This CVS is literally the WORST ever. They mess up your prescriptions, give you wrong dosing instructions, do not respond to calls or messages on the app or in live person. Do not process auto refills ??? They do not initiate the basic things such as prior authorization or refill authorization. Their attitude is literally the worst I've ever experienced. They are outright disrespectful of patients. A couple of their pharmacists should be fired. I had my new pharmacy call them to initiate the transfer of my medication profile. They did not only that, but successfully processed my prescription (that didn't actually need a prior authorization) and called me personally to inform me of the status. Funny thing... it's another CVS. CVS pharmacy on Campo should be shut down. The rest of the store can stay, but this last experience was one bad too many with them. Never again. read more

This is my go to pharmacy because it's near home. I was today years old when I learned they had drive through! Omg game changer. I loved not having to get out the car with my kids. I was on the phone with my husband when he said use the drive through. I'm like what drive through??? Crazy! Anyways it was so fast. Took maybe 4 minutes to give my info, he grabbed the meds, checked my ID and I was omw home. I'm doing this from now on because if you have toddlers then you know they love to spend money like they work. The store is set up for you to buy and then add random things are the checkout. Pharmacy service is garbage. They've been working on a prescription for a few days now and now I'm here in person waiting over 30 minutes.

This pharmacy is notorious for not answering their phone. My Doctor has even complained about it to me.

The pharmacy had one job to fill the prescription. If there was a problem with the prescription order, they needed to call the doctor like they said they would. they never did. I needed a secondary authorization that was never requested so now I'm lying here after surgery. Two days with no medication thanks a lot CVS. You're the Best! read more

I have said it before and it seems like they enjoy reinforcing my opinion, this is the worst pharmacy I have ever used in my entire life. The latest bizarre incident is that I am picking up a "refill" and of course I need a pharmacist consultation (again for a refill?) and she asks me 'have you taken this before?" and I reply yes and she proceeds to tell me that it might make me drowsy (the medication is for insomnia), she then mentions "oh, I see this is higher dosage". She walks off and the guy tells me the price and I give him cash, he says you have a card on file, should I just charge the card? I say no thanks you have cash in hand, then gets perturbed and says "now I have to start over and proceeds to cancel my original order and needs my ID back to scan for the order. Prior to picking up this refill, the pharmacy texts me that the order is ready but, I get a text prior to that that says we need more information to fill your (refill?) order. Then 2 hours later I get the text that the order is ready (I never responded to request for more information). The ONLY reason I am still using this pharmacy is 1) all of my other meds come from Amazon but, Amazon can't ship narcotics 2) it is located almost walking distance from my home. I would give them 0 stars if I could. This pharmacy is absolutely the worst of the worst. Staff horrible, whoever orders meds should be FIRED!!!! My medicine is in stock maybe 2% of the time. I can't tell you how much money they owe me. I have 2 insurance and they ALWAYS charge me more than my copay should be but I pay it because I need my medicine. I have no problems at the CVS in El Cajon on Navajo. Called corporate was transferred 3 times and took over 50 minutes. When corporate called they too couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. The call back system is a complete joke. It says leave a message and someone will call you back within a hour. Yes they call back within the hour but say absolutely nothing and I can hear everyone talking so there goes there so called privacy policy. To preface this review, I am prescribing dentist. My office received a call from my patient trying to pick up his pain medication from this pharmacy. He reported that the pharmacist will not fill the prescription unless I gave more information. I tried to call the pharmacy back multiple times personally over the past hour to find out what information they need and was unable to get a hold of the pharmacist. I always do my best to communicate well with other health care professionals for the benefit of my patients. This pharmacy is failing to communicate with me to ensure my patient gets the medication he needs. I am now 38 minutes into my most recent call, and I am STILL on hold. The voicemail box is also full, so I have no way of even leaving a message to resolve this issue. read more

