After assessing his skill level, classes were scheduled with the instructor. The instructor was always encouraging and would report my son's progress periodically. I was able to see my son's musical growth during performances where students played in recitals to show off their musical talents from the lessons received. Please note that CFMA does not follow the Cy-Fair ISD or any school calendar year for that matter. If your lesson doesn't fall on Thanksgiving Day or Christmas, expect your kid to have a lesson that week (instead of an opt-in for a camp like before) and you pay full rate regardless if you're out of town for break. I voiced my concerns several times having noticed this change since the departure of Ms. Nancy, but CFMA said that "this is their policy going forward". Well, you lost a customer x2 the way this was handled, having had my kid enroll for the past 4 years and my youngest this past year. No more trophies, no more incentive wristbands, no more workbooks avail for purchase - you buy your own and well, you get the picture. Teachers are great; management, truth be told, could improve on their end.

I began taking lessons for bass guitar in 2016, but there wasn't much music theory to it or the…read moreinstructor would ask me what I wanted to learn. That was frustrating to me because the instructor didn't want to follow their own program. As a new learner I didn't know enough about playing music to know what I needed to learn. However, in 2018 when I found out about Heaven's Republic Institute of Worship I began taking lessons there and continue to do so along with one of my daughters. The staff is very knowledgable and teaches not only how to play a song, but each instructor teaches music theory as well. I also like the structure in which each student is learning their particular instrument. Keyboards are usually taught separately from guitars and then everyone is brought together learning how to play as a band. From my perspective, KJ has been an inspiration for learning bass guitar because there are so many techniques and styles to playing bass and he pretty much knows all of them, which has given me a lot of tools to use. I highly recommend Heaven's Republic Institute for anyone wanting to learn an instrument with a structured program. Jeff D
