I don't appreciate being racially profiled. While shopping with my daughter, I was repeatedly asked if I "needed help" by an elderly white woman in the store--despite clearly browsing like everyone else. I was the only one being targeted and harassed. This is not the first time this has happened, and I'm done staying silent. Not every Black, Latin, or brown person is a thief. Many of us are professionals, business owners, and earn six figures or more. I will be sharing this incident publicly. Went to the drive through with one car online in front of us. No big deal. We are waiting & waiting. No movement at window. Finally after about 10 minutes the vehicle in front of us pulls away, but we never see anyone come to window to help them. Then we drive forward & also nothing. No one ever came to assist us. To Whom It May Concern: My child is on a medication that there are withdrawal symptoms if not taken when directed to. We are not allowed to refill this medication a day before the prescription is done. Luckily for us, my child waited a little after being prescribed the medication to actually start taking it, so we had a few on hand. On January 2nd, CVS received the refill request from her Neurologist and I was informed via text that CVS would be ordering the medication. On January 10th (9 days after the initial contact) I hadn't heard anything back from CVS, so I followed up on the prescription. I was told it never came in and they would order it again- that it should be in on Tuesday, Jan 14th. No one ever contacted me to let me know. We wasted 9 days when I could have ordered from elsewhere. Today, (Tuesday, January 14th) I get a text from CVS saying: "CVS Pharmacy: XXX, We are contacting your Dr. for an alternative medication for Rx XXX. Will text when ready. Questions? Call 9737263422" The Neurologist contacted me and asked me to find another pharmacy that could fill it for me. We did and sent it to the other pharmacy. My complaint is that it's taken almost 2 weeks for CVS to tell me that they can't fill a prescription that my daughter needs ASAP. Furthermore, we are due to travel outside the country soon. THANK GOD I began refilling prescriptions weeks in advance, otherwise, we would have a SERIOUS issue. It is crazy that I have to prepare weeks in advance for a refill through CVS. I am so upset about this. It's stressful enough trying to time the refills correctly because this medication needs to be ordered. I cannot believe that CVS has let 2 weeks go by before informing us that they cannot fill our script. This is an extremely irresponsible and DANGEROUS thing to do to people who need their medication. I'd hate for this to happen to anyone else. I tried calling customer care about this issue and after 6 minutes of waiting to speak to a representative, I had to disconnect. Scheduled an appointment for a flu vaccine on minute clinic website. I also received numerous updates regarding checking in time etc from the minute clinic. I have been getting the vaccine for a number of years at the minute clinic . My appt was at 12:30, I arrived and checked in at 12:15. At 1pm I still was waiting. Finally a nurse came out of the minute clinic examination room , I told her I had an appointment at 12:30. She seemed confused and asked to see my conf#. She then advised me that I was suppose to go to the pharmacy not the minute clinic. In their defense it does say that on the email confirmation, however I was going based on previous years. At this time I said I couldn't wait and would reschedule. When I got home I received an email that said my heath chart has been updated. I reviewed my chart and it shows that I received the vaccine at there location, the lot number of the vaccine along with what arm I got it in....Let me be clear I did not get a vaccine I left. I called the pharmacy and was told that it was really busy earlier in the day and someone else with a similar name could've been in and their info was entered into my chart, as well as billed to my insurance. That is pretty scary. The incompetence of the pharmacy staff is unmeasurable. The lady I spoke with said she would do "like a refund to my insurance", or I can go in now and they'll give me the vaccine. I told her No I will not come in to get the vaccine and that quite frankly at this point I don't trust what the heck they'll put in my arm. I will be notifying my insurance company to advise of the incident so that CVS doesn't try to bill them. Service is awful. I was online at the drive through and the only customer there. Rang the buzzer several times with no response. Finally got out of my car and knocked on the window. Again no response although I could clearly see the people inside heard me knock and made a decision not to respond. Finally someone came to the window after a total time of approximately 10-15 minutes. No excuse for this extremely bad service. Based on my past visits and the other reviews, I am not hopeful for an attitude change. I frequently visit the CVS on Mandalay in Clearwater Florida. The service there is the exact opposite of what I experience in the Sparta NJ location. The staff in Clearwater are wonderful. Always cheerful and very helpful. read more

