Honestly the worst CVS in San Pedro. I only go here because getting doctors to switch prescriptions is a hassle. It usually is getting robbed, there's no self service probably because it's always getting robbed and the pharmacy is the slowest I have ever been to. This location has the best pharmacy manager I have had the pleasure of visiting in comparison to other locations. Jennifer is extremely great at her job. This location is very busy and she is always hustling to make sure customers have the utmost great experience whether it's being checked out, dealing with insurance companies, or administrating vaccinations. She also remembers patients by name and has a welcoming smile....!!! Who does that especially with as many people that visit this location on a regular basis. She manages her staff well and it shows. This CVS is whatever, this location irritated me. I came about an hour after they opened to get a last min bday card, gift card and rose.. total was $40.. the lady tells me she doesn't have enough change for $100... if you don't have enough change then why are you open. I've worked retail before so I know when your drawer gets low you call for the mod and they replenish you... but there's no way you don't have enough in your drawer to give me $59 back... If this is really the case then why tf you even open the store up.... So bc you have no change I came all this way and couldn't get what I needed... no... Yal got a manager and Yal got money and Yal could have gave me change back that was only $59 smh.. I light weight ask to speak to a manager but used my debit card that was already in negative to accommodate cvs on gaffey... I called before I came to ask if they had bday cards... if mfs is driving a ways to your store you need to make sure you got some mf change. Yal had it but to lazy to make it happen. I went in to responsibly dispose of medications through your disposal kiosk, only to find it locked. I waited in line to ask for assistance and spoke with an employee named Ashley, who said she needed to check with a colleague. While she was trying to get clarification, the male employee she approached (whose name I did not catch) dismissively told her to "just tell them it's full" without any attempt to provide further explanation or help. His tone and attitude made it clear he had no interest in assisting, and it was disheartening to witness such indifference toward a customer's concern. While I understand that everyone can have off days, it's important that customer-facing staff still strive to show basic professionalism and courtesy. Being brushed off like that was disappointing and unacceptable. If the medication drop-off service is unavailable or full, it would be far more helpful to clearly post signage or provide information about when it is serviced and when customers can return. This way, customers don't have to rely on staff who appear unwilling or uninterested in helping. CVS can and should do better. the lead pharmacist "Jennifer Park" has a terrible chip on her shoulders. After 8 years of a perfect relationship with Rite Aide, I had to change to a new pharmacy. Pharmacist Park, treats new patients as if they are suspects of a crime. Without making this a long review, CVS has a problem with phone Fraud and I was a victim of this. Even when confronted with proof that I had received fraudulent information regarding prescriptions, she still continued to be rude and unhelpful. After asking me to prove the fraud was real, by sharing the call logs, she admitted it was a known problem, but continued to behave unprofessionally. I'm sure she has to deal with a lot of difficult clients in San Pedro, but her attitude is not one of an educated person. Horrendous experience. read more

I was at CVS store and I know I had coupons to use for my purchase and the cashier didn't even bother to ask me if I wanted to use them I have to ask her if I have some coupons to use for my transaction and she said no you don't have any thing to use. Original review: Good for booze and incidentals, but the pharmacy is awful. I saw a pharmacy tech opening a bottle of liquid antibiotic with a pen point ! If that wasn't bad enough , it was right after he handled money and didn't wash his hands. I asked to speak to the pharmacy manager, a small Asian woman, who acted like I was CRAZY for saying something. Christ, my burrito down the street is served with cleaner hands in gloves ! I switched to Seaside, which I love, but I just found out CVS bought it out and is closing it. None of the people who work at Seaside have been hired as promised by CVS yet. So sad. Now I go to Peninsula Pharmacy. Update: Zero stars if I could. I have Covid feel awful and have a script for Paxlovid waiting. I live alone and I have to go get it by drive thru. They took 20 minutes for 3 cars in front of me, when I get to the window and a recording comes on that they are now closed for lunch. No sign stating that. The druggist that I had just spoken to told me that it was ready, and never mentioned it. Now I have to go back and do it all over again. This is why I will use ANY private pharmacy over CVS Caremark. Unfortunately my regular pharmacy was not listed for Paxlovid online. read more

AVOID THIS CVS PHARMACY! I was there yesterday around 1pm to pick up my son's prescriptions they had about 10 workers in the pharmacy and with that many bodies they still managed to be extremely unorganized. I initially went through the drive thru and was told the bromphen/pseudo/dextro cough syrup is not available, then they said it is available. I wanted to use a coupon for the cough syrup since it was not covered under my insurance due to it being an OTC medication. However, they told me I needed to come inside the store if I want to use a coupon. I come inside to then be told I can't use the coupon on the cough syrup because it contains Sudafed medication. Why couldn't they tell me that when I was already in the drive thru? When I was inside, there was an old Asian lady that was extremely rude she had RBF (resting bitch face) and told me the cough syrup is not available. I told her I was just in the drive thru and I was told that it is available. It was a lot of back and forth while I was there. One person saying something is available and another saying it's not available. There are many other better pharmacies in the area and it was my mistake for using this pharmacy. So I've been going to this CVS now for almost 7 years now and usually I always pick my medications up in the morning or if I have coupons I'll go to cvs in the morning too as well and the staff has always been super sweet to me especially if I had a question or needed help with something and I've always really appreciated that. But yesterday me and my partner decided to go together around 5:45pm and they were so rude! The lady helping me was rude from the start and then one of your other workers decided to just join the conversation and she was super rude to me as well! I will never go to CVS again after 5:00pm! Not sure how these people even work there or help people at the register but it is absolutely disgusting and disrespectful! These people should not be working there at all!!! This CVS is actually pretty decent. The parking lot is clean, they have a cute little drive thru pharmacy at the front of the store, which is essentially safer than the ones that are tucked on the side of a drug store and their all dark and lonely looking. Hence the fact that the Rite-Aid down the street doesn't have one at all. Where they have all kinds of vagrants loitering in the parking lot and sometimes by the door, this CVS does not. I don't know why they are immune to it, because I don't even see security around to shoo folks away, but I have never seen anyone loitering around here. The store is always clean, too. The inside of the store is rather large and well mapped out. Their cosmetics section is a little smaller than some stores, but it's clean and neat and is well stocked. I was able to walk right in and get what I needed without having to search everywhere. You can also wait for a prescription inside, which can be dangerous, especially if you peruse the aisles. You can easily look like you just stepped out of Target in this place. They have all kinds of little stuff and snacks galore that you don't exactly need, you just want. Customer service is essential to me and they have never disappointed. They greet you when you walk in and are willing to help if you need to find something. They also have a Chase ATM if that helps anyone! read more