We've been to this location many times over the years but this was our first experience with the pharmacy itself. The servics was good and they were always helpful. We never had to wait a long time to get our medication, which is always a good thing. I had a slight hiccup when I received several reminders to refill a medication after I called and spoke with a gentleman to let them know I changed insurance and won't need the refill through CVS. Later, I spoke with the pharmacy manager, who apologized for the error, fixed it in the system, thanked me for letting her know, and that she would address it. THAT is what I call leadership in action! Besides that, CVS has great coupons, like the 30% or 40% off one item. I used one of mine to buy a pet bed - which are crazy expensive in pet stores. The original price was $9.99 plus 40% off! The pictures attached show both the kids love it! The store staff is friendly and they make sure the customer is satisfied one way or another. read more

I stopped thin newly opened CVS in Casa de Oro/Spring Valley area to pick up some toothpaste. Specifically some ProNamel® Gentle Whitening toothpaste given my teeth have been sensitive to cold as of late. My colleague recommended the product. The first thing I noticed about this CVS was its sheer size. It a lot larger than any of the CVS/pharmacy stores I have visited in San Diego. I liked the wide aisles with easy access and well organized and stocked shelves. The pharmacy is located in the back which you can see right as you walk in because you can not miss the large neon light on the wall. They offered a varied selection of ProNamel® Gentle Whitening toothpaste. After mulling, I chose the one that I thought would best suite me $6.99. I thought it was a little high for a toothpaste, but they also seem to get you with something you really need. I browsed a bit to compare prices and I noticed that their prices are, in general, a little higher than other other chain drugstores. Service was very nice at the register. In fact, a manager stepped in to open another register to keep things flowing. That is always nice to see. read more

I live in the area so I have been to this CVS various times. I always have an okay experience, nothing great..I have learned to not expect much from this place, however today, Alan changed my mind!! I walked in inquiring about the covid testing, I walked around the entire store but I couldn't find any associates until I came across Alan, he immediately greeted me and offered to help. He explained that they are currently only accepting appointments only but he told me how to schedule online. In addition to that, he told me about the at home kits that they have. He was so helpful, detailed, personable and kind, he literally restored my faith in CVS employees!! Thanks for all your help, Alan! read more

This place CVS in Campo Rd. Is horrible, don't take your prescription here. They are rude and unprofessional , attached is a screenshot of the time I was put on hold. They don't care . I went in the lobby one night and there was this customer who mentioned that he was also having a hard time getting a hold of someone in the pharmacy and by the time he got to the line at 7 pm. They told him they were closed. He was pleading to get his sons prescription. The drive thru is a joke. They dont even get to the window until you bang o it. When i called the last time they tried putting me on hold, well the representative forgot to put me on hold and mute cuz as soon as i was placed on hold ,you can hear them cussing and telling one another "the whole fucking family is calling". I get it customer service can be so stressful but if you know your profession is going to face challenges ,dealing withbpeoples health and drugs ,then dont work at a job that deals with that. The front of the stores customer service is spectacular, however the pharmacy here is by far the worst phones constantly not working, constant run around just to get your prescription back and forth calling to the pharmacy and my doctors office . Came in 3 times within a week and a half for prenatal medication and got the run around each time finally got fed up and called drs office to have it sent to a different pharmacy medicine ready within a hour I honestly don't understand why it was so difficult for this pharmacy to do the same I will NEVER EVER return to this pharmacy after always getting my medications here. Let me start by saying I can't stand big chain pharmacies. I use a little mom and pop pharmacy in El Cajon frequently. At a CVS or Walgreens you never seem to get personal service of any quality. The lines are usually insanely long and the staff too busy to really help anyone. Now, this particular CVS? Fantastic! I can't even believe I'm saying this about a CVS, but I couldn't be happier with this store. The pharmacists and techs are all very personable and friendly. After only a few times in the store the pharmacist actually remembers me. They are never really busy to where you have to stand in that stupid line for 45 minutes just to pick up your meds. The store is brand new so it is very clean and modern. Of course your prices are higher for average items bc it is a chain drugstore. That's not news. But if you do need something there's a good chance they will have it. It's a pretty big store with a lot of cool products actually. Look for the sales so you don't feel like you have overpaid. Two pints of Ben and Jerry's for $6! If you live in the Casa de Oro/Spring Valley area and need a pharmacy, you won't be disappointed with this CVS. (The rest of them are still terrible.) read more