This pharmacy receives no stars(if this as an option) for the rudeness and lack of customer service. The person answering the phone clearly has no training in service, empathy or communication skills. The woman needs to be fired immediately! The pharmacy has recently lost a number of their long standing techs leading to their hiring baseline people. CVS health continues to undergo significant challenges along with the other pharmacy chains. In a world where customers have choices on where to do business, can you continue to hire people that are the furthest from being able to provide adequate customer service??? I waited over 15 minutes at the drive through the last time I was there and was the only person on line!!! Their 1:30 - 2:00 lunch hour when they're closed is ridiculous. i moved to sparta in 1984 at that time we had 1 pharmacy, sparta pharmacy. also everyone didn't go to the doctor every time they had a broken nail. every doctor in and out of town is loaded every day. and everyone gets a prescription for ! antibiotics ! the girls and guys that work in cvs are getting killed by the system. by what ? the system, we all work for the system. the paperwork is more important than the job !!! with everything. trying being nice what is the rush we are all going to the same place in the end. i run a large service department with over 28000 customers. don't be nice i won't be nice. if you are dieing go to the ER then you will get good service ! sure. the girls and guys at cvs always take care of me and if they ask me for help i would jump behind the counter and start cleaning the floor if needed. Why does *everything* in our town suck?? Forget the fact the workers are nasty and never at the registers... If you make an appt. for a vaccination or flu shot it's utter madness. There are NO SIGNS directing you where to go, so you wander around and assume the pharmacy is where you need to be. So you wait in the pharmacy line for over 5 minutes - b/c there aren't enough workers and/or there's an issue and the line doesn't move. When you finally *do* get to the front of the line, you're told to wait in ANOTHER line (that I guess you should have magically known to stand in - because, again, no signs for anything). Once again, you'll wait for 10 minutes or more, because the person at the front of the line has a problem and evidently it will never be solved. Just go to the Oakland CVS, where it's clean, they're nice and helpful and you can get a flu shot in under 5 minutes. There's a new minute clinic and instead of spending the money on that, corporate should have figured out how to have this CVS not suck so hard. read more

I do not know about CVS before about 2 years ago. All I can say Is that these posts are staged by their competitor, Sparta Pharmacy or something is wrong. Sparta Pharmacy opened about 2 years ago. They have 12 reviews and every single review is a 5 star review. Yet CVS has been open for probably 10 years, has 17 reviews and most of the reviews are 1-3 stars BUT most are dated around the time Sparta Pharmacy opened. Coincidence? I can't prove it but just saying that there is no way, regardless of how good your service is, that your going to get 5 stars from every customer every time. I was very hesitant about going to CVS but after being abused by Sparta Pharmacy - being overcharged, getting ripped off and simply being treated like garbage I couldn't deal with it anymore and just wanted to be a number at CVS. It turns out that I am not a number at CVS. 1) Most of the staff is very friendly and nice. 2) They do the best possible job with all the business they have. However when they promise a time, it is done. Period. 3) They do everything they can to get you the best pricing and work with the insurance companies you have. 4) Yes it is packed but at the end of the day they carry most medications unlike Sparta Pharmacy which is an inconvenience every month for someone who needs medications monthly. 