We are located at a commercial establishment for the elderly, where we give tours to try and recruit residents for personal care. They were hired to install heat fans for our community shower rooms. From beginning to end, the quality was poor. From installing the wrong wires, to cutting our drywall and ceiling up to the point where it left hazardous gaps for residents and/or staff to electrocute themselves. If anything, this kind of work will chase possible residents out and lowers our value. There is no way that their employees can be proud of this work. Absolutely unacceptable. read more

I hired CW to rewire my bathroom during a total remodel. The bathroom was empty of everything and the walls were stripped down to the studs. Asked them to run a line and install a new GFI outlet, light switch, wiring for a vanity light, and a shower light, as well as remove old K&T wiring in the walls. When the team was working I was sitting in my home office working. They never asked me any questions or spoke to me about needs, but ended up cutting 7 large holes in my ceiling to run wiring despite the walls being open and accessible overhead. They mounted the outlet and light switch boxes too deep in the walls for drywall to be mounted flush. They did not remove all of the K&T wiring. And they damaged a pipe in my wall mounting the entire vanity light (again so deep in the wall I need to move it to have it work with the drywall). I asked to discuss the issues and they sent a project manager out, who admitted they should have done a better job with the light switch and outlet. He said they did not damage the pipe, except if they did damage it, it was only because it was old and brittle and it would have happened no matter what. And that the fine print in their estimates states they aren't responsible for damages from holes they need to cut to run wiring for lights. (Part of my ceiling plaster collapsed afterward.) Repairs after this for the pipe and replacing the ceiling with drywall ran ~$700. They took off the $50 "Trip Fee" from my invoice. Very frustrating and definitely won't be using again. read more

Great experience from start to finish. We had some switches that weren't finished being installed by the previous owners and it looked to be out of our abilities based on some YouTube watching. Glad we called the pros ... there was more than met the eye with the project that amateurs definitely couldn't have done, but the pros did it quickly and well. Called last week and had an appointment this week. On time, totally professional and explained everything that was done. Definitely recommend and will use again for any electrical needs. read more

**They will take advantage of you and leave your house A MESS** I just bought a house and needed a new ceiling fan put in and some outlets upgraded. CW electric gave me an estimate and told me I had knob and tube wiring in my entire upstairs and that it was a major fire hazard and I should have it replaced. I trusted them and they started on the $12,000 job. I just bought my house so I really didn't have that money to spend but they made it seem urgent so I agreed. They said they would start in February but every time the date rolled around, they pushed it back a week. Almost a month later and I finally said "this needs done now". They also said the job should take about 3 days to do. When they finally got here and started working, they were here for a week and only finished one room. Thank god they only finished one room because we asked them about the knob and tube and they said they didn't find any. So they talked me into rewiring the entire upstairs when in fact, that wasn't even necessary. We had them stop with the room they finished. They left giant holes in my walls and ceilings and covered them with these cheap plastic covers that don't even cover the entire holes. Some holes they didn't even cover! EVERYTHING in my brand new house is covered in dust. They didn't cover anything. My brand new furniture, my expensive jewelry and bags, my bed, the floors... everything is covered. They didn't clean up any of the wall or pieces of wall that were all over the floor. There's wires and wire caps littered around each room. Luckily I found them before my dog could chew them and choke. The guys that did the work were nice but there is a complete lack of respect for your home. I asked if they would at least patch up the holes they made and their response was "oh we don't do that". Okay fine... but the mess they made was completely unacceptable. I feel like they took advantage of me as a young female new homeowner. They left my new home a mess. It's going to take me days if not weeks to get all of the dust off of everything. I will never use this business again and I suggest you look for electric work elsewhere! read more

He is not reliable. He does not show up when scheduled. He doesn't even have the decency to call, he will only text. When I told him I was not happy, he told me to "fuck off". While the gentleman who came to do an estimate was nice, the prices proposed are ridiculously high. In addition to the high prices, they charge a $50 fee for "gas and vehicle maintenance" that they were unwilling to even consider removing despite being located only a few miles from my house. They decided to respond to my Google review with lies instead of taking ownership of their high prices. That earned them a nice Yelp review too. Let's see if they learned anything... read more

I was initially pleasantly surprised by the responsiveness of the company, however, I made three calls, and a few emails to the "project manager " before just calling the office for scheduling. Warning #1! The two gentlemen that came to complete the job, were wonderful, kind, respectful, and nice. However, there was an issue that they couldn't complete one area and couldn't adjust the estimate. I was told I'd receive an amended invoice with the adjustments in the total bill. Warning #2..So, I waited, didn't hear anything and called the office the next business day...Monday. No call back, same for Tuesday. Wednesday, I was told the person I needed was out and a message would be sent. Little to my surprise, they had already charged my credit card without notifying me nor adjusting the charges. I was livid! No that I didn't owe the bill but that my calls were completely dismissed and disregarded and I was treated unprofessionally and no call to confirm the payment method. To my surprise, I was also charged nearly $50 to travel 13 miles. I recommend looking elsewhere for an electician as CWElectric has significant deficits in the profession that leaves much to be desired. read more

They've done a couple of repairs, and I've been very happy with them. They are very nice, helpful, and up front with prices. So far, I haven't had any problems with them except for installing a ceiling vent that's being weird. (I wasn't concerned enough to have them come back out, because everything in this house is weird.) I have to have some wiring redone, and they're my first call. read more