I'm totally in love with this CVS! Let's start with the makeup aisle, which is one of my major reasons for going to CVS or Walgreens. Their makeup aisle blew my mind away, they have a greeeaaattttt selection of different makeup brands and the prices are really affordable and they also have great sales going on. The size of this CVS is hugeee ,very clean and also well organized, the customer service is amazing and very helpful. The parking lot is quite huge, so you won't have an issue finding a parking spot. It was hellish just to get my prescription over here. It's been a week of getting bounced like a ball from CVS to my doctor's clinic. My doctor's office keep on faxing the prescription to them, and they keep on telling me my prescription is not there. It's been a full week since I tried to have my prescription sent over to them, and I'm now out of medication. They eventually admitted in the end that their fax machine has been acting up. What the heck?! Maybe you guys should get fax machine fixed so you can get new prescriptions. Do you not want more business by getting new prescriptions? How the heck does your patients get their medications then if your fax machine is not working?! The pharmacists who answer the phone are not very nice as well. They don't get that I wait for up to an hour just to talk to someone. If Rite Aid did not stop having the exact brand of medication I use, I won't even bother with this pharmacy who has a severe lack of customer service. I even had to wait on the phone while working in my office, risking being reprimanded, just to talk to someone. And I still don't have my medication. Thanks CVS Spring Valley for being so horrible. This particular CVS is one of the larger stores. The pharmacy is open till 9:00 pm and the store closes at 10. There is plenty of parking an easy access. The store has a limited wine and liquor selection compare to a supermarket or it's competitor Rite Aid. An ATM machine is located inside the store. read more

I highly advise avoiding this CVS for covid testing for so many reasons. First, you perform the testing yourself in the drive through, even though they say you see a NP. I assure you I never saw or spoke to the NP listed on the paper attached. What could go wrong with patients performing their own tests!?! When I brought this up to the pharmacy tech at the window he said that information was provided online. Show me! I have checked and double checked and that info was no where to be found when I scheduled this test. Second, on that same form it states that I was getting tested because I was "in close contact with a Covid 19 patient". That is NOT the reason I submitted for needing this test. I had a procedure that required negative test results. Isn't falsifying medical records illegal? I brought this up to the pharmacy tech and subsequently the pharmacist. The pharmacy tech smugly said it was my fault for entering that information (which I didn't), but the pharmacist was honest and said this was standard operating procedure. On a final note specifically to the pharmacy tech ...don't get irritated with customers when they keep asking you to repeat yourself. It's impossible to hear through the ancient intercom system we are forced to communicate through. I came in the following day with money to cover my prescriptions. I had to wait while they filled it because apparently they didnt fill it the day my wife dropped off the prescription due to insurance not working. I asked them to look up my insurance from the last purchase, and they said they did and see the medi-cal. They told me that medi-cal does not cover any of the prescriptions I got, but they would give me a discount. They made it so I can get the 3 medications from my dentist for $8.99 each, but my anxiety medication was still $75. I found it odd that medi-cal doesnt cover any of the basic medications but I was in pain and had a bad infection so I just paid for the medication from the dentist and went home. I talked to my wife and she told me that when she got doxycicline and ibuprofen for my kidney stones she wasnt charged after they finally took the medi-cal and updated the system. (They apparently didnt update the system because if they did my updated insurance would still be in the system and I wouldnt be having this problem). So basically they didnt see my medi-cal and lied about it, while giving me a discount to keep me happy and to cover their ass. Why would medi-cal cover ibuprofen one week and not the next? Why would they cover doxycycline and not amoxicillin? Why dont they cover a basic hydrocodone? Why dont they cover a generic lexipro? They do, but they were not listening to me and just trying to get me out of there. They were nice with their bullshit so I give an extra star, but I still think it is pretty crap that they didnt listen to my problem or actually try to solve it. My temporary medi-cal card was accidentally washed so I do not have access to it. When you update your insurance with your pharmacist you expect and rely on them to do their job so this is not a problem. I already emailed corporate. They took 1/3 of the last bit of money to my name, and I cannot get my daily anxiety medication because they didnt do their job. I will NEVER come back here. read more
