Even when several customers walk in at once, checkout is fast and there's never a real line. It's one of those places where errands feel painless. The only real downside is staffing. There usually isn't more than one employee on the floor, and they're often busy stocking. If you're from out of town--especially if you're unfamiliar with self-checkout or need help navigating the store--that can be frustrating. While the layout makes perfect sense to locals, it might not feel as intuitive to someone visiting from outside the U.S. So while I'd absolutely recommend this CVS to locals for its efficiency and cleanliness, I wouldn't necessarily suggest it as the easiest option for international visitors or first-timers. Twice, I have tried to have a script filled at the Tom Thumb pharmacy by my house, and even though I have been getting the same prescription every month for years, they'll tell me that they have to order it and it'll be a week before it comes in. I still go to Walmart for vaccinations, they do that well though the wait is pretty long. CVS in Sunnyvale is the worst for everything. The communication and accuracy there is not good. The friendly pharmacist at Sunnyvale Pharmacy answers my questions, finds the best price for my prescription with my two insurances and fills my order promptly. I like the independent business atmosphere where I actually get to speak to the pharmacist instead of a succession of rotating staff with a lot of customers bustling around.
