Came to this CVS to get some gift cards and Christmas card pack. Parking lot was really full around noon, had to go around to get a spot. There are multiple entrances, the pharmacy is in the parking lot side, and register/checkout kiosks are on Washington St side. The store was mostly clean and tidy. The cosmetics, bath, oral, medicine and snack sections were fully stocked. So many products had sales and discounts, some aisles were just full of the yellow tags. They also had lots of Christmas goods. I was disappointed with the greetings cards and gift cards section. It didn't have as much variety and inventory that I had seen in other CVS. I got here looking for some makeup remover wipes that were natural, environmentally friendly which included recycled packaging, recommended by dermatologists, and were home compostable; No parabens, phthalates, or petroleum. I found them here, and when I opened the package, I found out that had white tea and a pleasant scent, also. It didn't harm my face, they are soft, and there were several other options from different brands and different prices. Self-checkout is very easy, and customer service is always very good here. If CVS in Tenafly is a representative sample of CVS stores , do not pass go, do not collect $200, just sell the stock. Except for the pharmacy, the customer service is god -awful! The prices for sundries and non - prescription meds are much higher than other local stores - so their coupons are a scam to make you think you are saving when really you are overpaying even with the coupons . As an example , Dove spray antiperspirant cost $9 and change at CVS Tenafly yesterday . With a coupon I paid $6 and change . I bought it for $4.99 at ShopRite in Englewood ! Same product ; almost half the price! No coupon, no hassle , no nonsense CVS seems to be moving toward self checkout, which can only improve the current status of customer service and increase their profit margin . This is a busy business and frequency out-of-stock on certain items - and appears messy all the time. . I would recommend you go a bit north to the CVS in Cresskill on the Piermont Road. Better inventory, cleaner, and brighter. You will get the same stuff but a better shopping experience. read more

The Pharmacists are outstanding, professional and approachable. This review does not relate to the Pharmacists. That being said, it seems as if CVS actively sought out the least competent staff to work the registers. Long, snaking lines of customers at both the front counter and at the pharmacy (when the Pharmacists do not intervene) are commonplace. Saying they are bad gives them more credit than they are worth. In the past year they have mixed up names of Doctors on prescriptions, given me someone else's medicine, entirely. Mixed 2 medicines in one bottle, and refilled the wrong Rx. All except giving me someone else's medicine was denied, that was too obvious. Avoid them read more

The last manager who "managed" the store from roughly spring 2015 till just the last few months nearly ran this place to the ground. An associate working at this CVS told me that the former manager was transferred as a punitive measure by CVS corporate. I'm not surprised. The former manager was incompetent, arrogant, and outright rude. He also also lazy and barely worked. No wonder they removed him. I'm just glad that this CVS Pharmacy is now under new management. There is a parking lot behind the store on Riveredge Rd., and a few lucky parking spots on Washington Ave. People abuse the parking lot behind the store, break local ordinances as to when they can park there, for how long, and for what use. In short, people going to the next-door Tenafly Diner or any store near this CVS on Washington Avenue seem to use this parking lot against Tenafly local laws. The lot is never empty, let's put it that way. It is frequently packed that not even one spot is open. The pharmacy at this CVS is great. The pharmacists and pharmacy techs are very professional, very kind, and very helpful. And they are always on top of things. The line to pick up prescriptions can sometimes be long though, and it doesn't help that some people choose to pay at the pharmacy instead of the front check-out, thus delaying the line further because of their own ego. The store is generally stocked pretty well. It's a small store, and it is not a 24/7 store or pharmacy. Because it's a small store the selection may not be the greatest and widest of all the CVS's out there. The front check-out is generally okay, though it tends to get jammed when a wave of people overwhelm the invariably lonely cashier, and only then do they open another register. The old-timers who have been at this CVS for years are the most reliable cashiers, I would say, and show up to the rescue when a number of people are waiting in line for one cashier. I wish they kept more than just one person at the check-out. read more

Was in there recently and cannot believe how CVS rips off its customers! The prices are so inflated on so many products that it is well worth a trip to say a Harmons or one of the other discount stores. One nice thing about CVS is that it is next to Millers Bakery so I just make a left and I can blow off some steam and enjoy a treat along with some coffee!! read more

Worst costumer service in the pharmacy department. Always gave my mother a hard because she was Spanish speaking. According to them they dont accept coupons for medication. I work in a medical field and deal with pharmacy all day long . I always help my patient getting them coupons when they have insurance. My nephew doesn't have insurance at the moment . I myself took the time to help find a coupon to help with price for Tamiflu. Which we known it's expensive. They are the only pharmacy that doesnt take coupons. Ridiculous staff. I went to the CVS store to return an item. The store manager was very rude and started yelling at me. The item I bought was in clearance and i wanted to return it unopened. The manager recently put the signs that clearance items cannot be returned and not when i bought it on March 12, 2012. The receipt clearly says that I can return the items. I informed this to her and she started yelling at me. I left that CVS store and talked to other store nearby in Dumont to check their policy. They gladly accepted the returns and were very helpful since i never opened or used the items. i use CVS for all pharmacy needs for my family. I am thinking twice after this incident. I called the store back to let her know that the CVS store in Dumont returned the items fine, she was so impolite that she hung up the phone on me. I never had such an experience from a professional store manager. Hope you read this review before going to that store. The pharmacy is excellent..this review is for the CVS store only. read more