5) Even though the employees at CVS don't even own CVS - they treat you like it's their own pharmacy and are REAL nice. I know the manager at CVS Pharmacy has been there for at least two years. But she has been the best, has a great staff and out of every transaction that I have done with the pharmacy - only one error but was fixed within 15 minutes. At Sparta Pharmacy - errors every time you go, the owner will rip you off any chance you get and again they act like they are dong you a favor. I have NEVER wrote feedbacks on companies because I don't want to waste the time. But when I saw this on YELP - I had to speak up. I think it is quite obvious that the staff at Sparta Pharmacy went out of their way to make CVS look bad by getting the friends/family to post a bunch of negative reviews. I am upset at myself that I recommended over 10 people to Sparta Pharmacy. I never told them to switch even though I should. But I let people make their own decision and just hope they treat the people I referred to them better then they treated me. As a customer, to any pharmacy, I would be considered a good one to have. I don't expect them to kiss my feet but I do expect to be treated like a good customer. Almost 99% of the employees of CVS treat me like it is their pharmacy and they appreciate my business. At Sparta Pharmacy they act like they are dong you a favor! Give me a break. And lastly like I mentioned before, I have uncovered that the owner lied to my face about submitting claims that were "denied". He never submitted them. He just wanted to get cash from me. I have been going to this CVS for 16 years and they did not bother to let me know that my insurance company's contract expired with them. They chose not refill my prescriptions and chose not to contact me, they just totally ignored my two requests allowing me to believe that it was being processed. Now I don't have my medication. The worst pharmacy by far that I have ever experienced. I sent my husband to pick up my script ( at drive thru) the young girl questioned my clueless husband as to why I was prescribed 2 meds for same thing. She then warned him if he picked up both, I would not be able to return one if it was a mistake. So he erred on the side of caution an took only one script. When I went back for the other the next day, they said he had picked it up!! I made several calls to them, but they only picked up first one. Then just let it ring and refused to speak to me, in the end it took me another month to get my insurance to order a replacement. So a month without my anti- depression meds. Nice. The store itself is fine, but the people working in the pharmacy piece are HORRIBLE. I have had multiple negative experiences here. The most recent one included a pharmacist names Pinky. She called me up to get a prescription, then told me she needed to help the man next to me because "he was sick." I had strep. She was rude and appeared clueless about what her job even was. Another time, a pharmacist told me she wouldn't give me my medication because I didn't have a parent with me. I was nineteen years old. She was asking me all these questions about what my medication was, saying it was for her computer. Pretty sure that violates something, somewhere. Horrible service! Every time we have a prescription sent here I'm waiting at least 30 minutes. Last night was the final straw. They had 7 hours to fulfill the script. So disappointed. Went for a COVID test with a scheduled appointment. There for 10 minutes and then told to wait. The woman there told me their were some problems and never got back to me for 20 minutes so I left. A line of 8 cars behind me and most left. Terrible feeling in this time of uncertainty! Exceptionally poor service. After three hours of prep a prescription wasn't filled and we were told to return in 30. We come back an hour later and it STILL wasn't done. The pharmacy is terrible. The wait time is ridiculous. Some of the staff members are friendly, but others are rude. There is always a line and they are always rushing customers to try to speed things up. If you wait 40 minutes for a prescription you shouldn't be rushed when you are finally checking out. The employees seem completely overwhelmed and the pharmacy is highly understaffed. I was recently told my order was in, but no one had time to check the truck it was on so they couldn't tell me when my order would be ready. Really? Is this an appropriate response from a pharmacist? Just horrible service. I have to call the CVS specialty pharmacy monthly to have them ship my prescription to this store and there is ALWAYS a problem. Then the store blames the specialty pharmacy. I've spoken to the head pharmacist several times. She is very pleasant, but nothing seems to change. She can't be there all the time, and when she's not its a terrible place to try and get anything done. Thankfully a new pharmacy opened in Franklin. I used them before I moved back to sparta and now I'm switching back to them. It's not convenient to drive 2 towns away for something as simple as this, but anything is better than the Sparta CVS. read more