Again, I wouldn't even give this place ONE stars. I could've sworn I transferred all of my mom's medication's to a different pharmacy but for some reason they keep going tO CVS. Just this past Saturday I went to go pick up her medication and they tell me that it's not ready yet and to come back in 10 minutes so I went to the car wash which took more than 10 minutes I came back and then another girl tells me oh we don't even have it at all. Can you come back on Monday and I'm like are you freaking kidding me? And now it's Tuesday today and I just went stood in line for half an hour and now they're telling me there's nothing to even pick up!! I am so sick and tired of this CVS. I manage my mom's prescriptions and she lives near this location so I transferred her prescriptions there about 4 years ago. I've not had a problem with her prescriptions -- maybe once but it was minor- and when I've gone into the store everyone has been pleasant. I agree it's annoying that the drive thru is closed unpredictably which is maddening as it's a little scary at night time to get out of my car but I understand that Covid and staffing issues have caused problems everywhere. I've gotten Covid vaccinations here and the staff has been nice and professional so no complaints there. The security guard is usually pleasant enough - I've been greeted nicely. I did once seen him follow some teens but he didn't harass them - just made his presence known. I can't say I've experienced any bad employees or seen them treat someone poorly so I'm kinda surprised all the negative reviews. Just had a very unpleasant discussion with a "store manager" who said her name was "Karen." She was argumentative, told me that I was being rude as I questioned information at the bottom of my receipt. I found her feedback about what I was calling about extremely condescending and defensive. This is totally not in keeping with CVS's policy as I've had very good interactions with other CVS personnel over the several years of being a customer. Not at all happy about this person's lack of professionalism. Usually I like this CVS instead of the one on Western. That one have workers (2 in particular) who pieces of work. Anyway, this one on Gaffey for the first time did not have baskets nor carts around. The cashier was no help as she looked and went on with her business. Gather empty carts and baskets should be the easiest job for anyone. You need to have them readily available instead of having customers carry a bunch of stuff in their arms ! read more

Have been to this location many times. Never had bad experience. Then on 4/15/22 all that changed. Went to get wife a razor. They were locked. Pushed the button. No one came plenty watched as I waited. A kind of heavy guy stood then when I looked at him. Ran in hidden office. Was trying to take off locked hager & hanger fell off. Buzzer sounded then security can and heavy guy with black shirt. He wanted to know what was going on I told him. He then said don't do that. I said no one came when I pushed button. When she told a staff member of CVS what was going on, her excuse was "he's just protecting you". Then started talking down on my mother and kicked us out of the store right after. Stopped by yesterday for a pharmacist consultation to see what i could buy over the counter for my eye. Since I had accidently splashed a little bit of water with clorox bleach in my eye. My eye was red, but it was only irritated from the bleach itself. Well, the 2 pharmacists that I had asked were very, very helpful and patient, considering that they were very busy at the time I arrived there and that i had to go ask them twice about the products they have and how to use them too. They patiently told me what to buy and what not to buy and how to use it too. I am very grateful and thanks to their recommendations my eye is better! This is a review for a tetanus shot that I received here, although I come here for odd and ends quite a bit. I stepped on a nail helping a friend of mine tear down a garage in San Pedro. I was wearing soft soled shoes, and you can probably guess where this is going. Well, I stepped on a rusty nail not once, but twice, right through my heal and toe. I finished the job and later that night I went up to San Pedro hospital (Little Company of Mary) on 7th Street, and told them what I needed and I asked what it would costs, and the nurse told me that it would cost over a grand. Something close to $1100. I almost passed out just by the price. It was insane for a simple shot (I guess nothing is simple when it coms to medicine, especially the billing). I left and hobbled to the Urgent Care center on Western and 1st Street, and they wouldn't treat me because I didn't have insurance. After all of that (limping from place to place), I tried CVS and they had the shot and administered it for less than $20. The girl that gave me the shot was courteous, and I didn't even feel the needle at all (and I HATE needles). I highly recommend them for that. read more

I'm on the fence about this CVS. I made the mistake of making this my prescription place so I've had to stop in a few times. I'm nervous very time I come here. For some reason people love to hang around this parking lot. The store has security but they're mostly inside the store, though lately I've noticed one of the guys walking around outside. It's annoying to plan for someone to walk up to you and ask for money. I've barely parked and people will knock on your car door. The last time I got some strange story about needing 50 cents to get supplies for tacos that her sister asked her to make... I always find myself trying to make sense of a story that makes no sense but anyway. The store itself is clean, their pharmacy is good, quick and friendly.
