Reviewing a CVS feels a little strange because most people already know what they're getting. If you're local, you're probably not reading reviews before walking in. That said, this review is really for people who aren't familiar with CVS or the U.S. drugstore setup. For locals, this is honestly an ideal CVS. It's clean, extremely organized, and very self-explanatory. Everything runs efficiently, and people move in and out quickly. Even when several customers walk in at once, checkout is fast and there's never a real line. It's one of those places where errands feel painless. The only real downside is staffing. There usually isn't more than one employee on the floor, and they're often busy stocking. If you're from out of town--especially if you're unfamiliar with self-checkout or need help navigating the store--that can be frustrating. While the layout makes perfect sense to locals, it might not feel as intuitive to someone visiting from outside the U.S. So while I'd absolutely recommend this CVS to locals for its efficiency and cleanliness, I wouldn't necessarily suggest it as the easiest option for international visitors or first-timers. They have never had customer service here however the apathy amongst staff is at an all time high. Waited for clerk to acknowledge me as she scrolled on her phone. For fun I timed it 3 minutes right in front of me. I asked a question and she huffed because she would have to engage with a customer. What's next will we have to stick the shelves for them soon. This store is is a good location in downtown Dallas but there are tons of homeless people around and in the store which detracts from wanting to go there. Stopped by here today because I needed a notebook, for a conference this week, and also was hoping to get some almond milk. I ended up with a good-sized notebook, albeit a bit expensive (about $4) and some coconut milk - they had shelf-stable coconut milk and unsweetened almond milk, so I got the coconut milk, especially since I'm only here for 2 days. Self checkout was easy and there are I think 3 kiosks. Overall a huge CVS that I recommend if you're looking for grocery or health items downtown. read more

Big D CVS! This CVS is in the heart of downtown Dallas. For being such an urban location, it's a big store! They've got the whole gamut of stuff you'd need from a pharmacy, plus a scant grocery selection, and lots of drinks. When I went, the checkout guy named Memphis was tops- he asked if he could help me find anything, made sure everything was properly checked out at the self-checkout area, helped me bag everything, and really went above and beyond to make sure that I was well taken care of. Pro tip- CVS is a cheap-o way to get Dallas souvenirs and postcards- this one has a whole section with nothing but Dallas-themed gifts! Swoon! The store isn't exactly the cleanest, but it's open longer hours than the competition, and is so centrally located. This CVS is hard to beat. read more

Out and about with some visitors to Dallas and we needed a couple of bottles of water, a snack item and one needed to urgently use the restroom. The store was not kept clean (recognizing it has a high volume of traffic). Plenty of water, but the shelves looked pretty empty and not well kept in the food/snack area. When asked about the use of the restroom, the employee said if was off limits. (Odd, because the person paying was the one who asked and needed to use it.) The employee said we could try one of the other stores nearby. I've shopped at CVS for many years in many cities and many stores and never felt so unappreciated as at this location. read more

On 4/13/2024, I went into this CVS after a strong wind blew something into one of my eyes and I couldn't get it out. I didn't have my glasses and was struggling to read as everything was more blurry than usual. I asked someone near the pharmacy for help in finding an eye wash solution because I couldn't see things too well. Despite asking him to please help me, he told me to just go to the back of the store to find it. I kept telling him that I was really struggling to see and he just walked away into some area behind the pharmacy. I finally found something to wash it out but was very disappointed in how I was poorly treated or should I say how I was mistreated. As I was looking for something else, he ignored me. I recognized the voice as he very enthusiastically asked two female guests of his own race if he could help them find something and kept insisting even after they told him no. However, I was ignored. I don't know if they even had the other thing I was looking for because I couldn't find anyone to help me. I ended up leaving without any type of pain reliever for a horrible headache I had. I needed help in finding one since I can't take certain pain meds. This place is seriously understaffed as there was no one else to ask. Not to mention that it took time to find that one person who was not helpful at all. Their uniform was not easy to distinguish and I only found him because I overheard him giving someone directions to find something. So, if you're not his race, don't bother going here I guess. read more

I ranked the store two stars because it is downtown and kinda run down. The store staff are very friendly and the pharmacy team is always helpful. However, they need to work better at keeping products available on the shelves. On several occasions they have been out of stock on several items. With that said, they do give out rain checks and honor what they don't have available. read more