It is 2017. I am talking about the Sparta CVS. I am all about the small guy. I am an entrepreneur myself and unfortunately am disabled so require a great deal of medication. After being treated, abused and talked about at Sparta Pharmacy (yes the new one) along with just them acting as if they are doing me a favor, not properly submitting insurance (which ended up costing me hundreds if not thousands of dollars that I wasn't suppose to pay) -- after all these negative reviews of CVS I didn't want to go. I actually went there with my list of medications, spoke to the manager, explained my situation and after 2 months I have now been a customer for approximately 1+ year of CVS in Sparta. 1. The ENTIRE pharmacy staff is extremely nice. 2. If I ask for something to be ready quickly, it takes 15 minutes. At Sparta Pharmacy, I would call AHEAD OF TIME, wait 2 hours and it still wouldn't be ready and then they would make me wait another hour. It always took me an HOUR at a pharmacy even if I dropped prescriptions off BEFORE hand. 3. CVS has employees. All I can say is the employees in Sparta are all real nice to me (I don't expect them to but they just go out of their way), when I do have to wait I see they give the same treatment to EVERYONE else. 4. I'm sorry but being all about small business I don't even want to write this as I don't believe I have ever put down a small business. But SPART PHARMACY = -1 star. I have no relationship or affiliation with Sparta Pharmacy OR CVS. I do not know any of the people on a social level. So I feel that these reviews are definitely either bogus or from Sparta Pharmacy. I do see the staff at Sparta Pharmacy doing this. Additionally what makes me sick is when Sparta Pharmacy first opened, I got about 20+ people from Sparta to change to them. 1) They never thanked me. 2) They didn't even give me just ONE co-pay on them...nada, zip, nothing. My appreciation was shown (as mentioned before) as if filling a prescription was a FAVOR. DO NOT GO TO SPARTA PHARMACY. The pharmacy service is terrible wait times are way to long. Today I walked up to the counter after waiting for a few people in front of me and the lady at the counter just walked away and left me standing there for 5 minutes. Someone else came over to help me of course my script was not ready yet. So I waited for them to count out 90 pills. I walked out after waiting 45 minutes. Everytime I go here now it's always the same thing wait 30 to 60 minutes even though the script was called in hours ago. I will now drive over to the CVS in Oak Ridge, it will be faster, until the other pharmacy in Sparta opens. read more

Worst. I am transferring all prescriptions elsewhere . Terrible service I don't fill a lot of prescriptions but when I do they are almost always out of stock. Yesterday I waited on a line 8 deep for 20 m with one clerk. The girl gave me the wrong otc allergy meds and when I tried to exchange it the assistant manager had no idea what he was doing and in the end I was told I could not exchange because they had already swiped my license so I was unable to purchase more allergy medication. I Have used this pharmacy for a couple years as it was open 24 hours...to find now they are not..First off i have all my maintenence prescriptions sent to this location .. they continue to fill automatically even when i am not in need of it ..call me to tell me it is ready..annoying.. I suggested to them to sync my medications as i a do not live very close but need to use cvs for insurance to cover it at its greatest benefit.. I called them yesterday being at a veterinarians appt right around to corner to have them fill my meds .. the girl sara answered the phone told me there were scripts put back because i never came to pick up...that would be the ones they chose to fill without request.. i assume they didnt sync the meds .. she was rude in telling me they put them back because i never picked them up..then i was going to tell her what i wanted filled and she simply hung up on me..very unprofessional behaviour on her behalf.. oh and the manager of the pharmacy dept when i stopped in condoned her behaviour.. Whenever i have gone to this location to pick up my prescriptions i have had to wait well over 30 minutes as they get very busy.. and in lieu of that fact I overlooked the poor service, however, i will never use that location again being that the staff is incouraged not to use professionalism at all times. Maybe screen your applicants a little better..this is an outrage to me..i always end up missing my meds because they are totally incompetant at that store. Have the time i get home to find only 1/3 of the prescription in the bottle..and a note on the bag stating what they owe me..wouldn't you verbalize that upon pickup..they never do.. And they are clueless about things. NEXT, BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT PRICES of your prescription. They tried to charge me $75 for my prescription, the last time my prescription was $5! When I questioned the guy, he "looked it up" and got the price down to $35..... he said, the medication raised their prices!!! at least I saved $40 from what they tried to charge me!