The work done was fair. However, there was a light switch that we needed turned the opposite way, and he totally missed a light switch in the family room. He also left his small ladder here. So now we have a bank of light switches with one the wrong way, and a cream colored light switch when it should have been changed to white like all the others. The gentleman who answered the phone said that he would fix that when he came for his ladder. The ladder is still here, and nothing has been done. CW did a great job responding to my questions and concerns. They visited for a free estimate, and followed up via email with my two options. I wasn't able to respond right away, and they followed up later to see if I was still interested. I appreciate their commitment! We scheduled an appointment, but they were unable to come out due to adverse weather. They rescheduled for the next day and had no problems. I was unable to be home, but I provided a code and the electrician did the work efficiently (and didn't mind my cat!) and locked when leaving. The cost was extremely fair, and the representatives were very friendly. I'll be a repeat customer! read more

I had to chime in since there was only one other review and it wasn't favorable. I was recommended to use CW by a coworker who has rentals and uses CW repeatedly. He wouldn't have recommended if he wasn't happy with their service. I certainly was happy with CW. My first interaction was with one of their electricians who came out to estimate my job. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and gave me a thorough recommendation for the job that went beyond my original scope because I didn't realize I needed to do those things. At the same time, he recommended ways that I could do the different aspects of the job that would be the lowest cost for me. At the end of the day, they had the lowest cost by far and I got a handful of quotes. None of the other guys were as detailed in their estimate and all were at least a few thousand dollars more. (it was a big job) The work was done quickly and professionally and they gave me updates after each day. The only negative I could say was that they had to cut holes in my walls to do everything I needed but it was my responsibility to fill and repair those holes. I didn't realize this at first. To me, if you are cutting a hole in my wall, you should be able to repair it so that when you leave, I shouldn't be able to tell that you were there. Despite this, I recommended them to parents and several friends and all were pleased with the work. And I would recommend them to you as well. They did quality work at a good price which can't be said for a lot of contractors out there. read more

The owner, Chris, was very quick to respond, friendly and helpful with ideas. He was honest and didn't try to oversell anything and gave us a very fair estimate. We ended up using them for the job. I'm surprised by the negative reviews. I've used these guys several times on both my own home and a rental property. They are quick to come and provide an estimate. They typically give a couple of options -- an economical one and something that can be done as an upgrade (ex a motion sensing, timed shutoff light/fan switch for a bathroom). They provide a good, detailed estimate, which they will stand by for up to a year in case you want to put a budget together and schedule the work later when you have the time or money to do it. They are always on time for work, courteous, and clean up after themselves. They've wired dishwashers, added outlets, replaced wiring, installed light fixtures and more for me in two 110+ year old houses. They are my go to, and I no longer ask for a second quote. read more

Please approach this company with some caution. Do CALL them and not email them for a "Free Quote". Your interpretation does not matter only theirs. I sent emails requesting a garage electrical wiring quote. My last email was to leave the Breaker Box alone "It's probably old". This is a chargeable service to look at a Breaker Box, be certain if you're making the request. So, a technician was sent to my house for service. This meant my assumed "Free Quote" was no longer going to be free. A glance and review were done but nothing a person would equate to a fee of $250.00. So, the technician changes the price, so he was still paid to regular service fee of $189.00. This is starting to feel like a lot of deception and a means to still charge a first- time customer. Yes, the technician did sarcastically mention after replacing a socket, "At least now you're getting your monies worth". The "Free Quote" I have learned is done by a field manager and not a technician. My quote that day was done by someone who does not normally do them. I called to voice my opinion not once but twice with a Max. My point of view was dismissed as I was told I was talking in circles. Well, that response to a first customer concerned about service would not be tolerated in business. Do I feel I should get my money back, absolutely? He made me feel like an idiot for voicing my opinion. I felt deceive with a bait and switch tactics, so they still profit. Keep in mind that all emails are subjected to their interpretation. At this moment I am still awaiting the follow up call on the situation. On a side note, I do want to add it is extremely unprofessional for any technician or service professional to wear earbuds when dealing with a customer. This illustrates they do not have the customers full attention and can easily be distracted with the technology. read more

Not really thrilled with my service from them. I hired CW to install two ceiling fans for me, because my ceiling is too high for me to comfortably do it on my own. The electrician who came out was a nice and polite fellow, but in the end, I am going to have to hire somebody else to finish one bit, and do the other on my own. Two issues: 1. The ceiling fan in my living room has a pretty significant wobble. The electrician noticed that it made noise, but did not investigate the wobble. My guess is that it needs a better brace up there as it is a heavy fan, but at no point did the installer look at it, or make a recommendation. Because I cannot do the work up there on my own, I will hire a handyman to fix the wobble. Maybe that's something I cannot reasonably expect an electrician to fix, but frankly it seems like shoddy work that he didn't even look at the structure to which he was attaching a heavy fan. It felt like he just wanted to finish this job as quickly as possible, rather than making sure it was done well. 2. These fans came with wall controls, and hand-held remotes. The installer asserted to me that I could have one or another, but not both. A cursory read of the install instructions tells me differently, but again, installing the wall unit was apparently extra time that he didn't want to spend. I will do that myself, but I am disappointed that I paid for an electrician and then have to wire in the wall unit myself. read more

I had CW install an outside light post, there quote was the highest but I felt, based on the telephone discussion, they'd provide quality service. They were clear on the holes needed fixed by me, but they actually opened 5 holes (several larger) and only used and needed one of them. They also broke a ceramic tile on the new installation, drilled right through the tile and said they thought it was in the wall. A simple accurate measurement would have prevented that. They agreed to return to install the top of the light, however gave me instructions to attempt myself, which I agreed. I did install the top as instructed, but the photo cell did not work. I called and they said if they come it will be a service call, $169.00, even though they agreed to install when taking the job. They came out, it took less than 7 minutes, and they billed me $169 for a full service call, not honoring their original agreement to return to install the top of the light. I paid the invoice, writing a letter explaining my disappointment, they ignored me. Not a customer oriented business, very disappointing, I recommend you stay away from this business. They do not deserve your patronage. read more