This store was able to fulfill a prescription for me from out of state, which was a lifesaver! A few days later, I discovered that I had left my license there. Unfortunately, I discovered this once I had arrived at the airport to return home! I called the store, and Tim from the pharmacy made sure that my license got back to me. Life saved again! I have seen many poor reviews on this pharmacy but do not think these people understand how much traffic comes in and out of this store. There's so many homeless people, rude business people, drunk people, etc. It's located downtown! For the location and the staff that has to put up with all sorts of people, I think they are doing great. These ratings are actually for my pharmacist Violet who has been hard working and respectful every time I come in to pick up my prescriptions. The Ethiopian lady is great everyone else is subpar. Pharmacy is nice and the people at the minute clinic you can tell they're overwhelmed. I'm making an appointment at the kiosk and a guy asks, "what are you here for?" I said I was making an appointment for a biometric screening. Just embarrassing. We went to this CVS this evening to buy some provisions for the night. The two female attendants were absolutely unprofessional and rude. They ignored us when we attempted to ask a question, openly laughed at and mocked a customer trying to self-pay, and made disparaging comments about another customer all in earshot of everyone present as we stood in line. How is it that I've never gone here before? This is a full service CVS pharmacy, smack dab in the middle(ish) of downtown. They've got it all: cold drinks, 12 packs of cokes, beer, wine, smokes, chips, candy, cookies, a moderate selection of grocery items, and ICE CREAM. For the stuff that I would need in the middle of the day (e.g. Funyuns, honey roasted cashews, Cherry Coke Zero), they are MUCH cheaper than Urban Market. read more

I was in town for a conference and wanted to pick up a few forgotten last minute items as well as get some snacks for my hotel. My experience was terrible. The layout is easy enough to navigate, if different from other CVS stores, and they are fairly well stocked. My issue was with the individual working in the self checkout area. I wish I could remember his name because he was incredibly rude. One of the 3 self checkout kiosks was down, which I saw on my way in, but the store wasn't horribly busy. Once I finally collected all the items I wanted to purchase, I got in line and was the first in line for self-checkout. This employee who's name I cannot recall came over to me and said to go to the cashier. He said nothing to the man waiting behind me. I go to get in line at the cashier, but that line was hella long. I go back to the self checkout and the man who was behind me was now checking out his items. I get back in the line and the employee is still there "fixing" the broken kiosk. We have a conversation about why he asked me to go to the other line and his response was the machine was broken and he didn't want me to wait too long. My response was that thanks to him instructing me to get out of line, then arguing with me about why he did so, he actually wasted more of my time than if he left me alone. Of course then there was an issue applying some of my CVS coupons and that was another 2 minutes of my life I won't get back. Sadly due to their location they have no fear of losing much business. Pretty much your typical Downtown CVS. They usually have the basic items I need. The best way to check out is to use self-check. There is always someone available to help you out if you have trouble with the machine. Other reviews are spot on with people hanging out at the Main Street Entrance, asking for money. It's on you if you choose to engage or not. The homeless problem in Dallas is a larger issue. My experience with the Pharmacy was average. There is usually a wait but the staff is always friendly. read more

Never run into so bad experience in USA!I am from China ,came here for company salses kick-off meeting in Sheraton nearby this CVS.Today afternoon,I came here and found CoQ-10 was "Buy one get one free".But there are only 3 bottles left.One very nice lady from inside counter told me she already applied for me that the third one would be half price for me directly.After choosing other goods there the inside counter was close for late time. So I went to self-service counter to check out.After I scaned all items I found the third bottle was not half price,so I say "Hello" to one black salesclerk lady for help.But she very rudly and seriously said "You can't say 'Hello' but say 'Excuse me' to me" ,which made me very uncomfortable.Surely, my English is not good enough, but she shouldn't educate me so rudely without any respect.Then I explained what the kind lady said to me,and ask her to change the price of the third bottle for me.She had not patience to hear my explain at all. I said it wasn't I forced her to do that but the kind lady commited to me,if you can't help me to change the price ,please help me remove the third item. After several round explain,finally she quickly operated and removed the bottle(s) from the scaned list then took bottle(s) and walked away.I just checked the final price was correct and collected all items back hotel.Just now I packaged my bag and inconceivably found SHE ONLY GAVE ME ONE BOTTLE with regular price!i was really shocked again by her rude and cunning.She is really a shame to great people of USA for her doings. Yeah, I know...a CVS. But when you go on a trip and forget all of your makeup, you generally need to find some that isn't going to cost you and arm and a leg. Enter CVS. Besides the fact that I take great enjoyment in perusing aisles and aisles of beauty supplies, etc in drugstores, I actually needed a few items to NOT look like a dead person while touring Dallas... He uses an unfriendly tone and when I told him i didn't appreciate his customer service and I was taking my rx to another CVS, he hung up on me. This review is regarding the store itself and not the staff, but this is easily the worst cvs location I've been to. The product selection is great, the staff is great, and yet I hate coming here. The staff is aware and must compensate in spite of the terrible equipment. I imagine this is a pretty high volume store, it shocks me how poorly it's kept up. The point of sale machines are UNBELIEVABLY slow and glitchy, often crashing or just otherwise out of service. I regularly have simple transaction that should take moments take upwards of 15 minutes simply waiting in line behind one other individual.
