confused about, is whoever gets rid of handmade pottery. They all have their names engraved on the bottom. These are very unique and likely made in high school, then given to Grandma. On today's trip I found a very cute plush bird. I have a few of these birds in my office. This Goodwill is fairly priced and it has fitting rooms.

Used boys shorts $7.19, boys sports brand t-shirts $6.99, etc. Carts are filthy - I don't think they have ever been hosed down. Often, stained clothes on the floor. Nearly all items are overpriced, and I'm very disappointed to see this store go downhill fast. The positives about the store - very helpful staff, great location with plenty of parking.

However, when I went to the register to make my purchase today a grouchy old lady with a huge stick up her a** had the nerve to tell my twin 9 year old sons to not touch the candy bags on display if they weren't going to buy them. I quickly wondered why she would ASSUME we weren't going to buy them and I asked her if she was in a bad mood. I followed up by saying that I've never heard that people can't look at candy bags or show their parents for possible purchase. She said that many customers won't buy an item if it has been touched. WOW! Is all I can say. The nerve. Everything is touched in their store! Candles are smelled, pillows are squeezed and the list goes on. This lady had some nerve and even the manager behind her told me it was fine if my kids picked up and looked at the candy bags. I mean what's the point of having tiny gum-ball machines right next to the register if NOT TO ENTICE children?!!!!! Anyhow, people are just rude and all I can say is that if you're damn near 80 years old and working at Marshall's just chill the F*ck out. You don't need to act like you own the store and try to make up these crazy rules to try and assert your non-existent power. Maybe CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT THE JOB FOR YOU. If you do have grandkids I pray for them because you do not know how to talk to or treat children.

I love their clearance racks which can be found at the end of the aisles. A great place to bargain shop. I've always loved TJ Maxx and Marshall's is essentially its sibling. The following types of products can be found at Marshall's; footwear, clothing, bath, bedding, home decor, furniture, beauty products, jewelry, housewares, toys, giftware, and per supplies. I loved their candles and random skincare, and soaps. The clothes were pretty decent if you dig around the racks. The employees were friendly. Overall, a fun place to shop and you can find some treasures; as their slogan says, "Your surprise is waiting and never boring, always surprising."

Jenn was phenomenally helpful, knowledgeable and informative, kind and not at all pushy. I bought my Dad the Brooks shoes which have already helped him. I do like the idea behind their system. It is a 3 part, 3 insert system designed to help the feet to heal. That said, due to my Dad's advanced age (92) and the fact that his foot issue just started, I think it's best he see a Podiatrist 1st. To make sure there isn't something more serious going on in the foot, bones, muscles or joints. Jenn was okay with that and even recommended a podiatrist. Overall based on pur experience I give The Good Feet Store in Avon a high rating. If we do go with their insert system and my Dad follows through daily and consistently then I truly feel it will be money well spent to relieve his pain and improve quality of life.

Good Feet Store, Avon CT - Deceptive Advertising, Fraudulent Practices…read more One star is one too many. The Good Feet Store (GFS) employs purposefully misleading advertising that lures customers into its stores and then uses deceptive, and even unethical, sales practices based on the psychology of selling and designed to convince customers to purchase an exorbitantly priced three-step system of arch supports. Additionally, the GFS has a "no-return/no-refund" policy that is unfair to the customer and inconsistent with the common practice of other merchants, then using it to defraud customers. A brief summary of my experience follows. I went to the GFS because I needed to replace a pair of walking shoes having seen several of their ads on local TV. * Through its well-orchestrated sales experience, the GFS persuaded me to purchase nearly $1900 of expensive merchandise, including the $1600 arch support system designed to resolve medical issues that I did not have - no arch or alignment problems. I was sold products I did not need and could not use. * I attempted to return in less than 24 hours later after only an hour's wear because it was causing discomfort. The manager cited the GFS's "no return/refund" policy which I was not aware of until after I attempted to make the return. I had merchandise that had no value for me and the GFS had my $1900. * The GFS used its fraudulent practices to make even more money from my transaction. After my unsuccessful attempts for over a week to get a refund, the store manager finally allowed me to return the merchandise, because she could resell it, but only for a store credit. However, in addition to the very expensive arch support system, the GFS only sold five styles of footwear and a very limited set of low-price items most which are 'accessories' to complement the arch support system that I had returned. As a result, there were no products that I could use. So, now the GFS would be able to make money on the resale of the merchandise I returned and also by keeping my $1900. This is a very lucrative type of transaction for GFS. If this is not fraudulent, it is certainly unethical and not in "good faith." The GFS does an incredible job of selling "hope" to often vulnerable customers and making a quick sale. Capitalizing on customers' trust in local businesses based on their many years of experiences with honest and ethical retailers, the GFS readily takes advantage of the consumer misassumption that the GFS is operating under the same standards. I was not alone in my abhorrent experience with the GFS. There are many examples on web sites such as Google, Yelp, Reddit, and TrustPilot where customers have written reviews or made claims about the GFS practices. I spent over two weeks trying to resolve a problem with the Avon Good Feet Store (GFS) and did not get my refund of nearly $1900 until after I submitted a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and the BBB interceded.
